poor game today, but a draw would have been a fair result. We were offfish all over the field today, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

bring on the next game 👍👍

What do you mean, "sometimes"? That's the way it goes "every time" we've got a chance to put the after burners on.

    As terrible as that was

We are still in pole p osition

To be in pole position means that YOU HAVE TO BE IN FIRST PLACE. We could be, and should be, given what our players are capable of, but we aren't because of how they are being forced to play. And after nearly looking like we were playing football, and getting the resultant good run, we revert to HOOF IT, And it still doesn't work.

Ah I see. Just Warne's fault again?

Yes it is. I know we have got injuries, but there again, don't all of Warne's sides? The reality is that from kick off all he got us doing was hoofing the ball long. If we put 2 or 3 passes together, it was to generate enough room for the player getting that 3rd pass to boot it long from deep within his own half. Every time. Every time. Every single time.

How strange - after the fans gave Warne a right bollocking form that run of matches ending with Stevenage and Crewe he got us playing what almost looked like football, and guess what? We went on a good run. Today, when we could, and should have won emphatically, he reverted to hoofball. Absolutely diabolical. Yes, the ref was poor, really poor, and cost us the goal. Actually, no he didn't, but Northampton should have been defending a free-kick instead of scoring the winner. But our defending was shocking for the goal. But for virtually the entire match we were worse than the ref, and with EFL League One refs, that takes one hell of a lot of doing.

I’d argue he’s not even been given a proper chance yet.

If the argument is he doesn’t track back, I question why we even bought him in the first place and what’s the point of putting him on the bench?

This line up doesn’t shout goals - and goals win games. At least with CBT and NML you in essence give them a free pass to create.

Now our attacking centre mids appears to be Thompson. Jesus.

I know He’s due to come back soon, but not today!

It's interesting to see how a lot of people are now suggesting 3 at the back rather than a back 4 that people have been saying is how we should be lining up. I've liked the idea of having a back 3. It allows us more players to attack, but gives us 5 at the back when defending.

Big game today. No complacency please. We have to be professional and get the job done and not assume it's 3 points in the bank. Northampton will likely raise their game against us.

    COYR!

It has coincided with players being available where 3 at the back can work, initially with Cashin, Nelson and Nyambe. The arrival of Adams is having a major impact on this because the midfield 2 we were employing are no longer  being over-run. Add in Warne’s shift in how he gets us playing - it has an increasing tendency to look like football, and that is also a major reason.

Long may it continue - - - - and improve!

Never quite understood the animosity towards Bamford. I obviously missed something back then (was having a terrible time at work so a lot passed me by) but I thought he was a decent player for us. Please someone help me out, why we do we dislike him?

It is  because of what he was like afterwards, as he had links to the Trees. And when he returned playing for Middlesbrough we all saw him as a dirty, diving cheat, and he still is.
