In the game I saw we scored 2 goals and created nothing else of note in 90 minutes.
Portsmouth on top of their 2 goals missed an open goal, had a 1v1 saved by Wildsmith's legs and the penalty incident at the end. Calling the above an even game and a fair draw is a bit of a stretch.

Press a man hard on a pitch as waterlogged as that and as you approach he’ll push the ball to one side and watch you slide towards the bye line like a duck landing on a lake north of Toronto in February

Surely every post in here is an opinion?
X had a good game tonight.
    That’s a good point.
    Warne’s subs were poor.
    Thompson looked lively.
Wildsmith has to do better there.
    Warne deserves credit tonight.
Pretty much everyone’s statements in here are opinions. Mine too. It would look a bit tedious if you have to write IMO after every line.
Opinions are fine as long as they aren’t insulting anybody.

Good point in the end that. Got undone by a screamer which can happen.
But on another night they could score that open goal and get a penalty (if that was us, I'd want a penalty for what Wilson did) it definitely falls into the category of "I've seen them given" and I would agree with Curtis Davies in that if it's anywhere else on the pitch it's a foul.
But we defended well, held our shape well and it was a good away performance.
Now we've got 8 days to rest. A luxury no other team is getting.
I think 3 wins will do the job now. That would mean Bolton need 4 wins and a draw from their last 5 games. Which I just cannot see them getting.
If we can go to Wycombe and get a result, it will take the pressure off slightly for the remaining 3 games.
Hoping Bristol Rovers can do us a massive favour on Saturday, but they seem to be on the beach, so I'm not hopeful.
Another thing with the result today, it means that Pompey can go up with a win at Bolton. So they'll still have something to play for.
Maybe have Bird, Gayle and Barkhuizen back for Wycombe away too. Who hopefully will have a Wembley hangover.
    We can do it.
    Up The Rams!

    Good point
like many im sure, a little disappointed we sat so deep so early and invited them on to us. I get why .. just wish we could have been a few yards higher but .. its football, game momentum is a big thing.
work rate was phenomenal to a man.

    we go again

I am not a happy clapper but Warne got most of it right tonight and I am proud of the team. Bolton now need 2 wins to get above us.

I’m not sure how calling this fixture a Championship one next season can be deemed negative.
    We are going up.

    Why high press??
Just because Man City and Liverpool do it, does it mean everyone does? Our shape and discipline were outstanding. We were comfortable. They created nothing. There was no space, everything was in front. Just because they had 70 odd percent possession means nothing. We were not holding on. We were sitting deep, but they were getting frustrated. A wonder strike was the difference. A high press is what they would want, opening gaps to exploit.

I'm not a Warne basher at all but imo he's had a stinker, Collins shouldn't of been on the pitch still being on a yellow and you're asking for trouble sitting back. We looked really good going forward in the first half best I've seen us in a long time so it's frustrating we didn't continue to go at them in the second.

Big point that. Not least as it means we can’t be knocked out of the top two before we play again.

I'd gladly let them have the pen if both of their goals were scrubbed off.

Sadly that's the last chance of winning the league gone, but on balance, I suppose it's a fair enough result. Disappointing that the offside and handball were not clocked for their goals, but we could have conceded a pen on another day.
There'll be some tired legs in both changing rooms tonight. Two decent sides who gave their absolute all.

Solid point. We can talk about if, buts and maybes but to go to the leaders and match them toe to toe in that weather is some effort.

Football is an unpredictable beast but we have 4 winnable matches now. We’d be desperately unlucky for Bolton, Posh and Barnsley not to drop anymore points.

Let’s enjoy Saturday off and hopefully a couple of teams do us a favour.

That’s a great point considering how much possession we allowed them.
Hopefully Pompey do us a favour v Bolton.
Kamara was nullified in the second half but we really need to use the ball better, this will be a typical Championship fixture if we go up.
I’d have given Adams MOM, he is so important to the side.

Hourihane and Waghorn coming on. Such a shame we’ve got the injuries we have, reckon if we had the likes of Bird and Barkhuizen available we’d have put these to the sword

Poor game management gave them far too much respect, didn't look like troubling us either so far in the second we should've gone for the 3rd.
