Why the laugh roy , are you saying you don’t want players leaving everything on the pitch ? Warne says that along with other comments regards what players lacked or did well in a game ,
football like many sports has moved on to a point where players have to be extreme athletes with diet and science thrown in before they even have half a chance of competing at any decent level , even the great pep and klopp carry no passengers , every one of they’re players have to give what Warne is asking of ours , yet you seem to know better , you don’t want our manager demanding that of our players , how about our fans , should they be demanding / expecting that of our players ,
you don’t half say some silly stuff in the blind pursuit of your Warne out agenda😂😂😂😂

FlyBritishMidland reacted to Archied in Paul Warne
Ok change it to give everything you’ve got , leave everything on the pitch ect ect ect , im not sick of hearing that , it’s what I want from every player that pulls on our shirt , perhaps we would be better with a manager that tells us he wants the players giving 75% 😂😂😂😂😂,
seen plenty of comments after games saying how disgusting that our players don’t even look like they are trying

You think his style of football is dire and really that’s the crux of it but the truth is you don’t go to games so I’m not really sure you have much to complain about , I like many many others shell out for 2 season tickets and do a 6 hour round trip , if I was clowes I know who I would be most bothered about , and before the half fan ect moans roll out it’s just the cold hard truth

I do struggle to see how managers have a 'ceiling' in all honesty, he was promoted in league one because he had a budget that afforded him to compete towards the top end. In the Championship, he had the smallest budget in the league but as I said: was competitive in each season - two points off safety in one season, four in another.
Rotherham in their first full season without Warne finished 24 points off safety in the Championship to give a little context.
For me, that's actually an insight to show the job he did at Rotherham was nothing short of excellent. He got the most out of the players he had, he recruited well and kept them on task. All qualities we will need from him this season.

I am not guessing that Paul Warne got us promoted and a few weeks later, a vocal minority are calling for his head. I could understand it if he'd spent millions or been standing still for several years, but in this context, it's just bizarre.

I've said it once and will say it again, some, not all, but some of our fans are morons who do not deserve nice things.
They will find anything and everything to moan about and chuck at the club they support. We have enough from outside the club with rival fans, the supposed efl hatred of the club, rival owners seemingly wanting us to go out of business and when we sign a centre back from a top 4 prem club who has played Premier league and champions league football with distinction thsts the beet they come up with.
Utter drivel and our fans need to start calling them out on here, twitter or wherever.

Absolutely boggles my mind how any reporter on Twitter can just mention derby or say #DCFC and then if he doesn’t end up here fans automatically think we missed out on them and they were first choice for us.

Just waiting for us to sign a 14 year old from Skonto Riga as our striker because Man United buy him for 100m in 2026

We always reflect on Derby cannot attract over Oxford but look at the other names linked. Sunderland, West Brom, Pompey.
Sunderland flying. West Brom play offs last year.
Yet he appears to be choosing Oxford.
Only conclusion...he doesn't like Paul Warne of course.

I find the strength of feeling against Paul Warne a bit perplexing. He's the first manager to get us promoted since Billy Davies. I suspect that he's got a lower net spend than any Derby manager since Tim Ward.
He's earned the right to a crack at the Championship and I believe the amount of criticism he gets is deeply unfair. Barrow was appalling, but every season throws up a couple of really bad performances. Pep's game would be a lot less beautiful if he had £1.82 to spend.

Bradley 13th with 12 minutes less than Barkhuizen. Try telling me Nyambe and Adams weren't good signings.
I make no claim that the recruitment was a roaring success, but it was better than your rather simplistic benchmark suggests. He also got a very useful second-wind out of Korey Smith when many on here were screaming "get rid".

Warne hit nail on the head in that interview - “we are in the early stages of building the club back up again and not in a position to go out and sign 3 players for £2m-£3m” that’s what a good few clubs in the championship are doing.

He said in about 3 interviews as well I think the route Mel wanted to go down ie the academy rowett felt he wasn’t up to it and also little money to spend. We then got frank lampard in and Mel spent a tonne again which I think rowett said if he had known that now he would have stayed. Stoke came knocking with parachute money and I think Robert thought he had a better chance getting them up

But there’s something missing there Barney … Most discussions start off with how we played, did this player or that player perform well or should they have been in the side. Then there might be a discussion about whether the set up, subs or tactics were right or wrong. Clearly we aren’t all going to have the same view. The label of anti Warne gets attached because there are those posters who see everything that went right as either down to luck or that an individual player did well. Whilst everything that went wrong is down to the manager. They just want rid and will find every stick possible. In all honesty they are boring. It’s so predictable what they are going to say. On the other side, I think some posters (me included) end up defending Warne because the quality of criticism is so poor and one eyed.
Let’s look at Steve Mac 1 .. A good team that did play it pretty well on the grass but let’s not forget that there was no alternative system .. we were forever trying to find a DM because they always got injured. Then when certain sides neutered Chris Martins hold up .. what then ? It was dull, we had no cutting edge. Overall it was pretty good and I enjoyed it. But was it that great ? and remember that was from a club that had been stable but underperforming for a while. He had the tools for improving potential.
Warne is playing catch up in a very difficult financial period for lower league football and for Derby County. I don’t know if Warne is that good and I won’t know until this season draws to a close. To me, whatever your views on style or recruitment or team selection it’s churlish and stupid to be wanting a manager removed after one disappointing game .. and this is what many of the naysayers want. Lose a match and we get another gotcha session. It’s boring.

So who would fans want as Warne's replacement? I was always told if you're going to replace something then that replacement as to be an improvement, or there's no point in replacing it.
What would fans think they'll get from a new improved manager? Maybe the ability to get the current players, who some posters on here believe are either of a Division One standard or lower, or to old, playing attractive attacking football. Find a 20 goal striker, a pacy centre back and for good measure a goal scoring midfielder, that many believe we need to be competitive. Which should be a piece of cake with the transfer window firmly closed. If he can find those three players on the free agent list, then he'd be more than an outstanding manager, he'd be a miracle worker. And if he his a miracle worker, have we the finances to pay the wages of these players?
If Mr Clowes did decide to replace Warne. Who's available, because It's unlikely our finances would stretch to paying off Warne as well as paying out the compensation required to free any manager presently employed, which would instantly reduce the list of candidates to those presently unemployed. That list will be further reduced by who of those on the list are actually capable of doing the job? If a short list of candidates can even be compiled, would any of those listed actually want the job and could we afford their wages?
I can't come up with one name never mind a short list of names. I await to hear from the more knowledgeable amongst us to come up with a genuine name for who could be a realistic replacement for Warne.
What happens if this new improved manager can't do what it said on the tin? Do we go back to the hire and fire policy we had under Morris? Probably not, as our new owner won't want to finance such a policy.
While it may well be a hard and difficult season for us to get through. Unless there's a plausible replacement for Warne. Then I don't see the point of not only changing the manager but what will also be a significant portion of the management team.
So until someone comes up with the plausible name of who'll replace him. Then I'm happy to stick with Warne. A manager who no matter what some people think, as proven he can get results with this squad. The recruitment of new players may be questionable, is this just down to him or does our recruitment team bear some of the responsibility. Even if he can't bring in the extra players most of us think we need. I think he is capable of getting this current squad playing at the levels needed to be competitive in the Championship.
