Get the interim appointment to some degree but then to appoint someone who adopts a completely different strategy when it comes to football, different to the players we have, and also someone with a long association with a small club with a small club mentality, its random, it does just not fit, it’s the same as Mel sacking Steve McClaren and appointing Nigel Pearson.

I will back him as i do any manager (I don’t question a manager after 5 games) but I’m concerned this is exactly the approach the likes of Sunderland and Sheff Utd followed and they were down here years.

“Sustainable in premier league terms”, recruited a manager to play a certain style, now recruited another with the same philosophy suited to the playing squad, excellent recruitment, sporting director structure with one of the best CEOs around and an owner who backs his club but stays well out of it.
I also mentioned Brentford who are an example of a sustainable club and their owner didn’t have millions to throw at it. Followed a set strategy and continue in line with that strategy, again the owner leaves the running of his club to others. We have Clowes, his MD from Clowes developments Dickinson, and Stephen Pearce - sounds familiar doesn’t it.
You may not think Liam was the right man, I disagree with you and considering the circumstances we’ve had a more than creditable start to the season with the prospect of further progress. But what about Paul Warne being first choice? a one club man at a much smaller club than ours playing a completely different style of football to the players we have with no prospect of changing it because we’re working under a business plan, all because “he knows league 1”?! Paul Jewell and Nigel Pearson knew the championship!! Does that not seem short sighted to you?
Its exactly this approach I hoped Derby wouldn’t follow because it’s what kept Sunderland and Sheff United down here for years, and it’s straight out of the Mel playbook. With the exception of Portsmouth, The teams at the top of the league have inexperienced but talented coaches given time to execute their philosophy.

Random manager choices (as Warne clearly is, in no way a good fit for Derby in terms of personnel to fit his style of play or experience of this size of club ) is exactly what will ensure we’re in league 1 for years

My mates just sent me a hilarious prank on what’s app, a tweet from what must be a John Percy spoof account saying Liam Rosenior is no longer interim manager and we want to replace him with Paul Warne. ?????
What the f*** are we doing? A young progressive manager who is ready and who has players to a large degree to suit how we want to play and we want to replace him with a manager who let’s face it practices anti football which we don’t have the personnel to play!  This is beyond bonkers!! A complete and utter head f*** ???
What is it now, 100 days since Clowes took over, where’s the structure? Where’s the recruitment team? What’s the plan to stop fans running the club making decisions as fans?! Brighton and Brentford is the model we need to follow if we want to be successful yet sustainable. This is the type of decision Mel Morris would make!! I just can’t get my head round it. No chance Rosenior stays in a support role.

I hope Warne turns us down.

I don’t judge my opinion of someone on 4 away league games only.
Sadly a lot of fans do.
Wonder if Paul Warne will be sacked after 11 games if we’re not higher than 7th?

About where I expected given the upheaval and losing time in preseason due to the takeover. At some point between now and Christmas i think will look like we’ve turned the corner and then a couple of bad performances and defeats will come from nowhere, such is the nature of the league and that we have several players experiencing their first full season in professional football. If we can be in a similar position at Christmas it sets us up to kick on in the second half of the season and secure a top 6 spot which is my expectation, and hopefully win the Papa John’s.
Very solid start so far. No complaints from me.

Better than expected especially given how quickly a squad was thrown together & Rosenior being a novice manager...two key factors that seem to be conveniently ignored by some.
I did think we'd start slowly, look very disjointed & probably be just outside the top 10 until around Christmas. Aside from Lincoln on Tuesday, we've played well in spells in all our league games which is a credit to Rosenior & his staff. Getting a batch of new players to settle quickly & get results is very difficult...see also Forest, Notts
Not unreasonably Rosenior will not know his best XI as a) we're 9 league games in & b) some of our players still arent matchfit or haven't been available throughout the season (Chester/McGoldrick/Dobbin/Korey Smith). In terms of changes, I'm reluctantly coming to the conclusion Bird & Hourihane can't play together but dont necessarily think Knight is the silver bullet. I've been pleased that we've started to mix up our restarts instead of passing it out every time. Predictability is never a good trait.
The away goal stat is increasingly being used by those not happy with Rosenior...I would add we have been very unlucky not to score & win away yet, Charlton in particular springs to mind. It will turn for us though as we are creating chances. Worth reminding all that Arthur Cox's away record in the first part of 84/85 was appalling, it does take time to get that fluidity on the road as a new side.
From here on in I'd like to think we can finish 5th/6th & secure a playoff spot. Top 2 is probably out of reach given the foundations clubs like Ipswich, Plymouth Portsmouth have built over last 2/3 years.

Better than expected to be honest.
We all know what state the squad was in back at the start of July without repeating it, the recruits were better than I initially expected yet I still couldn’t buy into the idea we would walk League 1.
I thought we would be around 17th, 18th now and hopefully starting to look like a team as we near Christmas, best case scenario pushing for a play off place.
Being Derby County, having 2 league titles in the cabinet with an FA cup and 30,000 seater stadium doesn’t count for anything in this league, all my expectations have been based on the situation and the time it takes to build a team. You can sign 22 players in a matter of weeks, ask Cooper, yet building a team on and off the pitch takes time.
To be sat 7th, level on points with 6th, 7pts off top is incredible really in my opinion and if this is the start of the journey, I think we may not be down here for as long as I first feared.

Think he answered that in his press conference. He couldn’t get the right backs he wanted to bring in, we missed out on two and he wasn’t going to sign any old right back for the sake of it.

I think the xG from this season to last season does tell us that the poor away form isn’t linked. Last year we barely created a chance or got in the opposition half away from home. This season we are creating chances but we’re not being clinical at the moment. If we creating big chances we’re giving ourselves greater possibilities of results, not creating chances means theres a bigger problem as poor form will likely be the norm. Eventually law of averages would would suggest we take our chances and results will improve. However at some point we need to start taking our chances or we risk becoming league one’s West Brom who should’ve been top 2 last season and so far this season according to xG but are nowhere near it.

Derby have always had the better fans. We turn up no matter what the league and whether we're bottom or top. Them lot down the road are as fickle as you can get. They were all coming out the woodwork in the summer but they'll disappear again when they start losing week in week out.

On Forest attendances to be fair, due to segregation they haven’t had over 30000 for years, 29,500 is probably the most they’ve had, if the away end doesn’t sell out then will get a few 28,500 attendances. It’s the same as PP being 33,567, yet I think our max attendance is 32,600.

Doesn’t excuse their s**** support though, see the we are behind you no matter what banner has been replaced (because Bournemouth proved its not true) with that rebel s***. Only has atmosphere for the big games, ones where they turn up expecting to roll teams over and don’t they boo them off the pitch. Fair weather plastics!
Seem to recall in our 11 point season the fans didn’t boo the team once until Reading scored their 4th goal on the last day and the crowd rightly turned saying “you’re not fit to wear the shirt”. Sky Sports awarded us fans of the year. Proper support.
