  1. Nottingham burned while Marinakis fiddled πŸ‘
  2. A couple of things, I wasn't at the Chesterfield game...that was Mucker, Around 10/12 went to Barnet from the Chelsea game being postponed. Here you go...you might see yourself
  3. It's this that wound us up uttox...including those that wouldn't upset a Goose(Boo)I guess in some ways we had to accept this kind of treatment, But if you cage people then don't expect angels to leave the ground, We too had a pop at those who were doing the monkey impressions, You remembered their faces and looked for them after the game...no fences protecting them then, Unfortunately in the dark they all looked the sameπŸ˜‰
  4. The cheeky Chesterfield lads named their "firm" the CLF Chesterfield Lunatic Fringe, Now I wonder where they got that idea from πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ This is a tale from one who was there...not me, A Derby group headed for Chelsea...game postponed so they headed for Barnet Vs Ilkeston, Unfortunately the day was over before it started, Some Derby lads decided to have a go at some Barnet fans, Unfortunately either close by or with the fans were some professional wrestlers...Barnet 1 Derby 0 😁
  5. I've been on the lash all day in Belper so bear with...not a punch or a kick thrown πŸ˜‰ Were there innocents hurt...yes there was, Far too many that weren't reported as it was a common occurrence, Heysel, Hillsboro, Bradford saw some horrendous deaths due to Fans, Police and old stadia...who's to blame? Danny Dyer oh please...a manufactured programme to put him in the limelight of being a "hard case" there were a good few from the Neptune who didn't want the DLF on his programme but some of the more high profile DLF crowd won the day...it was embarrassing...imo. Books were written of embellished journeys through the lives of "football hooligans" the Brimsons from Watford were the 1st to put pen to paper, They looked the part but as they say "the pen is mightier than the sword" both a pair of fantasists. Life is not worth losing for a game of football...it's mind boggling that this could happen, But lives are lost every weekend in towns up and down the Country...age teaches you one thing...to learn and listen to others, What happened 30-40-50 years ago through football was something we did as others did, Nothing to be proud or ashamed of it was a life that some chose to follow. I'll end with this...I loved the 70s-80s made so many friends that you could re float the Titanic with them all, Today...I'm just an old fella that's still has his memories...and I'll share them with anyone who would like to hear them. Enjoy your weekend of what's left...I will ☺️
  6. No bravado or handbags fella, This was life for some, Have you ever walked down a street when going to a football match and been thumped by an away fan, Or maybe grabbed by the throat by our police forces for walking in a group of fans, Kettled in train stations, Put on trains not fit for cattle, Put in a cage(Southampton)yes a cage where even the top was fenced, And you wonder why some(including myself)railed against society, 10s of 1000s were at it all over the Country it's how it was for some, But one thing I'll add, If you were sitting with your partner in a pub and you were being bullied for wearing your colours by the home fans and our kind walked in...you'd stop sh!tting your pants.
  7. Ian Hislop at his best...incase you missed it
  8. There needs to be a warning with every pair sold. *Please remove before going swimming*
  9. To be fare to the Bushwackers anything outside the boundaries of London was North...and that includes the South coast 😁
  10. Ivy Square to the ground...at night time was fun, A Saturday afternoon walking back to town and many a home owner stood at their front door with a piece of 4x2, A cricket bat, Pick axe handle or the wife in curlers and an apron 😁 We had the time of our lives...now it's shopping at Asda fighting for deals in the whoops isle
  11. Yep the 70s were "Madder than Jack Mad McMad" No knives(unless you were a "Bin Dipper" Scouser...just Head, Fists, Feet and Teeth with the odd Elbow and knee thrown in and that was just the police 😁 Your Dad knows what's what, If there was no football then you fought those from Spondon, Alvaston, Allenton and Mackworth...I was from Chadd a more salubrious area of Derby ☺️
  12. You'll soon find out why...oil prices are going up which = petrol prices, The Houthis who are backed by Iran are attacking ships in the Straights of Hormuz, Iran boarding foreign owned ships. https://news.sky.com/story/middle-east-crisis-explosions-heard-in-sanaa-as-strikes-launched-against-houthis-linked-targets-13045848
  13. The 70s was a mad decade, 3/4 day week, Red Robbo at British Leyland, Robert Relf advertising his house for sale...to a white family only😬 , Strikes left right and centre, A Saturday afternoon was a relief to get away from an ordinary life, As you say most lads were fare game...there were in our case...boundaries, Only those that wanted it got it, I got a few clumps on the way, But all good fun 😁, The Police were the hardest firm, Horses, Truncheons and those size 15 boots 😁They were just as game as we were, Only they never got arrested πŸ™„, Having your laces taken out of your Doc Martens was a pain, But we weren't completely thick...always kept a spare pair 😁 The worse beating I had was at Luton, I got caught in a shop doorway, Curled up in the foetal position and hope they would move on...they did thankfully, Back on the train and the war stories began, I ached for a few days after but the next Saturday couldn't come quick enough. Leeds were always well supported a shed load of them came down on a Friday Night took over the town centre...little battles all over the place, Millwall were very handy at there's but sometimes chose not to travel so always ended up fighting with themselves...video below 😁 https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=derby+county+Vs+millwall+play+offs&mid=49C880D2AB33D6E46A2449C880D2AB33D6E46A24&FORM=VIRE Stokes Victoria Ground was a nasty place to go, You had to be a Doctor Who character...have eyes in the back of your head, The Cemetery if caught there was the right place to be...plenty of graves to rest your soul πŸ˜” We weren't the Politicians favourites but then again they weren't ours 😁
  14. Yep early 80s, It was after the time when Chelsea and Leeds ripped the seats out of the Ossie End middle tier, Mike Waterson at the time when interviewed said "we have our own lunatic fringe" as the Derby fans were below the Leeds fans and climbed into the middle tier and a battle ensued...DCFC moved away fans to the bottom area 2 weeks later and Chelsea threw the seats onto their own fans, It was a game at Carlisle that they gave themselves the name. video below https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=chelsea+throw+seats+down+at+derby+fans&mid=572A8628131D6FBAFE7F572A8628131D6FBAFE7F&FORM=VIRE Derby as fans were just a group of "hooligans", We all met at the market place or the Spotted Horse to walk up Saint Peters St, "Football firms names" became more prevalent in the early 80s
  15. I would say they both were, Freddie Howard had little dots tattooed on both hands, Yes "gobby" but very handy to have on your side in a battle in the mid to late 70s, Then disappeared around the time the DLF were formed around 1981...a new football hooligan was born. Clarke had 2 brothers that I know of, One went into the army who was the older Brother and the younger one who's now a pub landlord.
  16. In the TV programme didn't the whistle blower say in court that Fujitsu were able to change the figures on the system...as witnessed by a union official, Then they said he wasn't there so couldn't have seen what was in the room that didn't exist. Or was this just for viewer content πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  17. You may or may not be surprised on how many squaddies were involved in the above, Here's a story I was told by someone who was there, 2 Soldiers went over the border to Holland from Germany to watch a game, After the game they went into a Dutch bar...one where the girls sit on your lap and you pay for their service, They were hit with the bill...extortionate to say the least, They refused to pay and got a good hiding by the doormen, The next weekend 50 squaddies get on the coach and head to the Bar, Beers flowing until it was time to pay, They never paid, The bar was trashed along with the bouncers, The local police did nothing...which was a good idea. Today I agree with the above in bold, At home imo you were fighting for your territory those who would come to your town/ground and try and take over, When England played over seas it was called "the English disease" by Politicians, Eventually the England fans became the whipping boys for the local police forces...for just being English. And then you wonder why we finish bottom every year when we enter the Eurovision Song Contest πŸ˜‰
  18. I believe Albert Pierrpoint had a few 😁
  19. My 1st "escape" came against Spurs as a 15 year old, I'd stand where the floodlights were at the Vulcan St End right next to the Normanton Stand...a great view of the game and also the shenanigans along the Popside, At the end of the game I was intrigued(nosey)to see where all the fighting was after the game, Derby's main lad in those days was a guy called "Fagin" a guy that always wore a long coat and was a double for Jesus Christ, We got to Harrington St just off Shaftsbury St when we heard the noise from Spurs fans, Fagin held the line then Spurs ran down Harrington St, I was on my toes 😁I never stopped running until I got to TC Harrisons in NormantonπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜ Fagin disappeared around a year or so later, He was thrown in the River Trent by Trent Bridge by the red dogs, To be replaced by Kev O'Reilly, Phil Clarke, Billy Parker, Freddie Howard, Herbie, Ossie Owen, Acca, Geordie, Larry Lightning, Phil Millward, A few years later I progressed to the back of the Popside...singing "you'll never take the Popside" a few tried...but never did πŸ‘
  20. Walking through...I was jumping over the grave stones, I remember 1 grave stone...it said..."Here sleeps Alice who passed away at the pottery factory while falling asleep on her job, She really didn't give a f*** about work...rest in peace Alice you idle fu**er" born April 1798 died with a lump of clay on her head in May 1835.
  21. That I didn't see, KO was to busy knocking WHU fans back down the stairs like skittles on a bowling alley, If we hadn't have followed O'Reilly's orders...down town would have been out of bounds for some time, And a night at the Polish club on Charnwood St would have been a no go...as he and Phil Clarke were working the doors there. As I said...once the scores were even with the fans things went our way, Pretty sure WHU fans didn't expect Derby to have as much support who could give out more than they could take πŸ‘
  22. You were there I wasn't so can only go on the postings on here, To a poster the players were poor with maybe the exception of 1 or 2, Fans deserve better, But when do fans come into the players minds? Teams can get away with carrying 1 or 2 players, But 7/8 or 9 even that's a no no, Lets hope this was a blip and not the January/February race to the bottom
  23. Different times and era Kath and yes I was...I'm not far off your age☺️Players are a different bread to what they were under BC, They hold all the cards, They do as they choose, Their contract says they get paid X amount of loot for their efforts....whether good or bad. PS...I've changed my user name...guess who 😁
