1. I think Warne will keep Vickers in goal - he deserves it on the basis of his previous performance. 
2. I think Yates does come straight in. Collins was effective but I think Yates was really good in preseason and can make a real difference.

Rutter going to Brighton for 40m, you really dont get much for your money on strikers nowadays.
With each passing signing like this I cant help but feel it makes our loan deal for Yates look better each time, considering he went for a decent fee last summer & was Swansea's top scorer as well scoring plenty for Blackpool at this level too.

There's no better time to get a striker cut price then when they are out of form or no where near getting in a side. You just have to hope the gamble pays off and they hit form again.
Yates is a prime example or a deal we have gone for hoping he hits form as he was surplus at Swansea.
Ladapo or someone like him could come in and be rubbish or come in find form, bit of love from fans, players and staff and hit 15 goals. Thats the gamble.
We can't cherry pick teams top scorers or players. We have to be cute in the market.
I'm not saying ladapo is the answer and we must sign him, but I can see the reason why, when some like like cannon is on rumours of 50k + a week and his team are demanding a 7 figure loan fee, he would be someone we have to look at. Our cloth has been cut.

The most obvious loan candidate is Woodrow. Ladapo wasn't great in a league one loan last year, Stanfield likely not going anywhere and if he does it won't be a loan, Cannon expensive and isn't a target man and whilst Jebbison would be good, likely dear and again, not a target man.

Sekou Mara wasn't even in the squad. He'd be high in my loan priority list. 6 goals and 2 assists in 1009 mins across all competitions last season.

Kenzo, JWZ, Nyambe, Ebou, CBT, Osborn, Vickers, Jackson, Brown, Elder, NML, Ward, Rooney, Robinson, Cashin 
are all players contracted to start the 25/26 season with us. 
 
I share your concern about not building long term for the future but - maybe in 12 months we have 1/2 more academy products stepping up to first team training, you assume Wilson, Thommo and Nelson might be offered extensions. 
 
That to me sees a slightly smaller rebuild needed next summer. And then if the summer after requires a smaller rebuild we eventually end up at a point where we are freshening up a core squad each transfer window rather than making wholesale changes. 
 
 

Was expecting us to lose but was reallg impressed with us today from a defensive standpoint.
We got our tactics & shape pretty much spot on, we struggled when they were intricate around the box but we wanted them to play it wide knowing we would clean up on the crosses. Even more impressive was that we had to make 2 changes to the defense in the first 25mins & we still stoof up strong. Bradley & Nyambe came in & did a very good job. Elder looked solid too. Vickers with his best performance for us to, clearly competetion does increase performance
I loved how much we fought for the balls & very rarely made it easy for them....like we did vs Blackburn.
I thought Ozoh was really good, started a little shaky but his physicality in there will be much needed this season. Osborn ran himself into the ground too.
My only disappointment today was NML, dont think he offered much at all. 2nd half he stopped tracking back as well, glad to see Warne bring him off.
Lastly, Jackson took his chance brilliantly. Having that much time on the ball can sometimes be a bad thing but he looked composed the whole time.
Overally, not the prettiest but a very gritty performance & one i was happy with. 1 player for them on the bench cost more than our squad so we have to keep expectations realistic this season.
