City have returned 2,000 tickets for Arsenal. You can turn this into a dull point-scoring exercise, or agree that £62 is a bit steep?

I can't believe they sell tickets for that price, its so out of touch

Is this Man City? Not that it makes much difference.

To be fair Chelsea and Tottenham were charging £45 to £50 10 years ago so I am not surprised that Arsenal (which is a much better ground than the two mentioned) are charging this.

Supply and demand - if enough people are prepared to pay it the prices will keep on going up and up.

This is the point. Clubs charge what they can. And some people really will pay over £50 to watch a league match - in fact, enough will to pretty much fill a massive stadium.

The Prawn Sandwich Brigade will go to any lengths to see their favourites win - but only as long as they are winning.

I used to work with a guy who was a Blackburn Rovers season ticket holder when Shearer and Sutton were there and they won the league. Two or three years later - well, fancy that - he had transformed into a dyed-in-the-wool lifelong-fan Manchester United season ticket holder.

Do people like that actually exist? Which party do I vote for that will take this sort of thing down?

For me, the party I vote for is also not a matter for debate. I guess I'm just old-fashioned that way (brother).

i think if derby are making tickets a lot cheaper of late, but i think they should reduce season ticket prices for next season i think for east stand i think should be £300 something like that.

I'm all for cheaper season tickets but if all season tickets were reduced by the £100 that you have suggested there is another circa £1.7million gone from the budget, or to put it another way no Sammon, Jacobs and Coutts signed this year.

Knowing that we already have some of the cheapest tickets available in our division already, it amazes me that the people who want more money for signings and a higher wage bill are the same people who want to invest less of their money into the club!

I got the impression that the dynamic pricing meant that ST holders would always pay the cheapest price, even though some games were rated more expensive than others.

They know what price each ST is for any particular gamme, so just add a bit extra (say £2 - £3) to that price for the last hour or so before kick-off. Then, if you decide last minute to go to the match you know you'll get a good deal.

championship clubs have to have relatively high ticket prices because TV money is bugger all.

Or they could just refuse to be held to ransom when it comes to wages...

I see Morecambe let everybody in FREE for last nights match and still only got circa 4000 in!

That is correct, they even published a list of what games were rated as and their nominal "ST value", it was posted on here somewhere.

They have been pretty transparent it's just that a lot of fans - especially the more casual, per on the day type - won't be quite as aware what the situation is until they go to buy a ticket and think "what the hell's this!".

Think it will just take a while until people are used to it and feel comfortable with it.

I was a season ticket holder 97-09, but had to start working Saturdays, so had to give up the ST. I can't pay 6months in advance, so this current system punishes those like me. It just seems stupid that I have to pay more just because I can't buy in advance.

what i think would be a good idea is if fans could commit buying 6 games (and pay for them), but they can change games or exchange their vouchers for tickets later on in the season?

Club gets cash in pocket at beginning of season and supporters get savings, but flexibility.

I realised I was old enough to choose my own club rather than just supporting the club my dad does. And I've lived in Derby all my life.

I used to go to the United v Derby games years ago and cheer for both teams 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
