U23s are playing Chelsea tonight at 19.00. They’ve been massively improved recently so hoping for a good result and get off the bottom. Be very curious to see if the likes of Sibley and Watson are playing again

I like Roos. You wouldn’t expect Tom Lawrence to perform like KDB so you can’t expect Roos to perform like Ederson
When I see the keepers we play against, I actually think Roos is above average for this league.
Didn’t realise he was out of contract in the summer- like so many

I am getting Unauthorized country. We're sorry, this content is only available in certain countries.
I am in Canada and always been able to watch U23s before
Says the exact same for me in Manchester!

Are the 23s not on tonight? Not playing on the website

yes, it's just been tweaked, now 25 players who have started 3 league games
Ahh that’s interesting, thanks mate

With Thompson playing, are we no longer under embargo??

I believe so. Could only offer 1 year deals under the embargo. Massive few months coming up to extend those deals.
I see him as more of a deep lying playmaker
Lol just read this, ignore my question

It's only Bielik, Bird, Knight, Sibley and Jozwiak contracted beyond the summer as things stand.
I thought Buchanan was- uh oh
What about the likes of Watson, Thompson, Cashin and Stretton? Are you including them?
-
Hopefully if the club is bought, there won’t be the necessity to sell off youngsters
It will certainly make it more likely we’ll get moneys worth for them
Isnt it onlyFesty who’s contract runs out next summer
-
I would like to think they’d lean heavily on the academy in League 1 but it’s entirely dependent on the owner and how much they want to invest in the playing squad
I personally think it wouldn’t be terrible timing for the likes of Thompson, Stretton etc who would perform well in league 1 and would get a lot of game time compared to if we stayed up

I’m inclined to agree. He doesn’t look particularly tall in the goal, I would have said under 6foot
In fairness, I actually thought Jonny Mitchell was quite tall but he obviously didn’t cut it in other ways sadly

Byrne suspended for this one… Ebosele to come in?

Rams to win this one. Been to quite a few of the PNE games in recent years and they seem to follow a similar pattern… preston look decent, take none of their chances and we Nick it.
I believe they beat us last season, mind

23 players of 'Professional Standing is the maximum number that a club can "staff up" to. If a club already has .23 players of professional standing, it can't bring any further players into the squad, but there's no regulation that says if a L/T injured player is fit again, the club has to get rid of another player if they want to use them.
I'm sure Steve Gibson will be on it like a car bonnet though if we try it.
This was my interpretation as well. Also, listening to Rooney I expect Kazim back in the next 3 or 4 weeks. Not so much Bielik. I wonder if he himself will be more cautious this time round after doing it again. God I hope he can stay fit once he’s back

We always beat Preston. 2-1 fgs Sibley

100% agree, should probably be 3-0. Great first half
-
Seeing as 18 out of 24 clubs have players wage bills over 100% of their entire revenue, I’m holding out hope that other clubs will be deducted points too
-
Allsop also made an inexcusable mistake earlier in the game which should have resulted in a goal for them but Cashin saved the day- not impressed with Allsop thus far
The cross from Williams for Bardell’s cross was top drawer
-
If we are in an embargo, the academy could be huge.
If we lose our Cat 1 status, there will be little left to take pride in (about the club or personally) -

We were much improved after the break and were actually the more likely side to score. With the number of u23's we have in the first team squad it obviously weakens us in this u23 Premier League 2 division. A straight match up between Everton's best u23's and ours would probably see us run out impressive winners.
From what I've seen previously and last night I have to question why we released Cameron Cresswell yet retained Cybulski. The former looked to be a much better forward.
In fairness, cybulski is not yet 19 and clearly has some scope to fill out physically
Cresswell is pushing 22 and that three years is huge early in the career
Im holding out hope for big Bart

This was the ad below @MuespachRam post above ? Tom looks like he’s trying to pretend he’s not bothered

He can’t play them in the first team as we haven’t got a space in the allowed limits. So the only football they can play is U23
Yeah I think I misinterpreted what he meant lol I thought he meant he couldn’t play them at all in case they get injured and he needs them

Bart’s reaction. Seems a charismatic young man. It’s so rare not to hear the same cliches trotted out
