I agree. They are building a decent sqaud, hopefully we can beat Reading to Wing.

Their team is threadbare, they have slightly more players than we did last year before we signed players. They are making good signings but they need numbers and fast, and those players will not have played together or for the new manager. They will also be undercooked without a proper pre season and will have to deal with a new style of play.

Like us thats what happens when you don't pay your bills, over spend and get relegated.

It's shaping up to be a very typical derby transfer window.

Starts of promising and ends up flat.

Assuming Big Trav is right (and I'm starting to have my doubts with an ever changing story), something has happened since Clowes said we had a large budget (certainly big enough to get out this division). Did it rub up the EFL the wrong way or maybe Wycombe again?

I refuse to believe that in a season where promotion is massive for this club, Warne is voluntarily placing his trust in 2 maybe 3 strikers plus 30 and a 17 year old who has shown promise, against Salford, Chesterfield and Matlock.

I think Big Trav can only say what he has been told and even then would need to be careful.  Sometimes things change, this could be the case with Rhodes and BT did hold his hand up to that. I do agree that we lack fire power, unfortunatly that is the one area thats has high demand and high prices. I would not be suprised if Clowes or Warne have walked away from some deals due to cost.

We McG last year who did very well, the best season of his career, but the chances of a repeat would have been low based on the rest of his career. Firepower, or the lack of it, is an issue we have had for a long time

Unless we spend money on this 1 permanent striker then Clowes ‘very good budget’ isn’t much at all? I’m more than happy with the signings and not complaining at all, was expecting 1 or 2 few hundred thousand deals, trust the process and keep the EFL happy that's the main aim

A good budget for L1. So that for me equates to decent (but not extravigent) wages, rather than sepnding money on transfer fees, although I do expect us to pay some loan fees this year to attract better loan players......but I know ...nothing

I apologise if I’m incorrect in this evaluation but, do the other clubs that have recently had financial problems seem to be out of restrictions a lot quicker and given more leniency then we had? if not it really shows how horrendous Mel left us!

No, you just need to fulfill the criteria for coming off the list, like paying the taxman or coming out of administration

I would take him all day. Always liked him.

Not sure of his fitness. Belive he was playing in Turkey ( could be wrong ) but if he wanted and wasn't on stupid wages the trial defo.

He would score at this level, still only 30, thought he was older. Has pace and power. I don't think this has legs but it would be a yes from me

We are being linked with Billy Sharp, thankfully Rotherham are also linked with him. At 37 he's not even a good substitute in my book.

We potentially could look at premier league loans, how about ... Yegor Yarmolyuk (Brentford, attacking midfielder), Luke Plange (Crystal palace), Malcolm Ebiowei (Crystal Palace).

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Derby County is interested in Ipswich Town striker Freddie Ladapo, with Rams boss Paul Warne being "a big fan" of the 30-year-old after working with him at Rotherham. However, Witcoop claimed that Ipswich Town "won't entertain any bids" for Ladapo. After the arrival of George Hirst from Leicester City, Ipswich Town's stance may have changed.

Three potential loan signings that could be knight replacements we might want to consider ... Greg Docherty (Hull City), Ollie Rathbone (Rotherham United), Marc Leonard (Brighton and Hove Albion).

Nigerian striker joins us on trial ... https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=48082

In the meantime, great news for us regarding Barnsley ...

I don't like clapping for others misfortune.  I didnt like the things said about us so will not cheer for others misfortune

Good reminder that Knight is also one of the highest earners. 2M with a sell on fee, Kane Wilson and a good chunk of wage made available with him and Bielik. We’ve had their pants down

Are you sure we are getting 2m plus Wilson ?

Goal scorer outside the 22-32 category.

I'm telling u, it will be flipping Billy Sharp.

I said it. We will try for weeks to land him and he will go to Barnsley.

    22-32 not 32-42
