  1. Just finished watching it (the beauty of a TIVO box). One of the greatest England wins I've ever seen - up there with Edgbaston 2005. Perhaps not quite the drama of The Oval 1968 (Underwood snagging Inverarity with just 3 balls to go, after most of the last day had been washed out) or Headingley 2019 (Stokes 135*, Leach the best 1* I've ever seen) - but a tremendous win against all the odds.
  2. Yep. That's my thought too (apart from "Mmmm, another beer required")
  3. Whilst I appreciate that the above post is made in jest, 'Sack Warne' isn't an option, is it? Last week, it was 'revealed' that we are having to juggle finances between a so-called 'loan pot' and 'perm pot' to get anyone (CBT) through the door - I would think it highly unlikely, under the circumstances, that we have a 'Sack Warne' pot.
  4. I'm all for AI - purely because there's so little of the natural variety.
  5. Still hundreds of pages short of the Thorne thread. Make an effort.
  6. Sarah Connor's looking a bit worried.
  7. Seeing as Everton were originally a church team, they'll probably get away with it then.
  8. I have it on good authority that the implied sexual assault was by mutual consent.
  9. Put Netanyahu on an island all by himself and 90% of the problem will eventually go away.
  10. Still only on season 3 at the moment, but even one or two of the early ones seem a little 'extreme'.
  11. I'm 25 years late, but the Memsahib and I have started watching 'Silent Witness' in the past week. Really enjoying some of the stories.
  12. Youghal? I snapped this pic a few years ago...
  13. Oh, for goodness sake, don't say that. You will totally shatter the illusions of the Warne-haters who would otherwise continually maintain that every goal we concede is the fault of the management being continually out-thought by the opposition boss, whose 'cunning plan' would have inevitably resulted in failure if only Clowes had only had the foresight to have given the job to one of our Championship Manager 01/02 experts.
  14. It's an 'intelligence' thing, coupled with peer pressure. A bit like the person who says "Here, hold my beer and watch this".
  15. It's funny how different people see performances differently. My dad always thought that McGovern was rubbish.
  16. The character shown by management and players alike is exemplary. They really are a gutsy bunch of shoestring-budget journeymen and kids - and for the moment, that's enough for me. After our shaky start to the season, some seemed to be suggesting a struggle at t'other end of the table would be our likely outcome.
  17. From reading this thread, I have to assume that it was one of the worst performances ever by a Derby County side - yet we somehow fluked a win. Is that a fair assessment? /still not well enough to attend in person - just in spirit.
  18. Big quake under Bardarbunga today too. The big fellow's jealous of the attention that Reykjanes is getting.
  19. The fiery orange lagoon, on the other hand... IMO, the Blue Lagoon will be unlikely to ever re-open.
