Any chance that Gibson and Ashley are mates? Conspiracy theory that Gibson gets Ashley to put in fake interest in order to delay the preferred bid going through..

    This is what I was just thinking. If I step back and look dispassionately at it;
    1) we are asking EFL to allow us to spend money to sign/register players.
    2) EFL know we cannot make it through season without more funds.
    3) Funds come from new owner or sales.
    4) We need new owner or sales.
As long as (big uncertain area of debate/argument/speculation on here) EFL are not obstructing club sale* then…
    5) We need to crack on with club sale or sell players…. We new this all along.
    *Key thing is then this..

If we're waiting for Ashley to place a formal bid, we won't be able to announce him as PB. I doubt it's the EFL holding it up, as stated by the admin team

Percy and Nixon essentially saying the same thing, but one put a dramatic slant on it.
What Percy reports makes sense... EFL need proof we can afford to keep Jagielka before his contract is extended. This basically means we need to announce a PB and get that £5m deposit before we can get anyone in.
I wonder how this impacts the signing of Fielding ?

The Gibson issue may go away very quickly if the PB is announced, he is using his claim to slow the process down. He needs his bluff calling, get the PB in then tell him to take it to arbitration/Court if he wants. He knows he won't win any case should he do it, otherwise he would have pushed it further by now. A I have said it isn't about money, it is about getting us relegated. He isn't necessarily greedy, just spiteful.

just on the Wycombe and Boro "football creditors" thing.
At present they are not football creditors, or creditors of any kind.
    But!
If the club comes out of insovancy, and their claims are found to have merits either by negotiation or in court, they are due to be paid in full by a solvent business - insisting on a football creditors status does not improve the position of Boro or Wycombe or legitimise their claims and there can be no legal basis to regard them as creditors.
They might be regarded as businesses we are in dispute with, but that is not the same thing.

This (Telegraph ? even if true) has no bearing directly on naming a preferred bidder right? Surely admin don’t need permission to name their preference.
Need to check they have funds (which we know was requirement to see books). ✅
Need to pass fit and proper test. Difficult to see an issue with the named individuals.✅.
Could be a small delay to resigning Jags at worse? (Optimism gland swelling this evening) ?

Well this is exactly what I was questioning earlier and was told not to bother by another poster.
But i am bothered. Very bothered. This is my football club and the EFL has been ducking us around for the last two years and they still are. Rooney said he was waiting for decisions from the EFL in the context of naming a preferred bidder. Like you, I can see no reason or anything that it is antything to do with EFL who the admin team's preferred bidder is.  Sure they will ultimately have to approve the fit and proper test but that should be a formality. At this stage , not even that should be an issue, it's purely down to the admin team trying to do the best thing for the creditors, which is their job.

I suspect this may have on item on the agenda anyway.  And I think the administrators were asked to provide proof funds we could complete the season when they were appointed in the event a sale didn’t go through before the end of the season.
He says Ashley is considering a bid, so in his view means it’s not yet in.  You could then draw the conclusion that it’s the Appleby, Rush & Moxey triumvirate who are the PB.  As Moxey is on the EFL Committee, all have experience of running a football club do we really think this would be an issue?
He also states that the ‘Boro and Wycombe issues are a stumbling block, which the administrators have confirmed it isn’t.
A regurgitation of old stuff issued at a time to make it looks like it’s new and “exclusive”.  And if it really did come out of the meeting things like that are usually preceded with the phrase “a source close to the EFL said……”.
    Rant over ?!!

    It's nothing new or surprising.
The club is in insolvency and wants to sign players and extensions - being asked "and can you pay for that?" Before the EFL agree to the contract is in line with their process for insovant clubs - and DCFC and the administrators know that.
