  1. I can understand the reasons behind it. It's incredibly tight at the top, so if we bring on someone unproven and then lose the game, he would regret it more. I would still rather be more positive and try to win the game, accepting that on odd occasions you'll get caught out and lose, but I see the reasoning for not doing that. Every point is going to matter. Our away form this season has been amazing, so a draw away at Lincoln isn't the end of the world.
  2. Win on Tuesday and we finish the night top of the league, that's guaranteed. There should be no bigger incentive than that.
  3. That's my point. Your post was based around ifs and buts. I don't think we win 32 points by being awful, just because one side had more clear cut chances in a game that finished 0-0 than us doesn't mean that it's season over.
  4. One criticism I would have of today is that why have players like Brown on the bench if you aren't going to chuck him on to try and get a goal. Just off the back of scoring 5 in one game, whatever standard that is, he's going to be full of confidence. Sometimes there's games like today where you just need one to go in off someone's backside, so he'd have been a good backside for it to go in off.
  5. If your feelings were right then we'd have been liquidated two years ago and all be watching AFC Derby in the United Counties League, so I think it's just as well that your feelings are never right, hey?!
  6. But we didn't though? That's like saying if we didn't concede last gasp goals against Portsmouth, Wycombe and Peterborough we'd be 3 points clear of second with a game in hand. It's pointless criticising the team with hypothetical situations that didn't happen.
  7. We are more than capable of beating pretty much every team in this league but no team would ever win every single game. It's about reacting to results that haven't gone completely your way, and we have the chance to do so pretty quickly. I think this side has shown quite a strong mentality and we have done well in bouncing back from set-backs already this year. Points deduction or not, Reading have been a bottom-4 side all season so I back us to grab the chance to put things right at the first opportunity. I'm going to stick my neck on the line and say that every other side in this league will draw and lose again before the end of the season, so we can make those 2 points up again no problem.
  8. It is quite funny how some expect us to win every single game. If we miss out on autos, it'll be from games like Posh and Portsmouth at home, where we lost ground in nearly the last kick of the game. We have 3 points this week, getting 7 points from those 3 would be a good return and keep us on track for a number that should hopefully be enough for the top 2. We'll just need to beat Reading and Cheltenham, which we're more than capable of doing.
  9. Still go above Portsmouth if we win the game in hand and 1 more point than Bolton got today, so it's not all negative.
  10. He's got about 2 years before I'd sell him on Football Manager.
  11. He could turn out to be a Langstaff type player, he was older than 22 when he found his scoring boots, but he’s drawn a blank in 16 of his 25 games. 16 goals in 9 games is incredible but his stats are heavily padded by a handful of matches.
  12. I meant the comparison as in signing someone purely off 1 good half season and nothing much else. It looks like Bradford are looking to sell while his price is inflated and I don’t blame them.
  13. Would rather this one is just a nothing rumour. He’s not been prolific anywhere, at any point other than the first half of this season. He’s only 22, but he’s not scored in his last 6, and 10 of his 16 league goals came across 4 games. Would be another Nick Blackman type signing in my opinion. Not needed.
  14. Why would it be him that's feigning injury? Perhaps Charlton are using the excuse of him being injured so that they have a reason to not play him whilst negotiations are ongoing. If they play him whilst we're in talks, and he gets injured for the rest of the season, then they can't play him and he goes for free in a few months. It's a big risk for them if they're resigned to losing him regardless.
  15. Well his middle name is Kevin… so maybe we are?
  16. It was always immaculate right up until admin. It shows that you get what you pay for and when funds are tight, it’s an easy area to make cuts. It’s still one of the best pitches in this division, but we’re a third tier side with a pretty average pitch. If we’re in the Championship next season then there will be extra money for all areas of the club, pitch included.
  17. I always find it so amusing when Rammie joins in with the celebrations. A grown man dressed as a farmyard animal at the hoardings giving it to the crowd as if he’s just banged in a 20 yard volley himself.
  18. Pretty sure that game never happened, nice Photoshop skills @admira
  19. Smart of David to not state which month in the thread title. We can just use this thread to discuss his January, February, March and April trophies too.
  20. Warne didn't think it was a foul, he thought it was poor from NML which I did think at the time. Don Goodman thinks it was an obvious foul which I assume is sarcasm seeing as he hates us. It also looked as if he had to check himself when talking about the equaliser. Described as "criminal" but it felt like he could've said a lot worse about some of the defending there.
  21. Sky just put a graphic up for our next 6 games. 4 are away, which doesn't actually worry me anymore, but Lincoln are the only side currently in the top half of those fixtures. It's a massive opportunity with 6 individual games that on paper you'd say we have to win if we want to get automatic promotion. I'm not expecting 18 points, but it really is a massive opportunity coming up. In that same timeframe, you have Oxford v Pompey, Oxford v Barnsley, Bolton v Barnsley and Stevenage v Barnsley. There's definitely a chance to try and open up a little bit of a gap to some teams.
