All very reasonable and polite when he goes on the radio or posts on here, but strikes me as the sort of bloke who'll wee up your back and tell you it's raining, all the while claiming to be fighting against such characters.
The ultimate irony is that if the EFL had actually listened to him and his busybodying, demanded we use a certain method etc (rather than letting us go on our merry way, overspending in multiple years) it could have helped save us a couple of years worth of punishments.

I’m no fan of Mel Morris, but why anyone would welcome Sam Rush back is beyond me.
He was partly responsible for breaking up the 2013-14 squad, tripling our wage bill while making us worse.
Oh, and didn’t he financially benefit from it too?
The name Wasserman sends shivers down my spine.

Dont mind it being Appleby but really dont want Rush anywhere near the club again.
Appleby would be taking us on almost like the first time - midway through a season with a likely relegation incoming & a huge need for stability as well as the books needing to be sorted.

Sam Rush was the highest paid CEO in the championship, and Mel trusted him and his knowledge and experience in football to run the club, sadley he let him down, buying 8 or 10( could be more) sub standard players on 4 or 5 year contracts on £20,000 a week wages make no mistake Mel made a total mess of the club however Rush was not far behind.
Rush players what have they gone on to achieve since leaving Derby?

Mel Morris should be gifting the stadium back, Im sorry but Morris shouldn't take one penny unless he leaves the club £15m in debt as he found it.  His reckless gambling to the point that liquidation is nothing short of shamful.
He's a man tht publically let us all think that all is well while maxing out tge Credit Cards then walking away with the clubs biggest asset in his back pocket is nothing short of a disgrace.

Obviously nothing wrong with debate but I do find the suggestion ridiculous.
This is probably the worst set of circumstances any post-war Derby manager has ever had to manage. On results alone, we are above bottom 3 despite the EFL trying to strangle our squad for the past 2 years & our owner deciding he didn't fancy funding us any longer.
We play decent football albeit without a cutting edge...not surprising as we have no strikers. With regard to Sibley, his first touch has been so poor I wouldn't pick him either. You simply can not get away with that when you're as slow as he is.
And no point discussing overall win stats without considering context. May as well anoint Steve McClaren as our best manager ever on that basis or say Paul Clement was a better manager than Jim Smith or Arthur Cox.

We haven’t been allowed to have a centre forward all season CKR has done ok for an old converted winger but this season looks completely spent whilst Baldock was a cheap broken option so the EFL could say they let us have someone.
you can’t win many games if you are not allowed to have any forwards and the EFL have forced most if not all your better prospects to be out of contract and not sure where they will be in four weeks to four months time.

I guess that's directed at me,why would i need to post on a matchday thread, nobody wants to know how i feel about the match or how well we have or haven't played. I can't see the point in saying Lawrence (or any other player of your choice) has had a good game then the next week saying he is the devil in disguise because he missed a sitter. I post on here because i don't want to see the club go under,i am not being negative just realistic. If that doesn't fit in with your way of thinking there is nothing i can do about that.

Politician sees easy win in saying "save the local football team" whilst not having any actual power with which to do so.
Club survives, "it was me" club is liquidated "wouldn't have happened if my side had been in charge"
    Easy game this politics lark.

If I were Mel I wouldn’t be able to look myself in the mirror after what he has done. The destruction of the football club that he oversaw in such a short space of time is absolutely unforgivable.
He will be remembered as one of the worst owners in the history of British football.

I think the modern model of hiring and firing managers at a whim is almost as broken as the football model itself.
It's bizarre and maybe a different approach where a manager is given time to build the brand is needed. Maybe this is it?

I quite often wonder what Rooney's long game is here, as it seems bizarre to think of a legendary International footballer clinging to the wreckage of a club destined for League One
But maybe, just maybe he's seen what happened to the likes of Lampard and Solksjaer and realised that's not the path he wants right now. As a footballer you get a professional career of 15-20 years if you're lucky. If you start managing at 35 then you potentially have a management career of double that length. Learning the job in a big club with no expectations, facing tough challenges without the threat of immediate sacking if you get it wrong is actually not a bad idea. Got to be better than going in green to a massive club with a squad worth 100s of millions and getting ditched at the first sign of trouble - and finding yourself jobless after only a couple of years in the management game

I can't fathom out if Chris Kirchner sitting next to Wayne Rooney's agent to watch the game is particularly healthy or not? It might be a good thing having a club owner and a manager joined at the hip, it might not.
I still think Rooney is a somewhat unknown quantity as a manager. He has never played with a full deck. His hands have always been tied behind his back. However, there is absolutely no questioning his knowledge of football. He has lived and breathed it every single day since he was a child. Performed at the very highest level. There is no questioning his ability to motivate our players to perform. I think when he is given an even keel, his tactical nous will mature. There is no questioning his commitment to this club.
Consider where our league position would be without the points deductions? Not too bad given all the circumstances.
Please don't think of me as his biggest fan. I don't think of him as saving us from the drop last season. I actually think he almost took us down. This season is different, sadly there are possibly some inevitabilities and I always believe a manager should be given time.

Almost as ridiculous as forcing a team to play all their under 18s in a senior cup game, therefore registering them as senior players.

There are a lot of fans who are not turning up who might wish to be ‘busting a gut’ too. However, COVID has not been fair to the old - and we do have I would suggest a quite old fan demographic - nor has it been kind to many in terms of income. I think it’s a bit crass to call out fans who in the past have done their bit, but for now have good reason for not being able to attend.

We always play better against teams that like to play football, because we try to play football.
We struggle against those teams that want to rough it up, play act and wrestle their opponents.

I don’t think anyone has used that as an excuse. Covid was simply the thing that pushed us off the tightrope we’d been walking. Like many things, it was a contributory factor but, crucially it was one that could not have been reasonably allowed for. Regardless of day to day finance, it also vastly reduced the realistic possibility of a sale which had been the intention for some while.

By my quick reckoning, we owe circa £65m to external creditors.
    Main ones being:-
    HMRC £26m
    MSD £20m
    Transfer fees £8m
Reading the document on my phone so please feel free to correct if I hav mis-read anything there.
When you consider that at 30 June 2018 we were actually owed £80m, have had 2 years of income since then Id estimate at £50m, had imcoming transfer fees of maybe £20m, it really does show how badly MM let the expenditure get out of control.
I'm afraid the excuse about Covid causing our situation looks weaker by the day.
