I knew that we signed him from Sunderland around that time and also that from us he went to Wolves. I had no idea where he had gone after that either as a player or coach. It was years after his death that I heard about it. Very sad news. Not fantastically gifted as a footballer but with the heart of an ox. A true leader, and in my eyes a Rams legend.

Surely if they play a very pass heavy style it will be of benefit to him? It will help his close control, his first touch, and his awareness of what is around him. Playing a very heavily biased game could well do the opposite. The ball would be being thumped up to him and he could very easily lose confidence.

I do think that we should let our dislike for Boro, and their owner in particular, fade into the distance. We are a new club now, with new owners and new faces in the coaching and playing ranks. Embrace them, show them some love. Then when their time comes and we get the chance, stick the boot into the bar stewards and let them get everything they deserve.

I do think that we should use our own young players (if they are capable of stepping up even for a few minutes), however when his loan finishes he will be free to find a new club. I do think that in this instance we would actually be developing our own player.
