  1. Response to the moronic posters who say on here Hourihane brings nothing to the team. Warne's verdict is a bit different
  2. Hardly. Short memory ? We are poor at defending set pieces.
  3. Bradley's defensive headers so poor - another one gone ( unintentionally) backwards.
  4. You missed the oxford game then ?? Cos the evidence of that contradicts what you say - how many effective balls did Hourihane deliver into the box as well as for his actual assist?
  5. Good to read a sensible post........those negative hand-wringers and haters of their own players seem to have forgotten the positives of the unbeaten run. OK we made mistakes today but could still have easily avoided losing. Our defending in the last few minutes has proved fragile before.
  6. Played further forward, as he has been recently, Bird doesn't cut it - he is indecisive when given a shooting chance but Hourihane, who Warne plays further back is much better at that ( though not necessarily having the energy now to this effectively ). The Max Bird we knew with incisive passing has long disappeared.
  7. John Jules is so quick and his play so intelligent - he needs more time on the pitch
  8. With our current unbeaten run should we not be back on board the Warne train by now? What more could they be doing given the accepted limitations of some of the squad? Definite progression in performance in the last few games. More settled team selection and the individual improvement of players like Wilson gives hope that we can be more consistent.
  9. But Fornah was worse than Bird and Hourihane tonight. Sadly Fornah was ineffective, giving the ball away too often ( not that Bird and Hourihane don't also give the ball away) and running into blind alleys.
  10. Team spirit and togetherness has been good throughout - hard to know what you are on about. "lots of moaning" seems very far off the mark to me.
  11. Barkhuizen poor tonight - offside more than once , giving the ball away and slack defensively
  12. But did the 6 minutes at the end reflect the amount of time wasting? There was only 1 min at end of 1st half when delay from injury easily covered that.
  13. She did NOWT to address their timewasting or taking throwins or free kicks well beyond the actual position.
  14. And the FA cup defeat never happened 9 and of course can't be put right by our current improved form. Grow up.
  15. So if its not a predictor for a single game, why quote the figures for a single game rather than some longer average .... though that would be even more pointless.
  16. It was the switching of the position of mendez laing that made the difference in the second half, nowt to do with 3 cbs Warne told us that himself.
  17. So what would the Xg of Garnacho's goal for Man Utd on Sunday have been? - very small one would judge, yet it was a superb goal. Can't think of any interview with Premier League coaching staff where I have ever heard them use Xg to rate a performance. Its not a good statistic because there are too many variables which determine the quality of play. Xg measures "something" but that is only a limited part . How many variables are actually used when computing the Xg values?
  18. Do you think Hourihane does what you describe because he just fancies doing that or because its where the manager instructs him to play? He has much more to offer in a more forward position.
  19. There are some managers who have the skill to motivate their team for cup ties year after year ........ N Clough ? Warnes management for the important cup competitions this season has been dire and potentially costly. Your snide comment about the pile on brigade is untrue and ignores the mentality of supporting a team life long. Looking forward to Tuesday's performance with optimism after the excellent performance against Barnsley, most of us will have been severely disappointed listening to the match commentary. Listening to Warne's cod psychology after the game was painful. Where is the ambition in the man? His own comments admit he fails to motivate the team ..(doesn't know why the players don't follow his instructions) and managers have to take the rap for such inconsistency in performance.
  20. The barometer is that we were within 2 minutes of going out of the competition and could well have been out . Sadly that happened last night and we clearly learnt nothing from the first tie about how to combat a team which packs the defence.
  21. Surely he can ( and should) speak of "the players" or the"team" not playing well and criticise them, or even use the royal "we". Pretty sure Alex Ferguson did that. The trouble is Warne often thinks we played well when the performance was poor e.g. the away game at Crewe.
  22. Warnes tactics supress invention.
  23. This is sad news. B4 set us all an example in optimism and was able to express the love for the club we all share but to do so in such an open, uncomplicated way. I hope we have a way of expressing this loss at the next home league game.
