Its not a good sign when countries start blocking shipments which belong to other countries. It amazes me they can legally do it.

Will be interesting to see if uptake of the AZ vaccine in France and Germany improves now, or is the damage already done.

Maybe instead of Italy blocking shipments they should be talk to France and Germany and say if you dont want your stocks, we will have them.

Surely Australia has a right to be upset, especially as they have been blocked in the name of the EU when stocks sit untouched in other EU countries because they dont want to use them.

It will be interesting, they are now pushing a vaccine that previously they told their residents was in effect not for for purpose.

Didn't we get told in no uncertain terms that the squabbling and continued debate has to stop?  That, and agree with the moderators decisions or else.  That kinda nuked any further discussion as one mans debate is another mans squabble.

I'm just waiting to get my jab and for this season to end.  I've gotten more and more detached from football since lockdowns gone on - looking forwards to next season and the atmosphere of live matches again.

    Peace ?️

Some of the posters did contribute to other threads as well, just seemed strange that's all ?‍♂️

Germany are changing their mind on the AZ vaccine and going to vaccinate over 65's.

They are also going to follow the UK lead and widen the gap between jabs so they can vaccinate more people faster.

Italy now blocking a shipment of AZ to Australia.

Which brings me to another question, where are the main contributors to this subject, not that I'm complaining, hopefully the absence is a sign of this all coming to and end ?

Everyone is telling me schools are half to three quarters full anyway with essential workers kids , so if anything like true I don't see it being as big an impact as if 100% kids going back.

I don't think they test at the moment though do they ?

Also seen this on the Brazilian variant

There is negligible effect; T-cell-generated immunity levels are UNAFFECTED by the various variants.
This very strongly implies that protection against severe illness will be the same across all known variants.

There will be a sharp spike in cases as they are testing the kids twice a week starting end of this week, that’s hundreds of thousands of folk being tested who currently aren’t. I just hope we don’t over react to it and manage it best we can. Fingers crossed for April starting to bring life back to normality.

Based on results to date, not sure that will be the case. Think it's around 1%, if it returns much higher then it will pose additional questions because kids at this age shouldn't be a risk, the strategy has been implemented based on that.

  6. Spygate was what football is all about, culminating in what was a pretty funny piss taking song, that backfired in a way that can only happen in football.

Not sure why fans are sad or are accused of being obsessed trawling through other fans forums, how many posts have we had on here where we have done the same, sure I have seen quite a few threads with posts calling out other forums for exactly the same thing.

The thing with football though is that what goes around always comes around, it's what it's all about, the highs and the lows, if your happy enough to give it then sometimes you have to hold your hands up and take it.

Leeds don't bother me, there fans are the same as any other up and down the country, there is some rivalry there, from both sides. I have been to many games at elland road prior to spygate, to know it's there, a 4-3 loss sticks in the memory as one that kicked off outside, but outside the fixture I'm not sure most fans really care either way.

I'm no virologist but I thought the process of mutation wasn't really a deliberate act on the part of the virus - just that mutations happen randomly all the time, and if a random mutation happens to be one that makes it easier to infect (like the kent variant) or in future evade the vector of the vaccine, then that strain will automatically become the most prevalent?

My understanding for what it's worth is that it isn't deliberate, but does what you say. The problem being that the more hosts you have the more chance you have of getting a strain that if it's avoiding the vaccine or easier to infect will become more prevalent.

It seems like a positive that so far the vaccine companies don't think the mutations are evading the vaccine. Could be that the new RNA vaccines are a bit more resilient? Or we just don't know. Another positive is that this is surely the most studied virus in the history of humankind, so we have to be hopeful that the vaccines can be tweaked and boosters offered when needed

    ?

There’s thought a lot of these mutations are occurring in immune compromised people who harbour the virus for months, and one particular danger is giving them convalescent plasma, which is basically plasma from recovered covid infected, which seems to place even more evolutionary pressure on the virus to mutate.

Vaccines should still stop serious illness and death in the majority unless the spike was missing- then it wouldn’t be a coronavirus and could not get in cells.

There is also the people who don't get vaccinated, for some reason people believe the only risk is to them when this happens and not what you talk about in mutations and the possibility of impacting the efficacy of the vaccine.

    Have they sacked him yet?

7-1 now, fans calling for Stevie G stating two trophies in 6 years isn't good enough for a big club - it Liverpool a big club though ?

Oh and here is the moan, can't be a penalty as people have asked me about it, he is losing the plot

  10. Sibley has talent, no doubt but he isn't consistent enough. That said the lad is only 19 with a handful of games under his belt. There are times throughout his career where he will have dips of form, I'm sure he is still ahead of schedule to where he thought he would be at this stage.

We are in great form at the moment, his time will come, up to him to snatch it when he does and show he deserves a place in starting 11...same as any other player really.

  11. Ali chosen to go home for final tests. Seems strange that he stuck around, got himself back in team, did ok and now decides he wants out. Saying that, it's obvious his family is his priority and good on him, so maybe time for him to reevaluate what he wants going forward.

I think that Flopps mask is slipping now and people are actually starting to realise what a dickwad he is.

7 years now at liverpool and the only time he has won a league is as you say in a season that was distributed like no other. I'm sure he would love to be a seen as a fraud winning all them titles?

I see what you're saying but he's always been a sore loser. The reason why his interviews were refreshing is because they've won almost every game for the last 2 years

Maybe, but I remember him before they were winning and he was like a breath of fresh air to the club. I don't mind sore losers, I hate losing myself but be graceful with it, he just isn't any more.

Level with Calvert-Lewin who has the advantage of being younger.

Abraham has a similar minutes per goal record in the league, level on goals in all completions despite playing about 30% less and is younger.

Watkins is a more promising player, given he's 2 years younger.

If Southgate wants a more experienced player in his squad, he's more likely to opt for someone he's already called up before, such as Ings. He also scored on his last cap. Similar applies to Callum Wilson who has only scored 1 less than Bamford.

Rashford's another who Southgate would likely use from previous squad to lead the line.

We shall see, as I say I wouldn't be surprised to see him feature in one of Southgates future squads, for me he is above most you put up there for what he can bring to the team.
