We'll probably deliver another 8-10m vaccines between now and July 19th as well ?
I'm not sure what the restrictions are anymore, other than going to the football I don't think life is any different for me now, but whatever they are I'm going to rebel against them if there is another extension.  Enough's enough now.

Same here. Lots of the "motivationally challenged" are very concerned about all the latest covid developments with regards to their workplace, but a quick glance at their facebook page reveals no such paranoia in their personal time. I wish I could say it was a shock, but I could've hand picked the people who would behave this way.

I know a few people that act differently from when they are at work to when they are out drinking socially.

Double standards have been applied to many things Covid related.

Got to love the switching of what is the vital figure to report haven't you.
    Infections
    Hospitalizations
    Excess deaths
    The R number
Just choose the worst one on esch given day.
Just like Hancock in Parliament today, reporting that hospitalizations are up 48% on last week (up to a grand total of 177 people), no mention of the 20% drop in the last 3 days though!

Err, no it’s not. It’s businesses like mine that trade heavily in the hospitality and leisure industry and had zero support.

    Wow.
Do you actually believe what you are saying here?
I literally know nobody that supports extending lockdown other than the noisy minority on here.
Im from an age group where we have all now had our second jabs, and even my parents who were poo scared before have said its now time to open up.

Why not ask why they’re not being vaccinated? I’m vaccinated, but don’t believe a word they’re saying. Everything we were spoonfed about the vaccine is not true now. What’s the point of the vaccine? It doesn’t work enough.

For weeks we've been told there's nothing in the data to show that we need to keep restrictions going.
Yes cases have risen but they always would do when hospitality opened indoors but people going into hospital is still flat and below what the models were expecting 3 days before an announcement on the 14th June.
Any other than lifting restrictions on the 21st June and people will be even further than the end of their tether

My god your views and opinions really are extremely unpleasant and blinkered and self centred , do you see people with mental and or emotional problems as pathetic too ? My wife is on the verge of panic attacks after 5 mins wearing a mask ,I don’t understand it fully as that’s not the case FOR ME but I know it’s very real for her , I do do know she is not pathetic though

The academy is the best thing about the club right now.
Let's not forget that these players need better "signed players" to help them improve. It's very unfair to look downwards on the academy when the problem lies within the first team.
I'd guarantee that given the right set-up (coaching), with the right players around them, a lot of the academy players would look different to what they do when they are being played out of neccessity.
Take Sibley as an example, if he'd had a different coach with a lot less pressure on him because of the first team situation and better players around him, he would IMO be a different player to what we see now. He could easily be a £5m + player and we wouldnt need to have this discussion.

It's taken a long time to make the youth set up genuinely a good one.
It's the one thing that has been done right during the Mel years.
The problem is expectation. We ended up with far to many youth players in the first team through lack of options last season.
You have to think in terms of generating useful players who will be able to have careers in the game consitently rather than expecting high value talents who get big transfers/bring things to the team that you couldn't buy.

You mean the 20,000 variant of this virus.
And who knows - they’re not worried about things. That’s my point - we are reporting and scaring everyone anytime something comes up the government/press can half link to use the phrase ‘mutant’.
Who knows what they have in the States - I’d be shocked if the Indian variant wasn’t there - just they’re not shouting from the roof tops every day about it.
Youve sadly proved my point with one line.

Genuinely believe there will be mass protests if we don’t fully open up on 21st June.
Hospitalisations are steady, cases are low (but as a lot of restrictions have opened up a small rise is expected) and the vaccine role out is progressing at 600k jabs a day.
I am sat in a pub garden and being served outdoors by a member of staff wearing a full visor. How ridiculous is that?
Whilst we keep daily reporting of the numbers and print everything SAGE keep warning about instead of looking at their performance history, the hysteria will remain.
People need to start getting on with it - like a number of US States have done and shown life continues as normal doing the things we like doing!

Whilst I wouldn't condone riots, I hope it would spell the end of the Government. The message was clear from about 9 months ago that the lockdowns were to protect the NHS from being overwhelmed and the vaccine was the way out of this.

    I'm 33, the Mrs is under 30.
I've had one jab, she's had none. I don't really want people telling me I have to stay indoors and not do anything for another month.
We've both worked though the pandemic, and as a direct consequence caught Covid back in January.
Let me ducking live. Sick of people who are vaccinated saying we have to wait. No thanks.
It's really not asking much considering the NHS is safe, hospitalisation are low and old people who are fully vaccinated are going on holiday and drinking in pubs.
Just open up the ducking country. Far more damage is being done by keeping us locked down.

    Nail on head.
If people are worried about the Indian variant then let them stay locked up in their house (if that is what they want).
I'm vaccinated now and happy to take my chances.
The people that are vulnerable to this disease, or other variants of it, are vulnerable now until it is completely eradicated, which is not going to happen.
Its quite a harsh thing to say but I am absolutely disgusted with anyone that is advocating ruining the lives of the younger generation anymore.

Exactly this for me ... yes this is what it’s all about. DCFC supporter since boyhood. Now a bloke pushing 60 and yes my head tells me we are in a mess, a shambles of a club & the big time is as far away as it’s ever been BUT to follow the Rams is in your blood and if there’s nothing to strive for, to dream to achieve then what is the point. To look forward to the days when you can introduce the mighty Rams to the grandkids and accompany them to the games, to see the excitement on their faces, this is what I look forward to. Yes, I may be a sentimental old fool but it’s the escapism from the stress & strains of everyday life that draws you to the dream. Is my heart ruling my head ABSOLUTELY .... but if the dreams & aspirations are nothing but fantasy and we accept that they are a million miles away then what is the point??
