It's annoying for us fans, especially with all the expected dates, I never expect us to meet an expectation now.
But taking our emotions out of it
It won't affect anything player wise if it's this week it or next, players will have negotiated deals or not. They won't be waiting until tomorrow and just decide "oh its expired, I'll leave then". The players will have terms agreed ready to go if they want to stay.

I don't think he'll leave, he's at home here and has what, 2, 3 more years maybe? He's been here that long I think he'd be happy just seeing out his last couple of years here and keeping him and his family settled

Katie Price. Exploited her disabled son for a TV show when she was running out of ideas to generate money.
Somehow hasn't been sent to prison for countless driving offences. Thankfully nobody has been killed by her actions.
    Not for me.

    I agree
But it's hard not to react when the minority's voice is the loudest and most active....
Although I can kind of deal with them, they are idiots and I try not to argue with idiots (try but don't always succeed).
The ones that really wind me up are the fans who have half the info and genuinely think the EFL have been kind, and argue their point as fact without all the actual facts!

Completely agree.  And those fans that sang about having a party, etc, whilst it’s not nice and makes you angry we just have remember they are the minority and every club has them.  All the fans have some of those clubs I’ve spoken to over the last 9 months or so have genuinely wished us well and hope we survive.  At the end of the day, they need the rivalry and banter as it’s part of being a football supporter.

For this sort of legalese nonsense, I love the idea of slipping something fun in, say halfway down p.48, such as "and we hereby state that Roy McFarland is the greatest centre half to have ever lived"  to see if anyone does actually read it. But if anyone did actually find that then the documents would have to be printed again and everyone would read even more carefully next time, so maybe best not to?

Can’t believe anyone is worried if it doesn’t happen tonight. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Clowes isn’t CK, isn’t Alonso, isn’t the Sheikh. At some point in the coming days we begin our new era.
If it doesn’t happen tonight - it’s no big deal.

All that bolarks is sorted. It's finding a 20 x 8 foot table that's causing the issues.

OK having attended many closings on deals like this, this is what happens,
    1. The closing will take place at a lawyers office
    2. All the documents to be signed are laid out on a big table typically 20ft x 8ft
    3. Most documents run to many pages in many cases up to 50-60 pages each document, each page has to be read and signed and then countersigned by a witness , typically the lawyer handling the transaction.
    4. All of this takes many hours, I have completed S+P agreements at 4.00am having started before lunch the previous day.
    5. Only when all is signed does the money get transferred, as there is a charge holder , MSD then they will have their legal team there too.
I do not expect the deal to be completed today.

If transfers are anything to go by, the EFL will be expecting a fax so the delay is while someone tries to find a fax machine on ebay with one hour delivery.

Would be interesting to know what takes so long, is it waiting on people to sign things and return them? Waiting for EFL to agree to everything?
In my head I just imagine there's one guy they are waiting on, who's decided to switch his laptop off for the day and go to the pub, not realising he needs to send something back sharpish
Money must all be in place for them to be hopeful of today still.

I'm going to assume the best and hope to see Clowes complete the takeover today or tomorrow.
If that proves to be correct, it's amazing how uncomplicated it suddenly seems to have become. As soon as someone appears with the will and the finances, the deal breezes through. No bank holiday issues, no complaints in the press about being ignored by Quantuma, nothing held up by anti-money laundering checks etc
It's almost like the others were cheapskates or fantasists.

Football creditors are not paid immediately. Payments are made when they fall due. All other creditors will be paid immediately if DC is going the 25% route, as has been reported.

    Rosenior for me.
Of the others mentioned, Dyche is a yes but doubt he'd come for what we can pay or drop this low
Dinosaurs like Warnock and Hughton, please god no.... They might bring part success but if we are going to start from scratch, let's build something worth building and looking at.
Hughton is so backwards in his thinking, Cooper took that same Forest team and look what he did, after Hughton had them bottom of the league. I don't know any of his previous teams fans that speak highly of him

Many rookie managers cut their teeth in the lower leagues, often having to build a team with limited resources.
To suggest that only experienced managers can succeed at this level or under these circumstances is a fallacy.
Ability is more important than experience; there are plenty of experienced managers with limited abilities who struggle at big budget clubs.
A rookie manager with the required abilities can succeed, if they are given the chance.
Will Liam Rosenior be a success? Who knows if he's not given the chance.
He's got a head start by knowing our set-up here, the abilities of what players we have and he must have a good idea of what we need to fill the gaps.
I say give the man a chance.
