Can’t believe we can’t watch weekend away games on Rams tv , I have paid 495 quid for a season ticket and they think I will be happy to watch perhaps only 20 ish games ,

Before you're too critical of the club re-check your maths buddy. It's 23 just with home games plus, I think, 8 mid week away games (assuming we can't get to games all season). So, that's 31 which equates to £16 a game.

Yes I know, watching on TV isn't the same as being there but it's not something within the clubs control. Plus, there is a hope that we will be allowed in later in the season.

Have the club announced any sort of policy for fans living in the same household? 3x RamsTV passes doesn’t really help in that scenario..

It doesn’t help but, it doesn’t make them any worse off than supporters living on their own or just with other non Rams fans.

In your scenario, can’t two of the supporters just request a refund? I know this would mean they’re not in the ballot for actually attending games but, as I say, by renewing they’re not losing out they’re just not benefiting from living with other fans. You could argue, why should they?

Love big engined AMG’s ... when they fire up they sound real old fashioned grunty / horny BHP. No chance of affording to run one, but glorious on song .. what engine have you got in yours ?

I’d love some petrol driven horsepower and it’s cheap to buy .. but and flipping fortune to run if you cover any miles.

It’s not a big engine, only 1461 (diesel). I think the AMG line for the B class is more about it’s features than engine size/performance but,  a joy to drive especially with the four different dynamic select options. Whilst still not quite a Suburu, I got the “sporty” car out of my mid live crisis when I drove a 2 litre Hyundai for a few years.

  4. Mercedes B Class AMG automatic.

Five years old now and, given I've just been asked to go and do a contract with the company I last worked for (two years ago. I've not  been looking for a new contract since then) I may treat myself and change it for a new one (well, ideally not brand new but one with less than 3000 miles on the clock) over the next couple of months.

That's an assumption. We haven't said what we are doing for those with ST who hadn't renewed yet.

Of course an assumption, the club have said details to follow I believe. I'm just suggesting, if that is what they do, it's not an unreasonable deal for those that were unable to renew.

In one of my posts I did say it's best if we just wait and see what they come out with.

What about season ticket holders who haven't been allowed to renew? My son went online on the Tuesday they ended renewals, with the cut-off time at 12.00pm. He went on at 10.30, and they had already closed renewals. Will we get the matches as if we had renewed?

You will but at £10 a time. Still a good deal and cheaper than buying a ST so, nothing to complain about really.

I don't think that's a controversial view. Many regard it as the worst of all the SW films.

I just found it mostly dull (endless talk of trade embargoes and politics) and annoying (JarJar Binks). They also had a great villain in Darth Maul and then wasted the opportunity by killing him off too quickly.

    Awful film.

Fair enough. Trouble is it hasn't exactly inspired me to want to watch any of the others.

  8. Brace yourselves, and this might be the cause of a whole new debate even more polarised than the politics thread.

Finally, at the age of 60, as my grandsons are both big fans, I managed to watch my first ever Star Wars film: The phantom menace.

Have to say, I was underwhelmed. Too much reliance on special effects, fight scenes and racing around for my liking. Although the film was only just over two hours, it seemed to go on for ever and I was willing it to end as I had vowed to watch it all the way through. (Tin helmet firmly in place awaiting any responses).

Papillon: based on true story of French penal colonies. Quite brutal, starring Charlie Hunnam (Jax from Sons of Anarchy) and Rami Malek (Mr Robot/ Freddie Mercury). I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Is it better than the original with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman though?

I’m halfway through season 1 of True Detective and yes I’m having heart palpitations.

Great series. Sadly, from what I remember, subsequent seasons fell well short of this high standard.

Any idea why all crypto currencies took a nosedive this morning?

You may already have come across it but if you find the world of crypto currencies interesting, there is a good podcast on BBC Sounds called The Missing Cryptoqueen.

  12. Just watched "Undefeated" on Sky documentaries. An absolute must watch for anyone interested in sport and American Football in particular. It's about a high school team from a deprived area of Memphis that has never won a play off game their history.

    Can't rate it highly enough.

  13. So, I’ve just finished watching Penny Dreadful, City of Angels.

After a promising start I was somewhat underwhelmed and disappointed.

Parts of the series seemed to be a showcase for the dancing which, whilst impressive and entertaining, did nothing for the storyline and was really just a distraction.

Some of the acting and dialogue was a little dodgy as well. If you’ve never been on it (bad luck, it was a great great but no longer there) this won’t mean anything to you but, imagine the gangster that takes over the tour on Walt Disney Worlds Great Movie Ride.

Finished series 1 of the Fargo anthology having got about 4 episodes in 3 or 4 years ago. Don't know why I abandoned it. Superb. Billy Bob Thornton is absolutely captivating as a psycho hitman and the supporting cast are all great once you get past Martin Freeman's accent.

I don't know who directed the episodes, but they've got the Coen Brothers touches nailed.

Series 2 took an episode and a half to get adjusted to but well into that now.

Have you seen the film? That’s pretty good also.

I had a couple of jokers try and do their sales pitch for home security in my own home. One even started taking his shoes off! I said a firm 'no' and sent them on their way. Someone elderly or less forceful might have difficulty getting rid. Not had a cold caller for a few years now though.

I'm surprised you let them through the door.

Closed shop that they haven't won for 30 years!

Fair point but, do you realistically see anyone other than the teams I mentioned being serious contenders? Liverpool are part of that closed shop, they have just failed to convert membership into actual titles. They are still amongst a very small group of teams that could win the title (baring another Leicester miracle).

Because I'm bored and have nothing better to do, I've taken a look at which teams have occupied the top four places over the last 20 years. So that's 80 places (20 years x 4 places).

The clubs I have mentioned have occupied 85% of those places. (Arsenal 17 of the 80, Man U 16, Chelsea 13, Liverpool 12 and Man City 9).

Outside of those five teams, only Spurs (6 times), Newcastle (2 times), Leeds (2 times), Everton (once) and Leicester (once) have made it into the top four.

So, I think it is pretty close to a closed shop.

I suppose, what I should have said, is I'd be more interested if a team other than one of the "big"  five were challenging.
