If it’s Appleby, then a “wealthy man with a sports background” could well be David Tepper or someone of that ilk. As I’ve said before, I do hope that someone like that would be willing to go ahead immediately, knowing that their lawyers would make mincemeat of Boro and Wycombe in a court of law.

So if a billionaire can’t make Mels mess work then it’s unlikely anyone else will!
Bury fc have restarted in level 9 in the North West Counties North first division, by the look of it we’ll restart in the Northern Counties East Premier Division, with Bottesford Town, Staveley bloody Miners Welfare, Winterton (WHO) Rangers etc etc. Is this registering with you Mel Morris lovers yet!? Not even a proper demonstration, disappearing with a whimper!!!

I feel increasingly uncomfortable with this whole process of administration because it feels like  the usual players are still trying to manipulate events to their advantage.
We all think Mel Morris has walked away, leaving us in this mess, but I think he is still involved behind the scenes and trying to get the outcome he wants. Whether that is an outcome that is best for Mel Morris or best for Derby County FC remains to be seen. They could be the same thing.
But, we have administrators appointed by him, two previous owners, the most recent CEO all very active and involved in this ongoing process.
Kirchner offered something different,  a fresh start without the decades of club politics. Whether he could have delivered on it, I don't know.
But I know I am weary of the same faces who have not been good for our club in the past, still hovering around the honeypot. I worry that Appleby has been talked about for over two years but has still failed to produce a bid that could have prevented administration in the first place or made an early exit a possibility; that Gadsby is a safe pair of hands who really doesn't have the financial clout or the ambition to rebuild the club; that the administrators are busy being administrators rather than actually working for a better solution.
Meanwhile we as fans have more uncertainty and no say in proceedings. We have to fight to change that in future or this won't be the last time we find ourselves in this situation.

Why would we automatically get a place in the National League North?

I just felt he had positivity. It filled me with hope for the future. It didn't seem to be about wanting us to try and make profit.

The elephant in the room is Stephen Pearson, why is he still at the club? Is this “Mel’s buddy” that CK refers to?

If the Administrators prefer Appleby's bid, why not just make that the 'preferred bidder'?
If Appleby's consortium are not ready to finalize their bid, why not just declare 'time is up' and stick to the latest of their deadlines and give it to Kirchner?
There is a very grave chance that we are going to lose our club here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah the Administrators are acting on behalf of the creditors and not the club. BUT the creditors will get zilch if the club is liquidated.

To go public like he has, I’d imagine CK has already reached the end of his journey with us. By all means make your feelings clear about how the deal has been conducted once it’s concluded, but when you’re waiting to be selected for a winning bid it’s not great practice. Imagine buying a house with 2 other bidders for the same price but you’re slagging off the vendor on twitter about the carpets being dirty. Not doing yourself any favours are you?

I think CK still wants the club, I think an ultimatum will be the most likely outcome.  I like his passion, but his mouth could end up with us in a similar situation with the EFL in the future.  He's clearly got a fuse as he's exploded today all over twitter.  Would I take him?  Yes in a heart beat because he is clearly passionate and wants to buy the club.  I do not see him being satisfied with a Tier 3 team....  I think he will have a sensible business plan to bring back the good times.  His comments about our youth development were refreshing, clearly the youth will get a real chance at Derby.  Young players will be interested in signing for a club that will give them a good run in the team too.  Something we've not done enough of for a long while!!!!!!!!!

Okay thanks for the reply, I’m not here to be confrontational, been reading this site for a fair few years (along with most championship sites ) and quite recently have seen QPR mentioned a few times. Not that it helps any I don’t think any team should be suing another.
I still have nightmares about QPR’s administration and relegation to the third tier in 2001, we had 5 registered players at the start of the following season, had a total rebuild and after 3 seasons got back into the championship.
I can still remember our “rich owners” stitching Derby up with exorbitant ticket prices as you’d just been relegated and deemed to be a category A game.
many of us weren’t happy when Tony Fernandes started buying players we couldn’t afford as if they were panini stickers and I think the other clubs are right to be ducked off with the way our club went.
it’s taken a few years but we are now doing things correctly and are just starting to reap the rewards. However I expect if we don’t go up this year then our young starts will be sold and we’ll have to start the cycle again.
Hope you get a new owner (pay HMRC off) and become competitive again.
    merry Christmas to you all.
