I know he’s not everyone’s idea of reliable but Alan Nixon says in a Tweet about an hour old that the deadline was today not yesterday. Some believe he was being leaked info from the EFL directly so may be accurate on that point…or may not ??‍♂️

Sorry to be a nuisance.....have Quantuma explained why they missed yesterday's deadline regards proof of funding and do we have any further updates

Yes you're a nuisance, So here's where we are.
    1. No, No explanation from Q as to why there was no update on funding
    2. Mr Hare from the BBC has said on Twitter...Q have reassured some people that the PB will be announced later this week
    3. Happy now ?

I agree with most of that but he has been our most potent attacking outlet this season, probably the lack of other attacking threat in the team does tend to flatter this situation somewhat.
He is also the club captain which again is a pivotal role in the team and presumably Rooney gave it to him for leadership qualities which he saw in Lawrence.
All of the above makes his non availability to the club during a crucial phase down to what basically was his own petulance pretty unacceptable.

It kind of both is and isn't. It's based on something called regression to the mean. Managers are often sacked when teams have had a run of underperforming. So it is likely that their form will shortly return to their true ability.
Therefore the new manager will likely get better results than the previous manager did in their last few games. However, it is also true that if the manager hadn't been sacked, they also would have likely got improved results.
So yes, there is such a thing as new manager bounce, but no, it isn't necessarily anything to do with the change in manager.

Do Bruce and West Brom now dispel the urban myth of a new manager bounce

Crivens man. Its patently obvious what the point of the EFL issuing the statement now is, read between the lines - you've had a month to submit evidence so why are you leaving it to the final knockings to do this.

Got lost in the post. There's a novel excuse I haven't heard in a while.
Can't believe the EFl are that dumb enough to start making a load of noise about not receiving information that they've overlooked that they've actually received.
Fraid this time the blame lies with the Administrators not the EFL.

Will they invest more though going forward though ?
Seems like we've attracted a bunch of tyre kickers who are trying to get something for nothing which doesn't bode well for the future.

They've accepted it as they've all decided that they won't pay the amount of money required for the club to avoid another points deduction.
Is accepted the correct word to use in that case?

So I am as anti-EFL as anyone; they're not fit for purpose.
But I cannot understand the anger over their statement today. Any anger should be aimed squarely at the Administrators.
They had an extension to proving we had funding for the rest of the season that took them to today. At the very least, they should have updated the EFL. Be nice if they also updated Rooney and the fans but I no longer expect that courtesy.
Some on here have asked why some others of us are really worried by this statement today. Well to start with, it was a deadline to prove that we could finish the season. Without such proof, there is a danger of us being thrown out of the league. If that's not bad enough, the delay may indicate that none of the bidders, if there are any, have reached the minimum "price". If that's Ashley playing his game of bidding as little as possible, that doesn't auger well for the future either does it?

The point of it is to do exactly what they intended to do which is put in the public domain that our administrators have neither shown them proof of funding for the rest of the season by an agreed deadline and also don't have a preferred bidder in place yet.
If you agree to a deadline why the hell would you then not go back to submit the necessary evidence by that deadline and have the other party chase you for it. Its weird.

Initial comment was that they were poo stirring by releasing that statement.
If its true how can it be poo stirring.

Playing devils advocate what is the administrators advantage to be levered by leaving it right down to the last minute.

Let's be honest, even if we come up short on the money required, the EFL will come up with a fudge to allow us to see the season out.
Anything else would be a nightmare for them, with lawyers for the other 23 clubs coming at them from all angles. It'll be cheaper and easier all round to somehow allow us to finish the season, then finish the club itself.
  22. Cheers

I think I managed not to look for about 20 minutes. Perhaps re the deadline its because Q do expect to announce something today. With speed of how EFL react for them to issue that statement this afternoon must have been drafted and signed off over the first G&T before lunch before someone made it look pretty, fiddled with the formatting etc. if something being announced tonight then why would Q stop what they are doing to issue a mini statement? Still trying to keep the faith!!
