  1. Same here. Me and kids were wondering why the announcer was totally clear but @sage nearly impossible to hear.
  2. You need to blend in with the home crowd so will have to be an obscene gesture.
  3. Maybe Israel could bomb the areas where many of the teenage girls who recently protested against the government come from? That will learn them.
  4. It's because you've posted a lot on this forum and have articulate and seemingly well considered views. You do tred the line on arrogance though, which winds people up, especially when you seem to be posting just to get reactions. Why post the same opinion on next season in the matchday thread every time we win? It's not even relevant to the match. The people who post personal remarks about Warne and players are nobodies, no one really cares what they say. You are a celebrity on here. With great power come great responsibility.
  5. Great day today. My kids loved it and one of them bought himself a lovely black, green and white Derby tracksuit style top. Great win and loved the tenseness at the end until Bolton result came in. Loved Bradley scoring his first, let alone his second. He was pleased and most the crowd seemed too. Was thinking about some of his haters on here, but can't be bothered to read their expected comments pre-match. I wondered if one of them had made the game when in the first half, Thompson let a pass get past him and go out for a throw near the left back position. "You're sht Thompson" shouted some moron in a grim, nasalish Notts accent. We had scored the 2nd about 5 minutes earlier. Someone gave the fool some stick, to which he responded "Well, he is sht". Hope they haven't got a ticket for the last game.
  6. I wouldn't say deflating. Maybe more infantile and offensive.
  7. So you slag him off nearly every week, and Warne for selecting him, regardless of how he actually plays and how he had been clearly improving for a while now after a poor start. Then he scores 2 goals, and suddenly you think he is a leader an potential captain material? Your opinions are obviously built on not a lot. Who would have thought it.
  8. First home game of the season for me today. Kids are getting into the promotion push though and looking forward to it. I got to away matches at Oxford and Charlton though, so 100% record so far.
  9. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/apr/13/liz-truss-book-says-husband-predicted-premiership-would-all-end-in-tears Noting that the first leadership hustings against Sunak was held at Elland Road, home of Leeds United, in the city where she grew up, Truss writes: “In my speech there, I made reference to Don Revie, the legendary manager of the 1970s Leeds team that had won the league who then went on to manage England.” Clough, Truss writes, “took over from Revie at the club in 1974. As dramatised in the film The Damned United, Clough tried to shake up the team and get them to play better … the players rebelled and Clough was sacked after just 44 days. “In the final days of my premiership, I had said to my private secretary, Nick Catsaras: ‘If the Conservative party bin me after six weeks and I’m the Brian Clough of prime ministers, then so be it.’ I lasted 49 days.” I guess the only real difference between Clough and Truss is that Brian had major success before and after the period Truss is referring too. I'm not really sure about the preceeding Don Revie success analogy beforehand too. Maybe Gary Monk might be a better example of a Leeds manager. Ok for a bit, didn't last long at Leeds, then disappeared until the last few weeks.
  10. Maybe in for Pigeon Street? Although Thundercats was a little too homoerotic for me. I preferred lesbian icon Long Distance Clara.
  11. 80s kids TV version: Bertha Willy Fog Dogtanian Rentaghost Pigeon Street
  12. Ridiculous. You haven't included Jimbo and the Jetset with that username?!
  13. Just had a look through your recent posts. Woeful.
  14. Yeah, but we were poor then, back in the top division. Travelling army is too big these days!
  15. A guy I know who is a Wycombe fan has been saying all season that they have changed/been trying to change their style of play, which is a reason why they aren't been as successful as previous seasons. I can't remember much about the home game earlier in the season, but don't think tonight's game will be the typical Wycombe we've seen in previous seasons, especially at their place. This will hopefully help us, as we didn't do well against them. However, we are more equipped to deal with that sort of threat now though.
  16. Maybe a new thread needed? Things you grew up believing that you still don't know if true!
  17. I still believe it's bad for you if you swallow it. Is that true?
  18. All true, but it's even more of a must win for Bolton first, not just to prevent themselves falling further behind us, but they still have Pompey and Peteboro to play in their final 5 games. In Bolton's last 5 games, they've won 2, drew 2 and lost 1. They may go on a win all 5, making it 6 wins on the row to finish with, but they aren't exactly in the type of form that suggests they will do that, especially with 2 top teams left to play (Peteboro might be resting by final game though). Based on both our recent and longer term results, winning our 4 seems much more doable, based on who we are playing. Wycombe away is toughest game, but their Cup final tips it more in our favour. Cambridge will probably be safe on final day too. 4 teams 10th and below, probably with nothing to play for, is an attractive set of fixtures.
  19. Surely someone from Lincoln must be included?
  20. What you wrote makes perfect sense. However, this is Wycombe. They would be in the Champions League semi final, if it hadn't been for Clowes and Warne and all their cheating. Yes, a trophy would be nice. But hell hath no fury like a chair scorned 2 seasons before they went down.
  21. Might be worth walking up to Wembley Central and getting the overland back to Euston. I've gone there after playoff finals and relatively quiet.
  22. Wycombe going to have issues with the EFL now too. Can't believe they scheduled their cup final just a few days after a cup final.
  23. I guess Egg and Spoon racing is sort of a sport?
  24. A great game and a really good result. Maybe we should all not reply to Bris and definitely not that ap thing. There are going to be lots of fans returning from the game, full of excitement or pride or disappointment, wondering why this matchday thread is not about the game.
