Surely that must be about the players being distracted by transfer links again?

Its a bit of a poor excuse. None of the players looked like they weren't putting the effort in.

I listened to that, another comment seemed to be about him, is he under pressure? He couldnt be but has the budget or lack of it affected his relationship with Clewes?

We don't know but I do wish he would keep quiet even if I love his honesty

It’s a hyperbolic statement for sure but that doesn’t change the point that if, and it’s a big if (but I’ve no reason to doubt big trav), our budget has been used up with what has already come in then it leaves us really short.

I won’t refer to anyone who isn’t concerned as a happy clapper but at the same time it’s fine to be worried about the direction of the playing squad despite the fact that we nearly went out of existence because we cannot remain in league 1 for too much longer.

The one big positive for Clowes when running the club has been the volume of fans through the door. I’ll be there in future seasons regardless of what division we’re in but plenty won’t stop around for midtable scraps in league 1.

My hope is that there’s a lot going on behind closed doors for recruitment into the older ages of the academy meaning that as these players start to be integrated into the team they’ll supplement these older free transfers in the next 18-24 months.

I thinks Clowes is trying to demonstrate that Derby have learnt from their financial mistakes and are a well run prudent club.
would you rather have that than no club. The club will be here long after we have all gone, we need to make sure it’s in a fit state . Support Warne and the lads COYRs

They have no reason to accuse him of being a paedo or ridicule him about the loss of his son do they 🙄

I agree, some thoughts should be given to those that are grieving and they should be considerate ones

Last time I went to Reading's ground there was a large group of what looked like 12-14 year olds mouthing off at everyone around them - there's something wrong with folk round there....

I live just outside Reading (its a fantastic part of the country to live in), but they are not a proper football club, most of Reading supports Chelsea or one of the other London clubs. I find them plastic and deluded, what ever you do don't ask them what the off side rule is about.

When we play there i regularly sit in the homeend and cheers the Rams on, nothing is said, perhaps the 12 year olds are off for their coco.

Any views on the Battle of Waterloo, Scott reaching the South Pole or any other events you didn't actually witness?

I have been informed but was not there, however I have been informed that the trains are running from Waterloo and Alex Scott is in Australia

Which is what I was dreading. I should have left it unsaid

I think you did the right thing, informed people but protected the person who gave you the information. A lot will guess wrong and some right. However thats not the point. Its good to know that the net has been spread wide and we are looking at younger players that fit what Warne wants. So thank you

  7. We were a bit disjointed today, but that will come together, it feels like we need 2 or 3 more games especially the defence. I thought Wigan were far better organised than us, I liked their number 8 before he ran out of steam. I still think we deserved something from the game, we lost to two big errors but that is how it goes.

Three things stood out for me today, if we are going to pump balls into the box, our strikers are not big enough. We have no speed at the back, time and again we were outrun. I love NML, but do not see how he fits its the Warne system.

The defeat might be a blessing in diguise, its brings some realisation and thats not a bad thing.

We were never going to walk the league but I still think we will be promoted.

Must be a really low offer for waggy to take so long, after all he's local and his sons in the academy should be a no brainer for him

Offer probably made to his Agent, agent discusses all offers with Waggy, Waggy talks to wife, dog who ever and then decides, tells agent, agent calls club and then waggy signs 2 minutes before cut off time.........maybe

The full allocation for Wigan is 2,681 and they had already sold over 2,000 when they went on general sale on the 27th of July, so I don’t imagine they will be far short of selling out.

As I said previously I think they will open up those 4 blocks anytime soon but there isn’t many spare seats in there, 2 of them being next to me.

The amount of season ticket holders on holiday is the unknown factor, but I think we can safely say it will be the highest attendance in the whole of the football league on the day.

ST's are a factor, I have 2 but will only be using one, as someone else is going to London with her mate.
