Folk who antagonise animals. Just seen footage of a diver in a shark cage getting attacked by a great white who got into the cage. They lure it to the cage with food and now the shark has injured itself and swims off with blood flooding from a wound it sustained.
can't they just leave the bloody things be? They aren't there for human entertainment , tossers .

I was looking into SJW for some time but ultimately decided to try 5HTP.  I am about a month into using it now and have been pleasantly surprised by the results.  The number of good days has grown and now outweighs bad days by a good margin.  Sleep has also improved greatly, from 3 to 4 hours a night now I am looking at 6 to 7 hours.  It seems a little less prohibitive than SJW in terms of what you can take at the same time (although I am on nothing else), and also does not seem to have the potential side effects either.  I bought online from Natures Best or something like that.  it recommends to take between 1 and 3 tablets a day (I have stuck to two, one in morning, one before bed) for 3 months, then stop taking and see what the effect is.  I will let you know when I get there.  I was getting desperate for some respite from low mood, anxiety and sleep issues.  These are helping no end.

I developed the same thing about 20 years ago. It's never gone away. That's mainly due to me not doing anything about it, apart from a spell of counselling. I just ran away from the problem, and avoided the situations that caused the issue. I've largely done that ever since.
The problem came on unexpectedly (the first time). I remember it well. Totally out of the blue. These days, I'll go out for a meal with my Mrs, but no way, if it was more people. Haven't been in a pub for about 18 years. Don't do social occasions of any kind.
There's probably no point in me trying to do anything about it now. But if you are still young, and wanting to sort it out, I'm sure there are ways to do it. I just don't know what they are! Sorry to be not much help. But I certainly understand what you are talking about.

Despite now having one of those daft hipster efforts, I've only been clean shaven twice in 12 years.  Once for Movember a few years ago, and once when I shaved before a girl I met on holiday came to stay as she didn't like stubble rash...

The last time I was clean shaven was 2008, and even that was only for a few weeks so my beard definitely predates the hipsters!

I've worked in animal rescue shelters since 1998 and the number of dogs we've rehomed that have had to be returned due to sudden behavioural issues that the new owners were seriously concerned about I can count on one hand. Most rescue dogs just require firm and consistent training, an understanding of each individual animal's behavioural problems by the prospective owner and a long term commitment to implement these.
My bug bear is thick people who get pups such as Akitas then let them do what they want and 6 months later when it's the size of a lion and all over the shop and they can't cope they expect rescue centres to take them in and miraculously turn them into an instant rehomable proposition overnight. Jeez. Brains in their arses.
Also people who ring up and say they are moving house and can't take a dog so can we take it from them. Not a problem with this at all, that's what we are here for. Then you ask, "when are you moving?".
    "Tomorrow" comes the reply.
Presumably they've known about their impending move for more than one day so why not ring once they had found out?! It would give us time to find and allocate space.
Then we say we cannot take it, it will have to go on the waiting list as there is no room at the centre and then you get abuse and the "you're supposed to care about animals aren't you?" line.
P*** off you waste of space.
    Please.

Have you tried a light box Boycie? If you get a good one they can really help. They are expensive mind. I too am affected by the endless greyness of winter and for days on end you can't see the sky, just a blanket of grey cloud. I think it's hibernation mode which is natural but in some people they are more sensitive to it yet have to keep functioning when all they want to do is rest / sleep or not do much. It's about battling against your body which is always tough but hope it doesn't affect you too much over the winter.
Also there are some herbal supplements you can take for lifting mood. St Johns Wort is excellent so i'm told but not if you are on any other medication though. It interacts with some anti depressants and other similar types of medications but if you aren't taking owt then should be fine.

Wow I was literally now going to ask if anyone had experience of the effectiveness of St John's Wort.
I am certainly not claiming to be depressed but over the last few weeks I have been experiencing occasional days of low mood. Sometimes I don't realise it until the next day when I wake up fine and other times I know I'm being a miserable bar steward but can't seem to do anything about it. Then I get angry with myself for not being able to snap out of it. I haven't experienced it before - it's like it feels like I'm under a blanket or something & I'm trying and failing to lift it off me.
Mrs Wolfie has suggested taking SJW but I have no experience of it. I was once on anti-anxiety medication 10 years or so ago but don't really like popping pills. I weaned myself off that medication as soon as I felt I was able to and am wary of taking anything I might become dependent on.
I'd be grateful for any feedback on SJW or other herbal stuff.

Designer dogs. Cockerpoo, Labradoodle type things. I'm the kind of person that can't understand people travelling the width of the country to spend £800 on a pooch when there's so many in rescue centres. Dogs aren't ornaments and I'm sure they were once called mongrels.

I see what you're saying there @Phoenix , but I think it would be better if you go for the low hanging fruit ... how about if you run these ideas up the flag pole and see who salutes?
Maybe we should take your ideas 'offline' and discuss them after the meeting? maybe I could diarise a meet-up.
And remember, there is no 'I' in T.E.A.M. (together everyone achieves more), so lets keep it real.
Oh, hold on, my Outlook calendar has just reminded me its time for my morning plop .....
