I'm getting tired of the petty bickering that's going on.
Thread closed for a short hiatus until people remember to have a bit more respect for fellow Rams posting. Frankly if you all continue in this vein I'll ask Daveo to pull the topic again.

What part of, I've been critical of the EU for forty years and didn't take any notice of the referendum campaigns, don't you understand?
You haven't responded to any of the reasoning behind these criticisms that I, and others, have spelled out over many pages. Are you incapable of engaging with an argument, or is your sole raison d'etre trying to appear superior to others by repeatedly insulting their intelligence? Either way, it's extremely tiresome.

I voted leave, on an unconditional basis. I had the option to vote remain, again on an unconditional basis. If a deal can’t be achieved by 31 October l will be very happy to leave on a no deal basis. So too I suspect will everyone else who voted leave, and knows @eddie.

Leave the EU or remain part of the EU. Nothing vague about that at all.
I don't remember this sort of reaction to the Scottish Independence referendum which was almost exactly the same 'vague' question, but there again the politicians got the result they wanted that time so no need to kick up a fuss.

Yup, he's right. I, for one, wouldn't vote again, and I know many others who feel the same.

A trade deal, for now, in all honesty, is a bad idea. Trade deals tend to benefit one or two big businesses in every sector e.g. the CBI in this scenario. What we have now with the EU is skewed. Let's not be silly and fall for what it says on the package...being members of this custom union. It's still detrimental. We need to push for full and open free trade with as many nations as possible. Any country that wants preferencial treatment should be put to the back of the queue 😋
Do some of you seriously not understand the advantages of having open and free trade with emerging and '3rd world' countries. I can explain it to you in a paragraph if you like 👍👍😋😁

Fundamental principles, knowledge and context of history are indeed sadly missing nowadays.  We joined EU to trade.  The project became a mission to have a national anthem, join the UN security council and have it's own army.
It's not surprising we voted to leave when looked at simplistically. The EU leaders still think a future generation will take us back into Europe and openly say this. As opposed to just letting and accepting fact we are leaving. Giving the extension, merely in the hope the WA would finally be accepted by the UK was simply a waste of time and has sadly increased uncertainty.
The Universities found lots of funding from the EU and have created a new generation of non thinkers.
I agree with your post, but I don't find it tiresome people can't debate and discuss issues, I personally find it a fascinating insight into human intelligence.

And you have reinforced this point by insulting the intelligence of anyone who disagrees, rather than actually engaging with the issues they raise.
Ironically it is this very arrogance which lost the referendum in the first place.

Apart from all the questions of who controls it and who pays for it, it would extend the power of the EU to impose its policies by force, and would also be a major military escalation on the world stage.
And nobody voted for it, of course, but that seems irrelevant these days.
