They just guessed and were sat next to the fans so they weren't able to see how many were actually there. Maybe 1000 of them were refused entry by the stewards for being pissed. There were 4 blocks of about 20x20 seats, that's 1600 seats. I'd say we pretty much filled two of them and scattered around in the other two, so say 100/150 in each of the other two blocks that gives 1000/1100 which fits in with Blackpool's 1077 number.
