  1. You say the same garbage every week. We don't usually lose, so you are usually wrong.
  2. Do you so know little about football that if someone points out that Sibley is not a full back, and hence we are not playing with 5 at the back, that you post a sarcastic response that the poster thinks of themselves as some sort of tactical genius. In the same way that posters continually moan about Warne's press conference, there are also people who think 3 cbs equals a highly defensive 5 at the back. As was mentiond earlier in this thread, thess debates are so tiresome and moronic. Good debates are around the style of play, which system suits our players the best, do we have the right players, is the manager improving the players etc. "Why does Warne say the opposition are good" and "why are playing 5 across the back vs this team" is just really boring. Have we ever played 5 at the back this season? We have either played 2 cbs and 2 full backs, or we play 3 cbs with 2 high wing backs.
  3. I usually listen to non-fiction on Audible, but got Circe to listen too as ended up with a few credits to burn. I'll try and get round to listening to it sooner than planned now! Thanks.
  4. I'm reading Lessons by Ian McEwan. I think I've read all his books and this might be one of the best.
  5. I read Ariadne by Jennifer Saint, which expanded on the Greek Myth of Minatour story. Have you read or similar. I was thinking of getting Song of Achilles next in this genre.
  6. Ah good, I hadn't just dreamt it. Don't think location is a big issue, unless logistically it gets full on m, ie regular in-person meetings, striker pulls a hammy in warm up and you are needed on bench etc
  7. Reckon @Tamworthram fits the bill for this. I might be wrong but think they have mentioned about having this sort of experience too.
  8. There seems to be 2 different aspects to this never ending debate. One of them is "Has Twitter is becoming a hopeless platform to use since Musk has took over?" The other one is "Is Musk a champion of free speech or a vile moron actively encouraging and amplifying conspiracy theories and extreme points of view." I think @David has made a few posts on the first point, whilst deliberatley calling out it's nothing to do with the second. Is there anyone who does believe Musk is a legend for his free speech crusade, but also thinks he has turned Twitter into a bit of mess? Conversely, does anyone depise Musk but think his new and improved Twitter is amazing from a functional perspective?
  9. We are lucky to have both high quality local radio coverage and club's own coverage. Probably 2 more quality outputs than most other club's supporters get. Yet still we moan and moan. Struggle that people actually refuse to listen to Radio Derby coverage because of who is commentating. Don't you want to follow the game? What do you do instead? Refresh BBC text commentary?
  10. Ah of course Homeland gets into my top 10. Think the 2nd one was a bit weak, but then changed into almost a different show.
  11. This thread keeps reminding me to watch Gomarrah, I really should. To help me narrow this down, I've gone back to look at "The Ultimate Watchlist" you can find on Now TV. It's got all these with the starred ones definitely in my own top 10... Sopranos Succession* Game of Thrones Band of Brothers The Wire* Sherlock Six Feet Under* The Leftovers* Boardwalk Empire Justified Big Little Lies The Deuce (It's also got brilliant stand alone series Watchmen, Chernobyl, The Last of Us, Mare of Easttown, The Night Of, True Detective plus loads of comedies too) If you have never watched many of these, they are yours for approx the price of 2 pints a month. Sopranos-it is obvioulsy great, but I'm not sure it's 100% in my top 10. I did watch it late though, so it was hyped to death already. But so was the Wire and it was even better than I hoped I'd probably have Breaking Bad + Better Call Saul and Sons of Anarchy + Mayans in as 2 entries. Which is maybe cheating. The This is England spinoffs in there too. That leaves me with 3 to choose, with Sopranos maybe included.
  12. Has the next match thread started. If not, please do it in this style!
  13. I think we should replace the match thread with a discussion on Paul Warne's pre and post game comments. That's what we all care about, the onfield action is just a subtext to the main event. Anyway, Charlton next, I wonder what Warne will say pre-game?
  14. Yeah, will be just like Charlton and Exeter then. Your understanding of football is woeful.
  15. Banned from Netherlands for saying Jewish groups were behind Covid conspiracies.
  16. Too biased to be exposed in the Premier League perhaps?
  17. I'm looking forward to the matchday thread tomorrow! Most weeks they are full of how the referee is clearly biased against us. I hope the stewards are ready tomorrow for our conspiracy driven fans, maxed up to the eye balls on Barnsley chops.
  18. I was thinking that. He's from Huddersfield so good chance he's a fan of them. Are space/alt-right fans from Huddy tweeting about how it's an absolute farce he is refereeing? Imagine if a journeyman footballer became a ref. He would be unable to ever run a game based on this thread.
  19. There are probably so many of his prophecies that have come true, it's would be impossible to pick just one.
  20. Ah, the good old days when we had proper anti-semites, rather than today, when questioning if killing 30k people civillians is even just a good war tactic can be classed as anti-semitic is some quarters.
  21. I don't you realise how pure evil Madley is. And untouchable. He will be even more biased now against us, thanks to Warne's comments and your tweet. I'm thinking of forming a militia to arrest anyone in the uk called Madley, just to be sure none of this hideous mafia family can be called upon to prevent us winning. Can't believe the club haven't already started this to be honest. We laugh at Forest, but there would already be bakeries burning by now.
  22. The ref is the least of our problems...I've just done some research and it turns our Conor Hourihane used to PLAY FOR BARNSLEY! Seriously, I've checked it in a couple of places, he played 112 times for them. Can someone who still uses twitter send this out please? People need to know.
  23. Definitely right about the pub. Plus those weirdos in the pub who talked garbage...their idiotic points of view could be safely laughed at and perhaps they became normal members of society. Now these weirdos can link up with similar weirdos from anywhere in the world, providing a large percentage of extreme online content from a very small handful of actual people. I was visiting my brother over Christmas and when we went to the Coop, he said hello to the Liverpool supporter cashier and commented on Lpool going top of the league. The response from the cashier was along the lines of how some mysterious force called "they" would be fed up because "they" didn't want Liverpool to win the league. It was just a fact of life that their was a conspiracy against Liverpool, although one that still allows them to regularly challenge for trophies. In person, this guy seemed ridiculous and would be laughed at going down the pub and spouting such nonsense. But online, he can join in with 1000s of other similar fools, egged on by clickbait chasing media outlets. Thank god us Derby fans are different. I'm just off now to read the Barnsley Thread. Bet there are lots of great discussions about who should play where and how everyone is getting excited about a big away day...
  24. Glad to see no one on this thread has posted the ref's home address online yet. But it's only Thursday I guess.
