This dirty side thing is ridiculous. Had that not been a Derby yesterday both teams could have ended the game with 9 or 10 men. Derby-Forest means hard tackling, do they seriously think we're as full-blooded as that in a standard league game? I was proud of the lads commitment yesterday, they were biting with a crunch in the tackle, Roberts in particular threw his bodyweight into everything (and his timing was superb), I expect nothing less.

The ref thing, well maybe they know how we felt when we were robbed of two perfectly good goals by Atwell. More of a sucker punch than an elbow being shown a red card in my eyes. They're complaining about 10 men just reinforces the character of our lads last year. What character did Forest show? We still had to beat their 10 men, it wasn't pretty, it was rank ugly but we managed it.

Quite frankly their "anti-football" accusations are a year out of date. Some of us, myself included, have slagged Clough off for our football in recent times, but the football if not the results has been very decent this year. Have we come away with impressive majority possessions including away from home by fluke in the rest of our games? Yesterday was scrappy, rough, disjointed and sloppy from start to finish, the intensity of the game pretty much stopped both teams from getting a foot on the ball. The 15 minute spell where we scored was the only occasion either side strung a few passes together.

He has a point.

Can we be happy with the performance?

Not really

Did we expect a good performance?

Nope

So then, considering the fixture can we be happy with the performance?

Yes

Can Forest be happy with the performance?

No

Considering the nature of these games, can they be happy with the performance?

No. They lost.

I'm not sure what these lads expect of Derby v Forest but they are often petty, tough etc. If you judge either team based on these games then you're thick.

Unlucky lads. xx

Today has been delicious in my office full of reds, got an answer to everything they throw my way.

"we only had ten men."

WE only had ten men.

"you played rubbish football"

But better than Forest 'cause we won.

"it was never a red"

Elbow to face = red card, show still of challenge on wardy.

"we played better than you"

Who went home with 3 points?

Love being a Ram today. And most other days, but today especially!

You know the cliche about it's harder to play against 10 men? Often that can turn out to be true, as the side with a man down fight harder, are more committed and try and hold onto what they've got making it harder for the 11 man team to score which can mean they can score on the break. If the team that gets a man sent off feels injustice at the dismissal, that can fire them up even more.

Well, Forest's display yesterday with 10 men was woeful. Offered nothing until the last few mins, even after they were trailing for so long with nothing to hold onto. (The contrast with last season is beautiful). I thought we played intelligently in the circumstances as an away team in a local derby. Kept the ball for long periods, especially immeadiately after the sending off. We took all the sting out of the game and were content to keep it tight once we got the goal-which was an excellent bit of hoof ball.

Does anyone at the game know if Hughes moved to centre mid before the red card or after. The way we played suggested he was already there before and regardless, we seemed to to play in a way that had been instructed at half time such was the instant change in tactics.

I'm glad the Forest fans are so deluded into thinking we are a team of thugs and cheats. We know how we've played this season and know that the first half yesterday was a one off, mostly the result of a frenetic local match. I don't know how Forest has played this season but a) their results seem to be getting worse and 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> their results aren't very good on paper either.

I actually like their manager though, so hope he unfairly gets the boot soon so he can go to a club where he can succeed and is replaced by a 'big name' who wastes all the money eg Sven.

To answer your question,

Hughes switched at half time. According to Bryson, him and Hendrick were struggling to get the ball. Coutts and Hughes were to hold the width but Forest were playing narrow meaning we were outnumbered in central areas. Straight after HT we packed the midfield.

Once we'd done that I doubt they would have ever scored unless Dexter dived in the box

Cheers, and great stuff. It's a shame the serial killer got sent off now as we could well have won anyway!

Forest forum makes great reading, although some of them are starting to realise that Cox did the worse foul of the game, Forest also committed loads of fouls and they were crap in first half too! They still don't know that we've been playing some lovely stuff this season at times too. Would be nice to see them come to Derby up for a fight later in season and we just pass it round them and walk it into the net. Again.

We did play anti football tbf.

The way our RB wandered out of position to the edge of their area, hoofed the ball out wide then the ball was thumped hopefully between defenders and goalkeeper to Bryson's feet who then tripped over it.

Anti football.
