...and don't forget the nearby pubs, shops and burger stalls who will all have taken a hit on sales without those bigger PL crowds.... and the owner of the burger van would have bought more Euro Lottery tickets if he/she was a bit more flush and they are now 40million out of pocket because of evil cheating Derby.

It's a bit of a lose/lose really. Pay them something and this specific immediate problem goes away to be replaced by potentially something even worse as there is an absolute free for all and lots of legal firms made even richer.

Don't know that I am dealing with it at all really. I swing between anger and frustration to helplessness that I can't really do anything and sometimes to just feeling a bit numb and not really interested in or focussed on much at all. That's not really me, I'm generally a bit of a 'heart on sleeve' type normally.
Sometimes I just walk away from the noise of all this for a bit and sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't. The constant delays and setbacks and broken deadlines are a bit toxic to morale.

I suspect that folk are just feeling that punting the decision a month on will just result in the same conversations that were about to happen (when a deal would hopefully thrashed out because the crunch time was approaching fast) will just happen in a last minute rush in a months time instead. More fees, more uncertainty.

    From the latest statement:
‘… providing additional time to seek clarity on the claims from Middlesbrough and Wycombe’
How much time do they need to seek ‘clarity’?! You’ve had months!
On and on it goes. Trying to keep the faith and stay calm but it’s not easy.

I believe that it is just a Churchill quotes to suggest that though there is a hell of a lot to do, that it is finally starting to move in the right direction.
    Original quote was:
"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

Everyone got round a table and pragmatically wanted everyone else to back down?

Understand what you are saying but although it was Morris who pushed us in the canal and I don't think many are arguing with that, it is the EFL and their buddies who are standing on the towpath with a bargepole pushing us back in every time we manage to swim to the edge. They offer a life ring but want us to chuck them our wallet before they'll let us have it or they'll happily let us drown.

I refer you to this handy summary from Tombo:

In summary, there may be good news. Or it could be bad news.
It could be today. Or possibly tomorrow. Or possibly by the end of the week.
It might drag on until the end of Feb. Or it might not. Or it might be the end of the season. Or also not.
And we could get a 15 point deduction next season. Then again, that could also not happen. Or it could happen this season.
And we've had some information from people who say they know what's going on. That said, they might not actually know.
So in summary, that's what we know about what's going on. Precisely absolutely nothing. But it's got us all riled up as it might be important.
Then again, it might not be.

I think that summarises the key events of the day as they have unfolded so far. Maybe the admins could add that to the updates thread ?

Positive progress my arse. Blah blah, stall stall bull**** bull****... Delay solves nothing except to kick the can down the road and terminally damage any chance of staying up as we risk losing our best players from an already tiny squad hamstrung by being unable to offer any contract extension. Just seems to be a cynical attempt to cause as much harm as possible to DCFC by preventing us naming a preferred bidder who will agree to EFL's demands. Are they hoping that the current noise just dies down a bit and we get bored or resigned to our fate ?

So....sorry to maybe be a bit behind here but...the pending great news that would please everyone posted on here last night is no longer happening correct??
If any delay say for a month is happening what exactly will change in 1 months time ??? apart from a higher admin bill , players sold and possible loss of interest from interested parties...This was a joke some time ago its gone way past that now ....its a mess of high proportions...The EFL are basically strangling any chance of staying up ...another month will prove.....NOTHING

I genuinely and stupidly thought the next 48 hours were going to reveal great news...but great news and DCFC don't seem to ever go in the same sentence
