  1. Yes set one against the other, Divide the workforce, Starve them of money and food and it's a win win, The worst for me was the miner who had to cremate his new born child after he/she died in hospital, No funds for the funeral, Couldn't get a loan, Government told him as he was on strike there was no relief, So the baby was put in another persons coffin(with permission)to be cremated. As for Thatcher and her Government...I hated them, I was unemployed from March 81 to November 84 with 5 million others, Not a Miner but a press operator at Prestige in Derby when the company moved to Blackburn ๐Ÿ™„
  2. Miners Strike-a Frontline Story...Or Thatcher the Milk Snatchers Revenge for the early 70s. Last night on BBC 2...90mins, So I guess it will be on iPlayer soon enough, As I remember it, The UK became a Police state with travel restrictions in place across England and Wales, The Police brutality at Orgreave will stay for as long as I live, Back in 1984 the news edited most of the violence out...but not last night, Depending on your age and your political beliefs back then you chose your side...it became a Class War. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/feb/18/miners-strike-a-frontline-story-review-storytelling-so-vivid-that-40-years-melt-away-in-an-instant

  4. It's all a tough call ramit, I see the USA with bases all around the World, China building an Island in the China sees and pointing a heavy fist at Taiwan, Russia invading lands because they can, Russia is filling the coffers of Irans bank...who then fund others to do their bidding, I see Mexico flooding the USA with Fentanyl killing 100s if not 1000s of USA citizens. Those of us on this forum have answers...but maybe our answers don't suit those in power, I wished I had the strength of those who would fight the wrongs in the World, Just like the Tommy's in WW1 who did the bidding of those in power and those that refused(306)were executed for their troubles. Alexei Navalny...a true Hero...but now Dead ๐Ÿ˜”
  5. Unfortunately their time is now, It will be tomorrow, Next week, Next month, Next year and so on and so on. Read this...you may or may not be surprised, It has also happened here in the UK and will continue to happen. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-68137582
  6. I doubt it, They spunked circa ยฃ11million on a new stand
  7. I'm not sure your age rich, But there was a time in the 70s when we'd paint the outside of the rubber sole, I did my cherry red Docs in yellow paint, That night I put them on and I looked the bees knees, Walked across Chadd Park to my local...got to the bar and It looked like I'd gone trekking in the Amazon, Paint was still tacky and the Council had cut the grass on the Park...fcuk me ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Turps and a rag did the job but had to keep them outside near the coal shed to get rid of the turps smell ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  11. This is a tough one, Sibley has been given a few opportunities after a couple of good performances with PW but not taken them, It hasn't helped him with having to play in a few positions, Is the time right for a longer spell in the team...I'm going to
  12. Eugene Grace was Chairman of Bethlehem Steel in the USA before WW2 broke out, When the States joined the War after the bombing of Pearl Harbour Franklin D Roosevelt invited Grace to a meeting to talk about the War effort, A few days later Grace gets all the other steel manufacturers together at a meeting, While all were sitting down and smoking a Cigar and a glass of fine Whiskey...Grace stood up and said the immortal words..."Gentlemen we're going to be Rich" Without the USA Steel industry, Guns/Rifles, Bombs, Trucks, Ships, Tanks, Submarines, Planes, Ammunition, Helmets, knives/forks/spoons and plates...the War wouldn't have ended as it did. Unfortunately...someone has to pay for all this equipment, Great Britain paid it's last payment to the USA for lend lease 61 years after the end of WW2. Also a ship load of Gold was on it's way from Russia to the UK for payments of War supplies during 39/45, The Germans sank this ship, some 50/60 years later divers found the ship and found all the Gold, Once the divers took their share the UK and Russia went 50/50 with the remaining bars of Gold. War is a business ๐Ÿ‘
  13. I'll start by saying VAR advised the official at Luton Vs Sheff Utd last week to view 2 handballs, No fcuking way were they penalties...imo but both given. Yesterday Man City Vs Chelsea a cross comes into the box and players jump for the ball, The ball then for a second nestles in a Chelsea players forearm in the box where he then moves his arm to nudge it away...VAR no penalty VAR shows that it all depends who's in the box at Stockley Park, Games are won and lost on the opinion of a burke in a box. As for yesterday...as @sage would say...it's give-able ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  17. Sketchers...I have 3 pairs all comfy from day one, Doc Martens are good once broken in.
  18. Pearce said fences have been fixed since MM bailed and DC took over, This would be one hell of a fcuking slam dunk for more disdain from us DCFC fans if Dwight Gayle's name is to big for Derby County
