Warne: all that was missing today was some more energy…
    …it wasn’t a bad game.

Stood shaking my head. Energy? Not being able to knit more than 3 passes together for me but I’m not a football manager.

How many games this season do you think we have played well in?

He's got to be one of the higher earners at the club.
I was trying to be positive and hope things improve but as soon as I heard what he's like with academy, that made my mind up.
We only need to look at Sunderland and what they're doing to see how you can bring the whole club together. Their average age today was just 23 with a 16 year old scoring on his league debut.
I can't see us being able to do that anytime soon with PW at the helm.

Because you aren’t going to have that level of clinical finishing for extended periods of time. Waghorn did so well considering we scored 4 goals from around 1.3 expected goals. That shows he was brilliant that game. He wont be that clinical all season otherwise he wouldn’t be playing at this level. Whereas Peterborough’s performance in the opening 25 minutes was literally exactly how they’ve played all season. Nice attacking progressive football. They understandably looked a shadow of that after we rocked them with 4 goals in 15 minutes as you’d expect any team to be rocked.

Yes we did well to hold them off but ultimately tactically what did Warne have us doing against Posh? What part of his game plan worked other than the emphasis he puts on set plays, so fair play notch that down as one for him in the positive column.
I haven’t said last week was awful. I said we took advantage of a golden 20 minute spell but Peterborough were better than us in the opening 25 and in the second half. Understandably in the second half because they were chasing down a lead. I had a brilliant time watching the match but after the emotions of a live game disappear and you start to look at the performance and whether we’d turned a corner it was evident that we hadn’t.

As I’ve said repeatedly, I wanted him gone in summer. When it became clear that wasn’t going to happen I got behind him again and genuinely hoped (and really wanted it to work) we’d look better with some of his picks in the team and a full pre season. We’ve gone backwards since last year.

I know this was always going to be one of our tougher games this season but I think the point many are trying to make is that that the gap between the two sides in terms of quality of football isn't really acceptable.
Yes Bolton are good but why shouldn't we be playing like they do? It's not like they have a much stronger squad and piles of cash.

Putting the ref aside. You can argue we only lost to a favourite for promotion away from home with a deflected goal, a dodgy red card and a peno that clearly wasn’t a peno.
However, the performances are concerning and the lack of fluency in the team is clearly a problem which stems mostly from the tactics.
The bright sparks were Fornah, who was the only player that had a good game and TJJ looked bright when he came on. Bradley mistake aside was better too.
We clearly aren’t getting enough out of the players and that stops at the managers door. He’s going to have to turn these performances around or we will slip back.

9 points from 6 isn’t exactly dreamland but that’s not what people are concerned about. We’ve watched Oxford, Wigan, Posh and Bolton play such a better brand of football than we serve up and yet we’ve got talent in the squad. We don’t have to be kick and rush merchants.
    The result? No.
    The performance in isolation? No.

The general trend and performances we’ve served up for the last 4/5 months? Yes. It’s bad. It’s really bad.

We’ll always end up roughly near the playoffs in this league because there’s a lot of poor teams but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be wanting to something that can thrive beyond league 1.

No attempt to play football at all today.  Have absolutely no idea how Warne got Rotherham promoted 3 times.   His tactics are so one-dimensional it's untrue.

Disagree. We’ve been poor in most of the games this season. We seem to have abandoned neat passing altogether. The manager has said he’s brought in players with the right character. I’ve yet to see it. Nelson is a rare exception.
The midfield is an area which needed additions even before Bird’s injury. We have failed to bring in the battling player we need for games like today.
Teams will run round Hourihane and Smith all season.
We have to get youth in there because old players don’t get better.

The best team in the league? The one that lost 4-0 in their last home game and scraped a draw against Burton last week? Give over.

Did anyone really expect any different? We knew what we were getting with Warne. I really wished we had kept Rosenior, and his record at Hull is only enhancing my thought that we downgraded, but not much we can do about that now.

My ‘argument’ is simply that I want to see a Derby County team that plays decent attacking football through all areas of the pitch including midfield, not the hoofball garbage this clown of a coach keeps insisting on playing. The individuals we have in the squad are good enough to compete for a top six place, but under Warne we are going nowhere. The only ‘unbalanced rubbish’ I’m seeing is on the pitch.

As I said in my post... "playing in a false LM position". Prior to our midfield signings and after Bird's injury, Warne publicly stated he had no senior CMs available other than Hourihane and Smith. That tells you everything you need to know.

To confirm we actually made it to 112 successful passes, from 200 attempted. You can flip a coin and more or less determine if a pass will be successful. Terrifying.
Look through those two squads. Do we think their budget is much higher than ours if at all. I would be surprised if they have anyone on as much as our 2nd or 3rd highest earner. It would be nice if we started playing some football with these footballers.
Sadly I think we could have hired their manager at the same time we hired ours.

Only one thing to take away from that...Sonny Bradley's latest catastrophic schoolboy error.
I'm angry, and I shouldn't post this...but right now I never want to see that man in a Derby County shirt ever again.

This is the manager who doesn't consider Thompson to be a viable option at CM, nevermind the likes of DRobinson and Radcliffe, which is why he was barely used last season, used at LWB in pre-season, then used as a false LM in his few appearances this season.
He complained that the squad was too small which resulted in the players being burnt out, but only used 1 player from the U21 squad in the league last season (Rooney).

Oh move on you sanctimonious git.

We had a freak 20 minutes where everything we did resulted in a goal after 25 minutes of being taught a footballing lesson. I celebrated everyone of those goals as I would normally. I was buzzing watching that period from goal 1 to halftime. I enjoyed that period of the match.

I celebrated and enjoyed our goal today.

That doesn’t mean you can’t recognise that performances have been bad. Really bad. The life was sucked out of this thread by our inability to pass to our own players, aimless balls Down the channel and a Bolton side who look a division better than us.

People can only judge what's in front of them. If it's rubbish then it will be judged accordingly.
To suggest people are enjoying this is just plain wrong.

Trying to patient but it’s difficult
I know we have had our keeper sent off but regardless in the third division we should be able to actually play some football or at least try to but we have a manager who doesn't want the football but can only bang on about crossing the ball ( to opposition centre half’s)
we have recruited totally to play a system the players can’t play with any credit and you can’t convince me that they want to actually play that way.
Not that it matters now but about 4 weeks ago I heard that Warne was desperate to sell Cashin and Bird for £2 million to replace them with more dross (by dross I mean more people who can’t play football)
without Waghorn turning up for Forsyth testermonial we would be bottom six or even bottom three.
sorry for moaning but I like to see football played with a view to entertain me - I have given Warne a full year and I only see us getting worse on the pitch with a collection of players of poor ability and whilst we still have some good players I don’t get the impression that they like what we are being asked to do.
