  1. From a Leeds forum:

"I`m so angry, when we went into the 90, it wasnt till 92 min 20 seconds when play resumed

Then their keeper twice took about 60 seconds to take goal kicks

They delayed big time over throw ins

Then their player right at the end faked going over

Should have been four minutes of extra on TOP of the 90s not just the what was barely 2 min on top of the 90 that we were given

Yes it wouldnt have changed things but southampton played so dirty, literally every single opportunity to sap the life out of the game!"

Thompson has been 1st choice for the U21s since before Christmas. Arguably man of the match most games too.

I would expect at least a full season on loan in L1 before being a regular for our first team, with maybe a half season in L1/2 before that.

Thanks for the info. The Rams' website has him in the U18 squad, but that must only be updated each season. I wonder what list he'll be on in September...

  3. I could see Jack Thompson maybe getting into the under 23s, but surely first choice in the first team is unrealistic.  I've never watched the u23's or u18's live, so I have no opinion on how good he is, but surely a 17 year old could be playing for the under 23s if they were good enough?

I don't particularly want to see Wildsmith go, but this is a bi-product of prudent housekeeping.  It was obvious in January that there was a good chance he would leave, as soon as he didn't sign a new contract.  The only way this could be bad for the club would be if for instance Wildsmith wanted £12k per week, which we refuse to pay, then end up paying £14k to someone else that is no better in goals.  I really can't see that being the case though.  I think we'll end up with someone who is as good as Wildsmith, if not a bit better at least in terms of distribution and decision making.

Joe Wildsmith moves on with my thanks for his large contribution to a great season.  All the best and good luck for next season (unless you're playing the Rams of course).

  4. Sibley and Barkhuizen have proven attributes at this level. If Forsyth was solely a left back I'd say no, but as a back up centre back I'd be tempted to give him one more year.  I have a lot of respect for the likes of Collins and Smith, but if they're still at the club in August I hope it's as fourth choice options. They probably deserve to be playing regularly at a league 1 club really.

Whilst I appreciate we don’t know the retained list yet with so many players out of contract we ought to have a reasonable kitty to fund a rebuild. I am sure it has been reported that Hourihane is on 12k PW and he’s leaving. If we do go up how much extra tv revenue is there in the EFL? Off topic I have seen some bookies offering 100/1 on Bolton finishing second and 1000/1 on Peterborough finishing second- tasty odds

Betfred are offering me 150/1 for Lincoln to finish in the top 2. Generous of them. 🤣.  Bolton 66/1. Nothing for Posh.  I think the algorithm needs a kick up the bum.

A day trip to Germany this afternoon, and at the match next week. Interestingly, whilst supporting the rams for over 50 years, I've never been to a promotion party game. COYR!

    Me either.

86 - In my parents' kitchen - 'cool as custard'.

87 - Playing football on the pitch at Asterdale School with a little radio.

96 - In my student house in Sheffield listening to the radio then turning it off when Palace equalised, as I was too nervous so played minesweeper for the rest of the match.

07 - In a pub in Crookes. Unusually I was the only Ram - that didn't happen very often in the student areas of Sheffield.

Anybody under the age of 27/28 has never witnessed an automatic promotion for Derby County.

    Quite a sobering thought, really.

Can you imagine what that season would have been like if we'd had social media/this forum?!

'Smith out' after four matches with only two points.

'John Harkes is stealing a living.'

'Why is he playing 3-4-1-2? That's never been done before, so must be bad'

All those draws in Jan and Feb would have created an intense debate whether it was good to keep the unbeaten run going or two points dropped.

The feeling on the way home from Tranmere was so strange - we'd been thrashed but I'd seen a football god playing in the second tier and for little old Derby.

Anyway that's enough reminiscing. Let's create some more memories next week. COYR

Was less annoyed at him falling for their players flop under Wilson’s “challenge” when Hourihane did an even worse one second half he couldn’t wait to give us a free kick for.

There was an absolutely hilarious throw in decision though

Wilson megged someone in the first half but the ball went too far away so he threw himself on the floor and won a freekick.  At least the officials were consistent!
