  1. And it's popped. Very substantial fissure eruption.
  2. Currently half way through series 4 of 'Elementary'. Still enjoying it.
  3. It just seemed intent on paying lip-service to as many conspiracy theories as possible.
  4. I wear specs and hearing aids. The latter are useful too - I can switch them off and don't have to listen to the whining drivel from certain quarters.
  5. From where I sat, in my opinion the referee and officials got every single decision spot on. We got what we deserved - a point.
  6. And, of course, everything by Death Cab For Cutie (the American rock band or the track by Bonzo Dog Doodah Band)
  7. A whole album... https://mooremusic.wordpress.com/2009/02/26/fan-fayre-for-the-commons-people/
  8. Filed under 'not a lot of people know that', Kev Moore's album "Fan Fayre for the Commons People" features a version of "Wooly Bully" - which actually spins a tale about a conversation I had with an old chap on the Popside, at half time during the UEFA Cup game against Finn Harps (checks calendar) 45 years ago. The conversation went along the following lines... Old Bloke: Ayup, miduk. What's t'score? Eddie: It's 9-0. Old Bloke: Bugger me. I went furra s**t and missed 5 goals.
  9. I would think that the land it's built on would go a long way towards supporting your valuation.
  10. No half measures, in my opinion. You either support Ukraine or Putin.
  11. Oh, yes - Britain's first Trappist beer. In my opinion, the original Tynt Meadow (the 7.4% dark beer pictured) is one of the finest beers brewed in England. I've been a huge fan ever since they started brewing at Mount St Bernard Abbey. The Memsahib and I pop up there 2 or 3 times a year to pick a couple of boxes up. It is a most tranquil place. Be sure to get the glass too. The bottom of the label is a depiction of the horizon featuring the abbey.
  12. I had the last two boxes from Chaddesden Lidl last week. Amazing that the stock lasted 2 months this time. I've still got 16 boxes left, so I should be able to hold out until the next time they're in stock. I'm even in the luxurious position of being able to give some away as Christmas presents.
  13. Keep persevering. You get used to chillies in the end (pun intended)
  14. I did. 10 minutes a week is enough tedium now.
  15. 1. Unlikely. 2. Very unlikely. 3 Quite possibly. 4. Undoubtedly.
  16. Quite a few comments in this thread which must have been choked through gritted teeth. Give it a rest, some of you. You know who you are.
  17. El Conde A delicious (if you like the taste of blood) satire revolving around Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. No surprise Thatcher was so friendly with him.
  18. This was mooted in the RR staff magazine when I worked there 7 years ago.
  19. It certainly seems to be the case that a lot of people in the world are trying very hard to out-fascist each other.
