  1. In recent games Sibley has shown great ability at left back and done well in midfield. Great to see his increased maturity and his eradication of the reckless fouls which were such a feature of his play, regularly costing us dangerous free kicks. He 's an important squad member and deserves a new contract.
  2. You should trying selling your database ...... there must be some numbskulls out there who would buy it, who prefer pouring over the data to actually enjoying the football . But you are being perverse in choosing to use "luck" to describe why our scores being different to the prediction. You fail to point out that both Barnsley and Bolton are "luckier" than us. You don't grasp that doing better than predicted by your statistics isn't necessarily down to luck. None of the Xg sites claims their models can take account of all the variables. If it was sunny tomorrow when the weather forecasters said it would rain we might feel lucky ignoring that equally the weather forecaster's model was not a perfect predictor. Worst of all is you anti-Derby stance, since you wouldn't use such language otherwise.
  3. This is the key point. No need to refer to how Corey-Blackett. has done so far, that's not relevant. rather why prioritise another winger against the more urgent need for another forward ? Criminal negligence and a mistake we also made in the summer transfer window. Warne's words today included how important is having a Collins-like figure to lead the line owtte, so what are we supposed to do now?
  4. They would be quite happy with 3 quality goals and a clean sheet
  5. Collins likeability falls as his offside rate rises. But we would be up shyyte creek if he got injured. Was he done for offside at all this evening?
  6. Warne doesn't pick Hourihane for his running. !!
  7. Pathetic.. having a proper defensive midfielder ( and such a skilfull one) is what has given him more freedom.
  8. No-one wants to give Warne credit - just garbage. Like the vast majority I was well pleased with the post -Stevenage improvement. But by focussing on points scored you can skate over the fact that the original faults have been evident in quite a few games we have won and have not gone away. Faults like our excess caution , the predictability that comes from the repeated playing down the wings and limitations of playing one up front most of the time remain and are down to the manager. Not sure if you go to games but its depressing to travel a long way to the match only for us limply to concede an equaliser in the closing minutes, which has happened quite a few times recently. I think our squad is good but Our defence has a good record but these late goals are often conceded after substitutions supposed to enable us to see out the game.
  9. I am very happy with Collins this season but the above can't be the criterion on which he is judged cos he has a very specific role in scoring goals with our current squad. If he ain't scoring he's failing..
  10. Don't believe Clowes will be micromanaging the building of the team as your post suggests. Its not a case of players not working out but that the strategy doesn't meet the main needs. There is a clear need for another striker. having o nly one regularly fit competent striker takes us back to the problems we had when under EFL sanction, when we are /should be in a much better position to acquire new players now. Admittedly Collins is doing well but we need cover if we are undertaking a promotion push. We had the same striker issue last summer and have learnt nowt from that.
  11. In the end we will be damaged far more by Warne's tactics and team selection than the failure to secure another striker.
  12. Collins has done very well this season but your description isn't valid for last season, when Warne was driven to leaving him out of the team and McGoldrick was the main man.
  13. And if Collins gets injured?
  14. Even if we manage to find another forward what proportion of the time will they be on the pitch at the same timers as Collins? Thats the real problem. Though we do need cover for Collins.
  15. This is just not true - see whoscored stats or just imagine how he scored his recent goals or assists. Most of thet ime our centre backs are very deep - too far back and thats one of our problems. Hourihane is doing what Warne tells him.
  16. You clearly unfairly prefer to reserve your vitriol for individual players , who are actually prisoners of the way Warne selects the team , the formation and tactics he employs. ( judging by some of your posts in other threads). Perhaps vitriol towards players is not a good idea when there is still much to play for and given the limited choices we have.
  17. I think that it s not about "after 1 defeat" since most will be thinking of the poor attacking performance ta Lincoln as well as last night. I am sure a few matches ago we were saying that the Lincoln and QPR matches were winnable. The alarmingly poor performances all over the pitch is exactly what we have seen before. Players were giving the ball away all the time and Elder's performance was the only bright spot in a dire match (for us). It became predictable that for so many of the 50-50 balls the Derby player would limply struggle and then lose out. It's Warnes' job to motivate the players and he is clearly failing. No celebration from me about bringing in another wide player when a goal scorer effective the opposition box is what should be the priority.
  18. Laughable. Not a major contribution ... but it got us 2 points !! As with Bird the whoscored stats give a different view and Hourhane was our most highly rated player.
  19. His quick removal from the pitch by Warne will have given him some sort of message.
  20. But they scored when two of our players made horrible mistakes, Those apart our goal was not under threat that much.
  21. The comments made are not about next season but on matches already played.
