  1. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of supporters going onto the pitch and would have preferred a lap of honour of the players, it looked amazing from the West Upper with all the smoke and bouncing.
TBH, I was just pleased to see any of it as I only arrived at the ground with twenty minutes to go as Sky changing the kick-off time made the game coincide with my first Wolf Run of the year😡

If I’d have gone on the pitch, the stink from all the cow crap that I had to crawl through would have cleared the crowd pretty quickly so that the trophy could have been presented properly 👍

Just out of curiosity where does the ‘buffalo’ thing come from ?

Not 100% - as I heard it in the beer tent pre-match -  but from what I understand, Paul Warne calls it him because of the way he runs🤷

  3. Not related to the betting but the amenities in the Upper West stand get me more and more frustrated each week.
Yesterday, I went to get a beer five minutes before half-time and got served just before the players returned to the pitch. By the time, I’d downed my pint, the second half was already five minutes in. Other clubs seem to be able to provide pre-match and halftime services so much better.

  4. Devastating news. Much love to Daniel’s family and I hope that some comfort is found in the comments left by the members in the forum. I think we’d all agree that you’d have to walk a long way to find a more passionate supporter.
No doubt that B4 will already be having a long, hard word with the good Lord himself to conjure up some Devine intervention to get the Rams promoted this season. He’d have wrapped a Derby scarf around St Peter’s neck on the way in!
I’m so pleased that as much as B4 always poured his positivity onto others, he also felt the love and support of the members on this forum, especially when he felt that he might lose his beloved Rams. We will miss his comments but the scarves, flanges and ballions will always wave in his honour. All the best B4 - although you won’t be in your seat, I’m sure that you’ll be keeping an eye on the PP pitch at 3pm on Saturday afternoons.

  5. Thanks for the replies👍. I’ll give the ticket office a call to see if there is any pro-rata concession, especially as I can evidence that I’ve paid for three games already. If not, at this point, it’s going to be more expensive to buy a season ticket than pay per game, taking into account the one definite game I’m going to miss.

  6. After watching the first three games and being a glutton for punishment, I am considering buying a season ticket in the West Stand. However, on the website, the price remains at the start of the season price of £468. I will call the ticket office in the week to find out more details but is anyone aware of any reduction in the price now that we’re a few games in?

There seems to be very little saving in buying a season ticket at this point (£1.50 a game) if the full price remains - especially as I know I’m definitely going to miss the Northampton match.

I bet there's a mathematical formula that you can enter x, y and z into and it works out the optimum sacking date! 😄

The mathematical formula kicks in when attendances dip below 26,000, especially when the watered down beer isn’t selling at £6 a pint.

I can remember the great bald Eagle having a terrible start to the season, I was at Tranmere away, Stimac debut, he scored we lost 5-1, I think we won 1, drew 1 and lost 3 of our first 5 games that season thats 4 points from 15 , fans screaming for Jimbo to do one, then come May we are promoted, we move to PP, and played some of the best football for years, lets all get behind our club, it's to early to panic, but after what Mel did to us, we must give our club time to recover, and we will. Once A Ram Always A Ram.

I too was at that Tranmere game and remember feeling there was a positive change even though we’d lost 5-1. I was laughed at when I got home and told friends that this central defender was different class after such a heavy defeat!
My younger self wanted Jim Smith out prior to Tranmere - how wrong I was! My older self is prepared to give Paul Warne plenty of time to get things right.

  9. Never seen a reaction like that in the Long Room. It was ‘out’ - no doubt about that. Rules v spirit of the game, I suppose. I think the Aussies would have won without that but didn’t want to take the risk. I wonder if Smith had been captain and it was just after the ball-tampering saga, if the appeal would have been withdrawn.

Makes for an exciting afternoon session for as long as Stokes remains in. Interviews at the end might be interesting. The way that Broad is going at the Aussies, I’ll be betting that he’ll lose his match fee if he gets interviewed.

  10. @loweman2 Looks like you’ve done a really good job on this and thought deeply about the history, heritage and future of DCFC in your considerations.
David Clowes is the same age as me and I remember the centenary kit as something special when it came out because of the coloured sash. Derbyshire use the amber/brown/blue colours for the T20 kits which I think is great.

My only concern with this is if the ground starts looking like a circus with a range of colours. I never liked the Normanton End when it got ‘updated’ with bright stripy colours but each to their own.

Though one of the original early colours, I note that red is not incorporated in the new identity 👍

FFS. Jack Leach has been ruled out if the Ashes series due to a stress fracture ☹

Given the lack of experienced alternatives, and Stokes on going knee issue, I think I'd be inclined to go in with 4 seamers for most of the matches and let Root fill in where required.

If a pitch demands a spinner then it'll have to be the young lad Rehan Ahmed.

I’d be inclined to go with Ahmed - seems that he can bat a bit, too. Though, I’d just be a bit concerned with the lack of experience against the ‘tactics’ of the opposition in an Ashes series. If not, then Moeen who has that bit of leadership quality that might be needed if things get tough.

  12. Ref Watch on Sky was quite interesting this morning. Usually Dermot Gallagher is diligent in defending his fellow referees but couldn’t justify the referees decision regarding Davies yesterday. He said that it wasn’t even a foul!

Regardless of referees though, we finished where we deserved in this division and another year here won’t do any harm. I’ve quite enjoyed this season.

  13. Sorry if this has already been asked or answered - I can’t remember reading it anywhere but after administration, do current sponsorships/deals still exist or are they cancelled/renegotiated.

For example: will Umbro/32Red still be part of shirt design and sponsorship? I assume that any money amounting to the deals are payed season on season but what if 32Red have paid up front for say - 3 years? Can they claim money back as a creditor for services not rendered? Surely the new owner/board would want to negotiate their own deals but then Derby County are not a new company (just a new board) so are sponsorships still honoured?

  14. I feel like it’s coming to a point now where those interested in the purchasing the club will start to withdraw their bids. The bidders are already in a battle with the other parties interested in buying the club without the additional complications. Even to maintain interest in buying will be costing potential bidders time and money - perhaps minimal to them but nonetheless a ball ache with no guarantee in actually achieving preferred bidder status.

Added to the ridiculous compensation claims from the two clubs (of which we know that the EFL will change the rules immediately after resolution to ensure that the entire league doesn’t collapse through unsubstantiated ‘what if’ scenarios resulting in legal action from dozens of clubs towards other clubs) and the fact that MM wants the bidders to pay off his debts and also walk away with a ‘golden handshake’ from them for the ground - as a bidder, I’d be thinking: ‘Is it worth it?’

These bidders are not like us. They don’t have DCFC tattooed on their hearts. They are business people that I’m sure have a lot more going on than Derby County which, from the outside, is sure beginning to look like a lot of hard work for increasingly little gain as time goes on, particularly if the club ends up in League One.

Time is certainly ticking and months in from the start of the admin process, rather than seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, there seems to be more and more loose ends with no-one willing to budge on their current stances despite a lot of sitting around tables. Hopefully, I’m wrong and the bidders will continue to remain competitive with their interest and a new era for the club begins.

However, I know that from my point of view, I ordered an item from Amazon in September from which I’ve just had another email explaining that they’re still trying to obtain it. I’ve just cancelled the order and moved on - I hope that the bidders have more perseverance than me!

  15. I think the new club coming out of this: ‘Derby City’ will have pink shirts as the home kit. The away kit will have white fluffy arms to remind folk of a team called Derby County that were once a team around here.

Never thought after living through the 1984 ‘twenty-four hours to liquidation’, Maxwell and then the amigos, we would find ourselves here again. We can now add the Morris era to this list of financial shenanigans if we get through this. With the amount of debt, the high inevitably of League One and the current financial climate, I’m not sure we will. Has anyone got Stuart Webb’s phone number!

  16. Just had a quick look at the site. Interesting that the pink goalkeeper shirt has nearly sold out. I also figure that the warm-up shirt is selling really well. I guess that we can expect next year’s away kit to be some amalgamation of the two that will look something like a pair of curtains from Man About the House.
