Myths? He's always struggled with injuries since he was coming through the academy. Max was a player, I know a lot of people in the academy were massively excited about coming through as a kid, never mind teenager, but from what I'm led to believe he really started to struggle with fitness/injuries from about 15/16 years of age.

I think he was around the first team in the 13/14 season yet didn't really breakthrough until after his loan move to Aberdeen 18/19 so 19/20 season for us. I believe a lot of that was due to the stunt in his progression due to the injuries and how his body stands up to the rigours of professional football. The 19/20 season is also the most minutes he has ever played in a league season (2281) which is roughly half of the overall minutes.

A lot of the time he may just not have been chosen to play, but equally the more minutes he plays so does the inevitably of the risk of injuries.  I do like Max as a player, though. I think he's an underrated defender but probably an overrated attacking fullback. He's a solid signing depending on a) how much they're paying him, assuming he would've been on good money at Sheff Utd and b) how often they can get him on the pitch.

Keeps getting contracts 🤷‍♂️anyway not our player anymore 🍺

Max Lowe signing for Sheffield Wednesday.

That’s Derby, Forest, Sheff Utd and now Wednesday. Allergic to moving house, or more likely, physiotherapist.

Decent signing for them - he has a decent playing record despite the myths about him being unfit

And how are we going to do that without parachute money ?

Send your answers to messers Starmer and Sunak

I think there are only 4 teams receiving parachute payments this season in the championship if that helps

Don't think he even stood out at League One level, so seen nothing to suggest he would be able to cut it in The Championship.

With his injury record it's a no from me.

Would definitely need to be minimum wage with bonuses for actual playing time !

By my maths that was SMac-2, which means we hid the philosophy very well. Very well indeed.

Also interesting that if this was the timeline then Nugent was likely the plan B.

I can’t imagine Nugent was plan A at that point in time

We don’t need Marinikas blood money even if it was 50 mill

Of course we need £50 million but from them it’s pay all of it up front because they haven’t got it

Do we not ? I thought when barks was playing up till he was injured he was playing in that role. Nml also has a spell in that position too.

Well, maybe that was what was said at the time but actually being good at that specific role is all about opinions

  8. Goal scorers cost money in fees and wages but you have to play them in their most productive positions

we currently don’t play with an attacking central midfielder and I don’t see that changing with Warne as the current manager but he may well play Sibley at left wing back where he has performed decently - managers don’t last half a season in the championship on average so being patient has its merits

Sure great guy.  CB cover maybe but another slow one.  Can't see him at LB or LWB at this level.

There must have been about ten LB or LWB brought in to replace him over the years and not one of them was any better - his ability to slot in a left sided centre half if we play 3 at the back will be very useful.

Rumours that he is a) off to Pompey and b) back to Wendy

Also rumours that Collo has an offer from Brum

Brum would be a decent move for JC but he did start at Villa I think whilst Wildsmith can go wherever he wants if he doesn’t want to be here any longer.

Is it possible that we’ve offered Sibley a deal just to protect his value at a tribunal?

Well yes but his contract was decent already remembering he was offered his based on a hat trick in the championship for a midfielder and a lot of promise - hopefully he stays

  12. No major disappointment in that list, Wildsmith obviously values himself higher than we can afford for a goalkeeper unless we bring in a better one whilst if Smith had stayed I would have only expected him to be a sub. Gayle is one I would have liked to have taken for a year if he wanted to stay because he knows where to be to put the ball in the net. Hopefully Sibley wants to stay with us whilst Collins might not want to be Sub most weeks so I expect he might get a longer term deal elsewhere as first choice. We will see if Warne tries to move on Fornah and Washington who have had next to no impact in league one and we will be in the championship.

A big thanks to the players leaving who all contributed to promotion out of that dreadful league, whilst I hope we see better players replacing them.

I dont see Iverson as a number 1. He was rather average when at Preston a couple of years back, and pretty poor at Stoke.

This would make sense if the rumour of Vickers leaving is also true. He'll also help with integrating any Danish (and Dutch to a lesser extent) players to the club.

Interesting as I think he is an excellent goalkeeper and was very good when at Preston whilst being at Stoke has blotted many decent players CV

whilst being a Leicester player indicates a higher wage which could be a problem

Yeah good call on this, i think the £10m ideas are a bit fanciful at this point!

let’s see how he gets on in league one, I’d hope Warne has a look at him in pre season though. If thinks can help the first team then be good to see him play.

If brown plays and scores goals in the championship then £10m would not be a shock!

9 subs next season and he should be one of them and hopefully get proper starts on top of that

Or we're letting them train to be fit to get deals elsewhere? Or Sibley and Thommo had bust up on break at the cabin and he's letting off steam at least! 🤷‍♀️

They are employed by the club so turning up for work when expected maybe

I've read/heard of 27 different players we're buying this summer. 2 of those arriving would be a miracle. Where did you hear it? Who from? A reputable, reliable source or did you overhear someone saying they'd seen something on FB or X?

The whole point being there's a lot of crap being written by folk wanting clicks to gain advertising revenue from their FB pages, YouTube channels and websites. We don't yet know who's staying and who's going. We're not the only club that hasn't yet published their retained list. Unless a club has said something, there's no traction in any of these rumours.

Very good source thanks - will he change his mind now that we have achieved promotion who knows because people do but I am not expecting him to still be with us next season.
