The Rams will kick-off their 2013/14 preparations with a trip to League of Ireland Premier side Bohemians. Derby will travel over to Ireland for their pre-season curtain raiser with the Bohs on Saturday 13th of July at Dalymount Park. Nigel Clough’s squad will then face Port Vale at Vale Park on Tuesday 16th July before being based in the South West for three days, with a pre-season fixture lined up against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Friday 19th July. After returning from the South West, the Rams will face Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday 23rd July. Derby also hope to play one pre-season friendly at Pride Park Stadium in the lead up to the new season, although opponents and a date are yet to be confirmed. The Rams will also play two development squad fixtures before the League campaign kicks-off on Saturday 3rd August, with friendly matches arranged against Buxton on Saturday 20th July and Matlock on Tuesday 30th July. The squad is set to report back for pre-season training on Thursday 27th June and will undergo fitness tests and an intense training programme before returning to match action against Bohemians on July 13th. The 2012/13 Football League season ends on Saturday 4th May, with the npower Championship Play-Offs running until Monday 27th May, whilst the 2013/14 fixtures will be announced on Wednesday 19th June 2013.
