Because all Companies associated with the club and MM have entered administration, including the company that owns the ground.

So MM has put all of his companies into administration because Derby County are in trouble. Can’t understand why he’d do that if there some that are still going operating okay.

The parent club owns it, the parent club is also going into administration.

Loans were taken with the ground/club as security.

If we go into administration the ownership of both passes to MSD.

Doesn’t sound like the football club has any ownership of the stadium

Now, if I waited, and let's say I left that (the stadium) in the football club just for a second, and now was bringing in an initial 12 million pounds a year from running concerts and then chose to pull the stadium out to sell to someone else for 180 million pounds, and then booked that profit, then people would have had an even bigger issue with it.

"We had the stadium valued and the valuation came back. Once it came back, if I had paid a penny less, HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) would have rang me up and said: 'By the way, you have just sold yourself an asset at under value'.

"So on the one hand, I am either going to have to have a debate with HMRC and pay them a cheque, or I am going to have the EFL moaning, or some other club, saying this isn't fair, on the other side."

ge sold it from the club to himself - his own words

Wasn’t it bought via Gellaw Newco 202 Limited - no notice to appoint administrators for that company is there?

from the article at the time Mel explained why he took the stadium out of the football club.

Didnt we take a loan with the stadium as security? Which we now lose to Dell no?

We already lease it from him https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/pride-park-sale-mel-morris-3290644.amp

how can we have taken a loan against a stadium we do not own.

cynic says Mel bought the stadium knowing that if he ever sold Derby he’d always have an income. If EFL punished it for us he’d still have an income if we got points deducted and went down.

in short he guaranteed himself an income if Derby County is around - if liquidated he’s got a huge chunk of land to sell for developments

But that debt is secured against his biggest asset, which he will now lose on the cheap.

    Makes no sense to me.

Just smacks of him being completely desperate to offload a failed project and shaft anyone and everyone in the process.

I think fan reaction will have played a major part in this. He couldn't get enough of it when the majority adored him.

If he owns it personally why would he lose the ground? Didn’t he buy it? He’ll just lease it to us and milk the club again

  6. Administrators

    mel gone

    EFL give points for administration

    new owners

embargo lifted as Mel has gone (EFL beef with Mels methods why punish new owners administration enough)

terrible news but better than dragging it on with EFL a d it happening at the end of the season with higher debts.

  7. Hey up guys,

bsck down to pride park for the Stoke game got tickets in the South Stand.

where is best to park and what time should I arrive. There’s no car park tickets available so need somewhere else and I’ve not been for ages so have no idea.

    Walter Roulstone.

He was an almost ever-present in Derby's first few seasons, so he just might have been the first person in the world to ever play 100 league games. I tried to research it a few years ago, but decided that it would get in the way of drinking.

Unless you had a drink for every player you confirmed he beat to the milestone?

    I don't understand why you'd say that.

If Mel's owed the largest amount, which could be the case, what would administration achieve that he couldn't sort as part of a takeover.

Football debts would be no different, maybe we could screw the taxman and the hundreds of local suppliers for a few quid, I don't see 12 points of gain from those savings.

On a takeover he’d want it paying - under administration he wouldn’t get it all.

We’ve plenty of players to sell - Jozwiak, Knight, Bird, Shinnie, Lawrence, Bielik, the list goes on. At what price though because the administrators would be letting them go at cheap rates come January to get them off the books, bit like Byrne and Marshall.

And at what price does the ground get leased back to us? Maybe an unaffordable price for us, one that makes us nomadic perhaps. We could see if Leicester want us, or Coventry maybe. Notts County perhaps. That would work well.

We actually have done business in this window. Limited, yes; not all the players wanted in numbers and quality perhaps but to say that ‘nothing’ is happening is not true.

Administration is no panacea as we will find out if Mel decides that he’s really had enough. We’d better hope that he doesn’t.

The ground owners wouldn’t make any money if they didn’t lease it to us at a sensible price - sell it knock it down for a development?  They’d make more from a long term lease tbh

administrators dint always sell players if a buyer comes in quick.

it’ll hurt Mels pocket more than the club.

Sell off all our good players on the cheap, still owe all the footballing debts. Seems fairly messy. Oh and Mel would lose the ground to MSD who have security on it for the debt.

We’ve no players left to sell. I’d rather administration and new owners than the current can’t do feck all. Whoever has the ground will lease it back to us.

Imagine if the last day of the season went slightly differently. What mess would we be in?

No mess at all - administration, creditors agreement 10 point deduction new owners

mel on the other hand would have got peanuts from selling us - he’d be in the mess
