FKANorwichExile got a reaction from R@M in Nicest ever Derby players?
As a kid, I used to sneak into the players lounge at the BBG after games to get some autographs. Chris Powell had all the time in the world for me, every week. Some players made it clear it was a chore (but would still sign), but Chris seemed to genuinely enjoy the interaction.
The only negative interaction I had there was with Middlesbrough player Phil Stamp, who already seemed half cut and got a bit aggy because I wasn't interested in his autograph. Arrogant p****.
Of recent years, I've had really good experiences with Curtis Davies, Ian Taylor and Steven Davies (who, for a professional football, was a complete cheapskate but quite shy). I've not met him, but I've been so impressed with the attitude of Ebou Adams and I get the impression he's just a lovely guy.

He’s been round the ground, and was one of the three players Warne spoke to. He wants to be local and be close to family. It’s a strong possibility

Exiled down south, I recently went to a charity match: Saints legends versus IoW legends.
My son, his two friends and me spoke with Matt Oakley for a good few minutes before the players got changed for the game. He was absolutely brilliant with us, just a really nice, genuine guy.
I told him that I was gutted when he left Derby - true, I was. He said he never wanted to leave but when Adam Pearson came in as director from Hull, he was forced out, so he joined his mate, Steve Howard, at Leicester.
I asked him what he thought of wee Billy because I was never a fan. But Matt Oakley said that Billy Davies was brilliant for him, really supportive in the dressing room.
He is now a coach with big Darren Moore at Port Vale. Loving that but agreed with me that the big fellah was poorly treated by both club and fans at Wednesday.
Matt went on to boss the game, MOTM, even with some very good players around him.
One other ex-Ram, who played in the game but for the Isle of Wight team, was none other than Gary Rowett. Again, he had all the time in the world to chat with me and the disabled footballers I was with. Again, I didn't enjoy his time as manager of Derby, but he was great as a player in the Jim Smith era. I have to say though, he was a lovely person with us.

Stuart Armstrong has been released by Southampton , after 200 games at a high level and 50 for Scotland . Yes , l know he is 32 , but to stabilise things for 1 season , could be a game changer . He also has a Law Degree so could also add a bit of brains to the squad .

I feel like there's a top player in there, but it's a huge risk. Unless he's essentially playing for a contract then I don't think we can take the punt. The club have shown they've got a ruthless streak by ditching Gayle, and they've got a team of physios and sports scientists who will be able to give us rough estimate how many games TJJ will be able to play per season. I'd love him to sign and be fit forever more, but I'd also love a lot of things that I've got zero chance of so...

He was excellent in the run-in, and I wonder if he started to exert his experience as we got to the crunch. However, I'd be a lot more confident if our starting back three was Nyambe, Nelson and Cash.
If the rumours of him being unhappy at not being captain are true, though, he may well be looking to join up with his old boss at another good-sized club in Charlton.

Surprised about Korey, everything else is about on par with expectations. Wildsmith was excellent to start the year but there was clearly stuff happening behind the scenes and as soon as his confidence dropped, the clangers began. I like continuity in the squad, but he's definitely upgradeable and I'm excited to see where we go hunting.
Also happy Fozzy is staying, excellent cover and a reliable old head who's never let us down. Get Sibs signed up and I'd be delighted with the base of the squad.

100%. Just imagine how much Cashin must have learned from playing along side him. A true leader and role model.

Alberto Bueno, Cywka and Commons could have taken us at least to the play offs that season but Nigel was incapable of having that much flair in his team and couldn't deal with it.
And he let Commons go far too easily.

Fans shouldn't need to have 5 pints before during and after matches.
I find the whole drinking thing around games a bit sad (in every sense). Not big or clever.

John Eustace was s**** and Omar Mascarell was 10x the player. Robbie Savage single handedly ruined James Bailey's career. For 1 month, we had the most elite strikeforce the club has ever seen in Junior and Mat Svensson. John Brayford left us as the best right back in the Championship for the Premier League. Having failed, he dropped to Nigel Clough in League One rather than return to the Championship. He wasted his entire career following Clough around like a lost puppy. Tom Ince wasn't lazy, he just was tasked with doing different things to Ward/Russell - including playing 90 mins rather than getting subbed off after 60/70min.
