This. Exactly this. I haven’t commented at all on this but have been reading this thread every day since it started. I know the trials and tribulations we’ve been through and how this has affected us.
like NottsRam77 I thought I’d been dealing with it okay. Carrying on the day to day and all that. But hadn’t realized the extent it had actually affected me….until last night.
As the news broke the sense of relief was unbelievable for sure, but suddenly I found my eyes welling with tears. Genuine tears. Then hearing Ed Dawes on RD also in tears - live on air - it sent me completely over the edge into floods of them.

Once I’d composed myself I allowed myself a quiet glass or two and raised a toast to David Clowes and our great club.

So the great re-set has begun and with it a recalibration of our expectations. At this point I’m just happy to still have a club. And for it to be run properly. This whole episode has been a truly humbling experience for us all and one I do not wish to live through again. And one I wouldn’t wish on any fans of other clubs, in spite of some of the disgraceful attitudes from ‘followers’ of other clubs.
So if we find ourselves in a situation where we are losing 3-0 at home to a team like Forest Green Rovers on a miserable rainy Tuesday night, I’m going to give my arm a pinch and remember that things could have been very different and we may not have actually been able to witness it. And then hold on to the hope that better days will return.
Because make no mistake - those better days will come.

I’m normally very balanced and fair minded (I think?) but I’d be more than happy to see a few other clubs go through similar pain to us. Not necessarily go out of existence, but suffer in the same way we have in terms of being pilloried, much of the time for imagined, misunderstood or exaggerated ‘crimes’, victimised and treated about as unfairly as you can by the EFL (who I still can’t believe haven’t been taken to court over their disciplinary procedures - completely flawed - or their collusion with Boro), other clubs coming in and exploiting our situation both in terms of ludicrous ‘charges’ against us or poaching players, the ridiculous rules (again EFL) that actively try to impede any way of getting out of the mess, rules (again EFL) which somehow allow you to be punished multiple times for the same misdemeanours and the complete lack of discretion used by the EFL to help us in any way. Yep, I’d be ok with other fans having the same experience; might teach them some humility.

BUT much more than this, the more clubs that go through this, the more likely it is that they will learn they need to change; need to find a way to level the playing field, stop the need for clubs to massively overspend to compete with parachute payments, address the obscene disparities between the PL and EFL and so on and so forth.
    Anyway, bitter rant over. Sorry.

It matters because you are on a Derby forum doling out doom diatribes on a daily basis. If you want respect, give it and answer the question put to you on multiple occasions by multiple posters. Your evasiveness just comes across as sketchy AF to be honest and is simply going to lead to you being more and more regularly called out. Frankly, it's all very well claiming to have grand affection for the club, but when you clearly have very little for the supporters, this is the inevitable upshot.
In all honesty, I've taken everything you've posted with a massive pinch of salt and have never been that concerned about not having a club to support moving forwards. That's not true of everyone on here, however, as you well know, so given your posting record, I have to conclude that your motivations are less than savoury. Even setting your relentless, one-sided and materially flawed narrative aside, the fact is you've not been right about anything thus far which makes me wonder further why you bother. Hard to draw more than a single conclusion, I'm afraid. And before you trot out more lame BS about how I should be a politician, or other lame attempts at deflection, this is me exercising the right to free speech you're so keen to claim and advocate. Best learn to deal with it really, if you intend on continuing in the same vein.

Agree up to a point. But the rot started to set in before a lot of the injuries took hold. A lot of teams sussed us out he didn’t seem able to arrest the decline. In that 2014 season we still had a squad good enough to make the playoffs. Also we’ll never know how much of a distraction the Newcastle thing was.

Same happened in his second spell albeit to a lesser extent and couldn’t really blame injuries for that one.
So it’s still a no from me.

I suspect McClaren would follow his usual cycle by presiding over a sudden upturn in both performances and results followed by the usual downturn, lack of a plan B and the inevitable parting of the ways.
    Time to move on.

Lampard took us to Wembley, that’s how far McClaren took us. Did it without Martin as well, something McClaren couldn’t do.
