  1. Amy,  just watched on C4, brilliantly done, surpassed Senna in the way it shed light on her private life and demons.

I'd always felt she was an overindulged spoilt brat, who felt she needed to experience life's lows to inspire her musically.

That was maybe correct, but the extent to which she was exploited by various characters, including shamefully her own father imo, was laid bare in this beautifully made film.

Great singer, fantastic lyricist, shocking guitarist, 9/10 film.

  2. You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends.

I'm pretty sure your friends don't invite you out of pity, and they wouldn't see you as a burden.

Have you ever thought that maybe they invite you because they love you and see you as part of the family?

You should take heart from their invites @Mostyn6, having people want to spend the day with you, rather than being obligated to, says it all really.

    Merry Christmas!

  3. Been out tonight, wouldn't normally drink cocktails but it was 2 for 1, look how the stupidly trendy, oh so cool gumps served it -

You're not seeing things, it really did arrive in a sandwich bag, WTF?

Luckily after the gig, had a suprisingly nice pint of Guinness brewers project  Hopped 13 lager, in a different bar, in a actual glass!

Anything to do with spirits at the moment, print, strategy, events, packaging interiors etc. Clients that I've worked with include Glenfiddich, Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, The Savoy etc etc...

I'd imagine it would be hard to design for these without trying lots of the product first,  purely for research purposes!

  5. I recently had my 1960's Omega Constellation reconditioned by a couple of skilled and dedicated enthusiasts who trade by the name of 'The Watch Guy' They take great pride in their work and are (I think) very reasonable.

However, a cloud has appeared on their (and similar minded) watch repairers horizon in the shape of the SWATCH group. Basically, restrictive practise. If you are an enthusiast of the watch makers art, then please read this email that I received this morning, and perhaps act appropriately.

    "Dear Customers,
Firstly, please accept our apologies for sending you this email unsolicited. As you are one of our customers, we would like to ask you to participate in a little survey regarding the differences between approved watch service centres and the free watch repair trade.
As you know, the Swatch Group will not supply spare parts starting 1/1/2016, which means that we won't be able to source parts for your Omegas, Longines, or anything else Swatch Group, including all watches with an ETA movement. This is 72% of all Swiss Watches, but the other 28% are already not selling to the free trade, such as Rolex, PP, AP, ...
We have put together a little survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/swiss_watches and would be very grateful if you could take 5 minutes of your time to fill it in. Also, if you know any other watch enthusiasts, please pass the URL along and spread the word. We would like to get over 1000 surveys filled in to make this meaningful.
We will use the data to get on to CEAHR to support their efforts to open up the spare parts trade, and will also give the results to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry. We feel that it should be the customers that decide where they service their watches, and not the companies that sell the watches.
Also, if you have some additional time, please contact the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry at http://www.fhs.ch/eng/contact.html and let them know how you feel and what you would like as a customer.
Thank you very much for your help; it's greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Christian & Mitka

I guess this is tied in with the European Courts ruling that Swatch are no longer obligated to provide Swiss movements to competitors, hence the scrambling amongst watch makers to develop their own movements?

  6. The future of driving, the Tesla Model S.

Totally electric, so zero emissions. Accelerates way faster than a porsche. No engine so massive storage space as it's front and back. No rubbish like gear levers (just a control on the steering wheel). Giant touchscreen. 300+ miles on a full charge. Gets better after you buy it through over-the-air updates. Can actually drive itself, if only it were legal! Free electricity for ever, via their network of supercharger stations (there's one 10 minutes from me). So unbelievably safe, no one has ever died in an accident driving a Tesla. The Model S is the one on the left. Lovely little details, like you'll see the door handles become flush with the car when you're not using them, to lower air resistance.

PS Actually, I'm still saving up, but it will be mine soon - oh yes...

The reason no one's died driving a Tesla is no one's ever managed to drive one long enough without it breaking down!☺

  7. How do you know what it's like gong down on your sister.

    Or shouldn't i ask.

    a) I was comparing tastes, which I'd assume are similar?

or b) I was raised in a soap opera, and only found out it was my sister during the Xmas special.
