  1. We missed two penalties against Morecombe last season and didn't win the game as a result. A win in that game would have had us finish in the play-offs and may even be a Championship side right now. England could be reigning European champions if penalties were easy enough to just be disregarded. Every goal is worth the same, I don't really care how they go in, scoring penalties shouldn't be a way to be negative towards a player...
  2. The article's from 2019 and the number plate pictured is registered to the make/model/colour of the car in the picture. Added to that, the car with the number plate DW16HTG was first registered 3 weeks after the article about his car being stolen, so it does all add up.. And yes, potential football transfers does bring out the inner detectives in all of us.
  3. In that case, if something does happen then we're keeping our cards extremely close to our chest, if anyone is coming in, it'll have to be nearly complete by now, even to get to the stage of getting the deal sheet in on time so it can be completed slightly after. Another thing I find strange is that if Max Bird has been sold, why announce it so late without an incoming? I know he'll still be here on loan, so we're not "losing" him as such, but announcing a sale and nothing else at the very last minute is only going to bring negativity.
  4. Fair enough, I hadn't seen that. I remember last year he tweeted near the end to essentially say nothing was happening, but it's all been pretty quiet with 'official' reports.
  5. I think it's strange that Dom Dietrich and Leigh Curtis have been so quiet on social media. Even if there was nothing going on, and nothing was going to happen, I think they'd tweet that. Ebou Adams came out of nowhere. A lot of our deals since DC took control of the Club have been kept very much under wraps. I think we will still get 1 in. It might not necessarily be anything exciting, but in a weird way, I think just how silent it's been must be an indicator of something.
  6. Well it isn't. We quite clearly aren't going to sign Bartosz Cybulski, it's strange that someone would think that's even worth tweeting.
  7. I've seen that tweet and they say they're not 100% certain. I'm 350 miles away and I'm 100% certain that we aren't going to sign Cybulski off King's Lynn six months after letting him go. We'd just go with what we have rather than do something like that.
  8. They might well finish in the top 2, but I just know if we signed him for £750k, there would be some complaints. He's a good player, but he's had one good season at this level in his career. He's a striker with a career average of a goal every 4 games. No doubt he's a good player, but he's followed up his good season last year with 3 goals in 27 games, meanwhile Chris Martin has 9 in 17 in the same team. They apparently wanted £4mil in the summer, now they've taken £750k. Decent player but by no means a promotion securer.
  9. I’d say he’s more likely to be committed than if we didn’t sell him now & loan him back. A strong 50/50 on the halfway line which leads to a potential injury just a few months until he’s a free agent, potentially leaving him injured and without a club? He’s sorted his medium-term future whilst still being involved in a promotion battle. I don’t think you get to the stage of being a professional footballer if you don’t have the mentality of being committed at a stage of the season like this.
  10. I think someone mentioned a tribunal fee in the summer and that was around £2mil based on how many games he’s played. I’m surprised we’ve got that much for him if true to be honest. I just hope we haven’t left it too late to use some of that much needed cash, and also aren’t going to be chucking a portion of that to Wednesday just to borrow one of their players for 3 months.
  11. The Club will have a rough idea of what they would get in a tribunal, so my guess is slightly less than whatever that would be. This way probably suits us better IF we can use that money to recruit. We still have the same player but extra funds, it seems like it’s essentially the Cashin plan from the summer but just less money involved.
  12. If he was going at the end of the season no matter what, then getting the money in now makes much more sense. If adding to the squad depends on that money, then it may be the difference between being in the Championship or being in League 1, which is massive. Like Knight, I also would expect him to be a stand-out player at this level. He hasn’t been. Our midfield has largely been a problem for us this season so although I am content with him staying, I also don’t think he would be integral to next season - whether that’s trying to get out of League 1 or trying to avoid returning to it.
  13. Uh oh! They’ll finish in the play-offs at this rate… 👀
  14. A Gregg’s advert came up on the screen and he attacked it out of sheer habit.
  15. I don’t think we should be spending our deadline day trying to sign players for Portsmouth on their behalf.
  16. It’s a strange approach, but that seems to be what their Chairman does. I don’t even know why we bother wasting our time with them, it happened last year too.
  17. I’d take that, although there’s 3 strikers you’ve named with 3 very different playing styles, so it’s interesting to see what approach we’re going to take. Also, a £1mil loan fee for 4 months of 32 year old Michael Smith 😂😂😂😂
  18. He’s not gone on loan to anybody, they don’t seem keen to loan him out full stop.
  19. Charlton 1-2 Derby Blackett-Taylor
  20. This time yesterday there were zero links to Ebou Adams. In his interview, he said he knew of a serious interest from Derby around 2 months ago. The interest really ramped up just before he went off to Afcon, that would’ve been 3 weeks ago. So many transfers are left to the final day, it’s always happened. Just because we haven’t had any proper links to anyone beyond Smith or Gregory, doesn’t mean that nothings going to happen. Just wait and see. If the Club weren’t confident of another incoming today then I’m pretty sure they’d have left the Adams announcement til today.
  21. To be fair, I’ve just looked it up on WhoScored and he’s had 538 minutes from 14 games this season. Not a huge amount per game, but more than Thompson and slightly less than Fornah, so he shouldn’t be any more or less up to speed than some of our other options.
  22. For those with any concerns about his injury record. It appears it was a complete freak incident and isn’t something that’s a recurring injury… his match sharpness would be the main issue. He managed four full seasons prior to joining Cardiff, then has barely played in the last two years. He’s probably one to ease in slowly, which isn’t the most ideal when there’s only a few months left. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/brutal-injury-never-seen-before-27550239.amp
  23. It’ll mean that the deal is all but dead. Chansiri is digging his heels in, so all but a massive U-turn last minute, that’ll be that. I’d like to hope there’s a better option out there for us than Gregory. And we shouldn’t be waiting for any U-turn from Wednesday as it’ll ultimately ruin any chance we have of getting a good alternative.
