  1. Apart from a single twitter gossip source, do we actually know a takeover is underway?

I get the need for NDAs and keeping this one quiet - I like that way of conducting business, as long as we are actually conducting business.....

  2. I'm bored of these threads disappearing off topic or as justification for people's silly points, the moderators really should set some boundaries on what is an acceptable reply, most of the stupid questions can be answered by simply googlying.

  3. So how ducked are we?

I'd imagine just submitting accounts might not be enough to lift the embargo - I would have thought there would be a bit of an admin delay until they are signed off by the EFL maybe?

It can't be much more than around 10 weeks til the new season starts?

    Not so.
The old  pitch is now at Talbots just off A38 and it stink from rotting grass

Slightly off topic but in the day and age of microplastics I wonder how they got the plastic out of it? is it just a big sheet of plastic/synthetic fibre that the grass grows through? That is of course if we even still had that plastic reinforced pitch last season?

I have never been able to find what exactly is a soft embargo.  Maybe there is some movement allowed by EFL whether that could include allowing registrations in certain circumstances is difficult to say

A bit like the pirates code

A soft embargo is when the EFL can approve a transfer and then retrospectively decide they no longer approve it.

To be fair, might save us the hassle of having to get rid of the marquee new signings when we work out they're crap.

I ordered both this one and the other third kit from the same year too! Much nicer than any mundane crap they’ll serve up to us.
last good home shirt we had was 2015 with those light silvery diamonds in the background of the shirt.

oooooh the third kit, was that the turquoise blue one?? I've got that somewhere, full kit including warm up tracksuit too!

I wonder if these reissue shirts still come with Bukta covered over by the Rams ProWear logo?!

Am I the only one that doesn’t get why a club that fails FFP gets a fine? Surely that just makes things even worse financially?

maybe a slap on the wrist and Re-educating on how to establish amortisation should be the proper course?

Almost as if the EFL want to see clubs go into administration. They wouldn't even pass their own fit and proper test

Here’s my away kit concept. Mash up of 1886-1888 four colour one, 1984 centenary home kit and then the universally loved yellow/blue/red (even though EVERYONE hates red on our shirt, right?!?) 1993/94 away. Thrown on a few different sponsors who are our current and then the biggest local employers. What do you lot think of this then… ?

These are ace, we won't have anything anywhere near as funky though.

    Define cheap?

Most of the players listed in here are players coming of the back of brilliant seasons in league 1 or 2 or free transfers released from premiership clubs.

Take Jerry Yates at Blackpool as an example. Could have had him for a couple of 100k a year ago. Now, after last season, Blackpool will want big money, same for clarke harris. Cheap they ain't.

As for some of the premier league's released lists. Wages, wages, wages.

Not aimed at you at all mate, but have we learnt nothing as fans from our transfer dealings in the last 4 years or so? Buying players, often player of the season, at at the very height of their value, chucking big wages as previous prem players, signing for top wedge a lad who has scored a few in lower leagues.

Seems some are content to make the same mistakes again and again.

Let's take our time and get it right for once.

Well, we won't be splashing the cash like we did prviously that is for certain!

I just hope that a) we do get a transfer kitty / no embargo and b) that things in the way currently get resolved in timely fashion, I'd hate to see us embargo'd/no new owners until a few days before window closes resulting in dross overpaid signings.

  10. I think it’s going to be brutal watching all the other teams pickup cheap players. We won’t sign a single first team player for weeks - if at all as firstly we’re still under embargo until we’ve submitted the accounts, I imagine these take a while to be ‘signed-off’ and are possibly also pending on the punishment dished out for our accounts last time, and last of all until Mel hands over the keys to the Americans (if that ever comes to fruition).

    Tight summer ahead boys

For me its fresh start time: New owners, significant team changes, new manager.

I dont see any area of the team that doesn't need to change, the efl charge just adds impetus to it all.

    I absolutely agree.

However, whilst Mel is still in charge he won't stump up the cash to sack Rooney or to buy players (and who can blame him).

The pending EFL charge means our accounts still haven't been submitted and we're under embargo.

New owners are probably put off by the threat of a points deduction and subsequent relegation.

So we've got what 8 or 9 weeks until the new season - I can't see this all being resolved anytime soon. The squad that finished this season will be weaker than the squad that starts next season.

    Happy Happy

Yes. As we speak the club and the efl are preparing submissions to the IDC about sanctions. It’ll be weeks before we hear anything. Then, when we do, the club can appeal back to the LAP about the sanction. If it’s a points sanction,  we no doubt will appeal and that will also take many weeks. So by the time this is all done, it’ll be too late surely for a points deduction to apply for the season just gone.
Also possible the new owners will step in like adults and sort out this running sore with the EFL. Hope they do

All whilst under embargo so we end up not buying a single player to add to our 4th from bottom squad and putting off any form of takeover.

  13. I used to live in the same apartment block as him in Birmingham, I'd recently moved in and (almost literally) bumped into him in the lobby. Not realising who he was I instantly just introduced myself and waited for his own introduction, which never came. I think he was a bit shocked that I didn't know who Birmingham's reserve goalie was.

I'm pretty sure the cigarettes' flicked off the penthouse into our garden were from his mates.....

Interesting apartment block, David Gregory-kumar lives there, and Simon Callow used to have his 'city hideaway' apartment there.

  14. Curtains is Jack O’Connell?

Wasn’t Tracy Shaw of ‘Maxine in Corrie’ fame a Derby fan? Seem to remember her and Curly Watts doing a parade round the BBG (?) pitch at halftime for no reason whatsoever

  15. Would you return to the club that made you fall out of love with football??

It was a strong statement for a current player to make and it must have taken a lot to say that out loud so I believe he must have really meant it.

Albeit the people he had issue with are all probably long gone but I just wouldn't take that chance.
