  1. You could probably get an oldish 2nd hand smartphone, although good point about size. The older ones are probably smaller. You could just use it for mp3s, no need for a sim card. Maybe 100 quid, but don't know if mp3s are more than that. Audible is good value on long books. The History of the 2nd World War was a good 37 hours!
  2. Got radio derby on and the final song before 2pm is Simply Red. Seriously, could have played something to get us in the mood!
  3. Interesting question. Why would you not just use a phone though? I have lots of mp3s saved in my spotify account, which I can then access on phone too. Do you have loads of mp3s already, or do you buy them still to avoid the Spotify/Audible subscriptions. Guess you don't have an old iphone lying around?
  4. With all those different retro shirts you can buy these days, it's tricky to know who is who. If we do go up today, I hope the likes of @angieram are careful who they start punching.
  5. You don't know they are about cricket because you don't understand cricket. Or the language they are written in. That final image of the cat dressed in both umpire attire with the above spin doctor joke is simply brilliant. This wouldn't have been possible on the old twitter, where you would have only seen so-called "news" by those msm "journalists". Viva la free speech.
  6. I would usually agree with all that, but all those posts from Cricket Lover shows how they know exactly what content you consume, even if you pretend that is not the case!
  7. Why aren't the likes of Facebook or Tiktok remotely comparable in terms of real-time massive data? And with seemingly so much bot/AI generated content on Twitter, is that really a good dataset to train AI on?
  8. Ex-automatic promotion rivals Barnsley are having a dire time of late. They followed up their big win vs us with a win vs Wycombe. They've then won only 2 of their last 10. If they lose to Blackpool today and Lincoln beat Cheltenham, the table going into final day will be 5th Barnsley 75 6th Lincoln 74 7th Oxford 74 8th Blackpool 73 Lincoln's GD is not really catchable, Oxford's is 2nd, Barnsley and Blackpool's will be about the same, approx 3 behind Oxford. If we did end up in 3rd, could be playing someone we didn't expect.
  9. Does anyone know the open top bus route when we win the Premier League? Will it start or end at the ground? Will Greggs be open? It will be a disgrace if Greggs is shut as it's not even a matchday.
  10. Same here. I'm thinking future minibus rides to France/Italy in Champions League?
  11. These Portsmouth lot all seem pretty decent.
  12. Deep, emotional, melodramatic adverts, spanning a person's/family's life. Advertising some garbage like McDonalds or kitchen surface cleaner. My aim in life is to never watch a Xmas John Lewis advert. Still haven't. Betting adverts. Especially "it matters more when there is money on it". Advertised by presenters who work with Paul Merson shown on programmes with Paul Merson in them. Surely a slogan that should be banned. I think the only adverts I do ever see are during the cricket as they are too short to bother turning over or muting. I think the advertising that works for me is in the underground stations in London. They usually are for films/music/events etc I haven't heard of and I will actually look them up.
  13. You shouldn't have moved to the US. You shouldn't have moved to Cornwall. A true fan would live round the back of Frankie & Benny's, then spend every game moaning at the players, going for food at 35 mins, before leaving on the 80 min mark.
  14. It could be that, or it could be "the conspiracy theory"?
  15. Great result! The Bolton forum must be in meltdown. "Why do we always mess it up?" "If we can't beat Shrewsbury, we don't deserve to go up." "We have the best squad in the league, the manager is the problem." Etc etc
  16. @DavesaRam the above is not an opinion. You are prestenting it as what actually happened. When you are challenged on it, you then can't use the tired defence of "isn't this forum supposed to be about opinions?" That is a poor defence when someone gives an opinion, then is unable to provide anything to back it up. It's an even worse defence in response to something that has been claimed as factual.
  17. Yes, but many people who have been watching Derby for that long regularly experience our "worst ever performance", so no surprise they think the quality is bad!!
  18. That is a great point and something the more tedious Warne critics often seem to forget: there is another team playing too! I suppose if you go into the season thinking "we are the famous Derby County, we'll just brush these insignificant little minnows away" then you are probably going to disappointed when you don't win every game 6-0 looking like Brazil in the 70s. At the same time though, teams have often come to Pride Park and looked to keep it very tight. They did the same once we became good under Steve Mac 1, which is why we never looked quite as amazing under him as when he first joined. As teams set up to frustrate us, our passing style suffered and we really could have done with options to get it wide and crossed into the box in the air. We became a better team this season away from home, where our style was more suited to teams coming onto us more. We've rarely ever/never been so good away from home, but less people see these games live. We've struggled a bit more away recently, as even the home teams have set up to frustrate us too. The Stevenage nadir was probably because it was Stevenage, maybe the worst team for us to play away to for the way we setup. Even on Saturday, we raced into a 2 goal lead, never looked in any trouble at all, yet people are genuinely concerned we didn't score from open play! Should we have thrown men recklessly forward, risking a counter attack, but hoping one of those extra players could have converted at least on of the many crosses flashed across the goal? I guess Saturday doesn't really count though, as it was "only" Leighton Orient, "the sort of team we should be beating". Even though they have taken points off our promotion rivals when we've beaten them twice. As other posters have said, it's a shame that some posters seem to have taken so little joy from what could be our first promotion in nearly 20 years. I don't know where this purity in football took hold. After what we've been thru, you'd think people would be even more thankful for potential success. I don't remember any of it when we went up with Billy. It's like West Ham fans who want Moyes gone...these are glory years for West Ham. They won a European Trophy last year and have barely got close to winning anything in decades. Anyway, big thanks to Warne and his team for getting us this close.
  19. I think the time to have this discussion is over the summer. The time to be worried is mid-August if we haven't bought anyone in. Imagine what we would say about Forest Fans if they were in this position talking about next season.
  20. I made no reference whatsover to the reaction your posts get. Not sure why you mentioned that. I just think you look rather foolish for continually posting bile vs the likes of Bradley, then just because he scores two goals, he suddenly becomes a potential leader. The negativity you've seen on the field has got us to 2nd and 2 wins from promotion. If we do go up, will you instantly post how you were continually wrong about Warne and the promotion shows he has done a great job. Please tell me the words for people like me, so we don't have to read anymore of your posts. I would be genuinely interested to see what those words ars, as your complaints of me are very mild, yet would result in bannable insults.
  21. Same here. Me and kids were wondering why the announcer was totally clear but @sage nearly impossible to hear.
