...I have booked flights and match tickets in anticipation that this maybe the last game. I am perhaps being a little over dramatic, but I could never live with the feeling should it come to fruition and i wasn´t there.

Hopefully this week we can get funding in place until end of season , but irrespective of that...100% agree, we need to sell our Pride Park ...fans this season have been superb, but another 7 or 8 k will help financially ...perversely I have really enjoyed watching The Rams this season , let’s do this

Just brought the last available ticket in the south stand. For a variety of reasons it’ll be my first game since before lockdown. Had a ST for 30+ years prior to that. It’ll be a strange occasion.

My first post ever but desperate times lead to desperate measures ?.
Sunday 30th January Derby County Football club could be playing the last game of football they will ever play, 138 years of history.
Let us make this a game something no one forgets.
We're live on Sky and have national attention. Let's sell out pride park and make it the best atmosphere since Brighton in the playoffs. Everyone bring banners, flags, inflatable items (of all shapes and sizes?) etc. Lets not stop singing before, during and at the end of the match.
If it will be our last game lets go out with a bang and something that will be remembered, in front of the Sky cameras.
Everyone who went to Wembley, every fan who can only get along to a few games make this a game you can't miss. The reality is you may never be able to see Derby County again.

Football's financial lunacy cannot be tackled with red tape
Despite the desire to avoid a repeat of Derby County’s crisis, a heavy-handed regulator would do more harm than good.

Ken Tram reacted to Carl Sagan in Petition to the Sports Minister
Someone called Adam Boddington (very possibly on here) has created a petition asking for the Sports Minister to look at the situation between Derby, Middlesbrough and Wycombe. The EFL is mentioned in the petition title:

Well done Adam for starting something off.

Except this is a failed football business. The administrator is already going to be squeezing for every penny of "value" to pay off the real creditors. They can't just knock a bit off the asking price to cover potential liabilities since it sounds like they are already getting only a fraction of what the creditors are owed, and the creditors are not going to accept getting nothing just because Middlesbrough reckon they are owed 10s of millions for some supposed harm.
The potential liability sounds like it could be more than the value of the club, and it wouldn't be determined in the courts. A five per cent risk that you are liable for 150% of annual revenue in a loss-making sector is going to put most people off, unless you are a very rich, very long term or very altruistic investor. (Or you just love a good gamble.)

I suppose this is why people say that Mike Ashley may leave it until the last second!
As we approach liquidation date, Middlesbrough's expected income from their claim approaches zero; as does the value of the stadium.
Ashley can take it or leave it. So, Middlesbrough may blink first. Middlesbrough may prefer a smaller settlement, than get nothing.
Sadly, we fans may have to endure things going to the wire.

I think that I tend to agree with you.
Our moral stance is more important too.
    Liquidate rather than pay Middlesbrough.
I hope that the EFL will take any hit, if Middlesbrough insist on maintaining their claim.

It won't be the EFL themselves, it will be a LAP, like our appeal was. The make-up of it is set out in the rules - something like each side gets to name one panel members, and the 3rd has to be from an official arbitration body or something, with rules on the minimum qualifications each member must have.
I'm not so much worried about the impartiality as the technical competence.  There's no requirement for qualified accountants or anything on the panel, it will be QCs etc again.  So I'm worried that 'Boro rock up and start mouthing off about FRS102, we defend our position, and the LAP (having no experience or training to understand the technical issues), end up deciding based on which lawyer has the smartest suit or which expert witness had the most letters after his name.

Oh my goodness. I assumed that such a football debt would still be settled in the courts - but just mean that any judgement would have to be paid to avoid further football sanctions.
I didn't realise that the EFL would arbitrate and decide. *Shocked*

Everton are hedging their bets. Ferguson is in charge until they get their man. They probably still hope Martinez can break free, they still have to interview Frank, if that is the case. Clearly he would give a fantastic interview.
If it’s Wayne they decide on, they would surely prefer to see how the next few weeks pan out. Our club might even be liquidated.

Honestly, his entire testimony and evidence is an absolute horror-show from the EFL's point of view.  With their valuer massively overstating his own experience, making basic mistakes (confusing cost-per-seat with cost-per-square-meter at one stage), refusing to show where he got values from, deliberately hiding evidence that disagreed with his position, and more.  Anybody that has any doubts about why we won the stadium value charge needs to read that entire section.

Or they’ve been told EFL want it handled by their internal processes not an independent court of law, and everything we’ve seen so far from how the EFL have handled things is that a fair result is far from guaranteed.

Or they have absolutely no confidence that an EFL led arbitration would be impartial, justifiably so because history tells us otherwise.

Indeed. I suspect there’ll be a deal - eventually but at much greater cost to fans. Eg relegation, no Rooney, no players. Effectively Derby as a carcass. Ripped to bits.

What is stopping the EFL from stating that Middlesbrough's claim is a non-football debt?
Are they scared of being sued by Middlesbrough?
