  1. The EFL had to review and accept anything we offered him, I highly doubt they'd just let us chuck a load of money at him. Even if he is on a promotion bonus of some kind, the benefit of promotion would far outweigh whatever we would be paying him.
  2. I think it's also a massive positive that he seems to just be eager to play football and contribute to what will hopefully be a successful end to the season. He was reportedly on 35k a week at Stoke. He left by mutual consent to go and play football for a quarter of the season, when he could have just sat around at Stoke and earned 4x a much to do very little. At 34, to walk away from the most he will ever earn again as a player just to play regularly is something you don't see too often.
  3. I've been busy at work thinking of some top-notch songs to see us through to til the end of the season. Here's a few. To the tune of Day-O (Banana Boat Song): Gayyyleee, Gaaayyyyyleeee, Gayle comes and he scores a goal. Hey Mr Paul Warne, give us a promotion, Gayle comes and he scores a goal. To the tune of Shout (James Corden and Dizzee Rascal version): Gayle, Gayle, Gayle, Gayyylleeee, Gayle, Gayle, Gayle, Gayylylleeee, Shout, shout, let it all out (Come on Derby), these are the things I can't do without So come on, Come and score a goal if you think you're 'ard. And finally, an interactive version for everybody. Boom Boom Boom by the Outhere Brothers: South Stand: Boom boom boom, let me hear you say Gayle East Stand: Gayle! South Stand: Boom boom boom, let me hear you say Gayle West Stand: Gayle! South Stand: Boom boom boom, let me hear you say Gayle North Stand: Gayle! South Stand: I said a boom boom boom, everybody say Gayle Whole stadium: GAYLE!
  4. Odd thing to post unless there’s something in the pipeline…
  5. Gutted for him. I think if we avoid the play-offs, then that’s probably his last game for us gone. It’s a real shame. I think he would’ve had a real shout at POTS if we got automatic promotion. Being the only fit striker for a vast majority of the season, and still put in endless effort with a positive outcome, he would have been a worthy winner.
  6. I don’t think he’ll be the only one who is disappointed to be putting the knives back in the drawer as the full-time whistle went.
  7. Very strange reaction to a win, you’re almost disappointed that we won? We’re second in the table. Whether you enjoy his football or management style is a different question, but ‘big’’ sides have failed multiple times in this division. If you look at results alone, he’s actually doing a very good job. To call him a clown is a little childish in my opinion.
  8. What an important day this could be, I don’t really care that it wasn’t one for the ages, it could be massive. We’ve “gained”… +2 on Bolton, +3 on Peterborough, +2 on Oxford, +3 on Stevenage. Most importantly, we’re now three clear of Bolton in 3rd. They may have two games in hand, but one of those is Barnsley away. If we don’t have to go too many games without even one striker, then we might just do it.
  9. I’m convinced that this is Collins behind Tom Barkhuizen in the training pictures. It’s almost too perfectly lined up. The sleeve obscuring the number on the gloves (why is that a thing?), Barks’ hand blocking the number on the joggers, face out of sight etc. But on the Instagram version, the photo isn’t cut off at the shins, so you can see the boots. Derby’s Instagram feed conveniently has a nice still image of Collins wearing the same boots whilst scoring the winner against Cheltenham. And yes, I do have too much time on my hands. Exhibits A, and B.
  10. Warne said that Nyambe is fine and out on the grass, then said “all the lads are out on the grass”, just after talking about Collins, doesn’t that suggest he is training but that a scan result from his knee could show something serious, although that’s not likely? It looks like Warne is just keeping his cards close to his chest in what is a big game against another promotion contender. The amount of players we have that are “sore” also shows the impact playing Saturday-Tuesday for the next 5 weeks might have on Bolton, if you’re constantly not able to recover properly then the results will drop, I’m hoping that’ll be an edge we can have over them in beating them to the top 2.
  11. How far off are Washington and Waghorn? I expect if Collins is ruled out for any extended period of time, then it’ll be Barkhuizen or NML up top with other wide options of CBT, Wilson, Ward and Sibley at a push if we play 4-3-3. Brown will probably end up coming back too. It does seem pretty odd that the injury could put Collins out for at least 3 months, or he could be fine in 2 days time. The fact that Saturday is even a possibility suggests he’s able to move around on it fine and relatively pain-free, so I’m hoping it’s nothing.
  12. Max must have a goal bonus in his Bristol City contract...
  13. Posh losing, Bolton losing and a man sent off… what an opportunity.
  14. He won us 3 points at Port Vale which could end up being vital come the end of the season. If we do end up finishing in the top 2 this season, then he's made a contribution to that.
  15. They're 21 points off 6th, and 6th have two games in hand... Stevenage's PPG will see them end with around 84 points if they carry on as they are. Charlton can only win 48 more points, meaning the highest they can get to is 79, and that's if they go on a 16 game winning streak. The 16 game winning streak is even more unlikely when you consider the following. They've only won 7 all season. They've conceded more than anybody except for Fleetwood (23rd) and Carlisle (24th). In their last 5 games, they have 1 point. Now that CBT has left, their second highest scorer has a whopping 3 league goals. They definitely have a chance of getting out of League One, just not the right way.
  16. I always have more confidence when we're away from home compared to when we're at home for some reason. I guarantee we'll make things harder for ourselves on Saturday than we did today.
  17. Full-time! Another really good away win and we're in the automatic spots. I appreciate that others have game(s) in hand, but it's been a long, long time since we've been in the top two of any league, especially at this stage of the season. Hopefully that gives us a psychological boost going forward. Adams looks a really good addition, others who looked to be on the fringes for the rest of the season, Ward, Bradley etc. also had a decent game. Hopefully NML and CBT are fit enough for next weekend and then it's been a really good weekend for us. Four of the top 7 failed to win, well done to Paul Warne & the lads for taking the opportunity to gain some ground! And after Thursday night, I thought the season was over. Maybe not eh?
  18. 2-3, somehow. Convinced I jinxed it. I also didn't realise that we currently have the best GD in the division so far, we don't seem to have blown many teams away this season.
