Yeah, bad things happen during wars. I think that's established and I don't doubt Hamas are every bit as naughty as the Israelis, but the point I was really making was how easily duped some folk are. What's the most horrific image you could think of? Beheaded babies. OK, let's go with that. Really?
It's hard to fathom why folk are so quick to believe what is essentially wartime propaganda from the IDF. Perhaps they believe the propaganda, not because they lack the wit to examine the information on their feeds, but because they lack the will.
In terms of civilian casualties and child casualties specifically, this conflict already massively outstrips the Russian - Ukraine war, yet look at the vastly different reactions elicited from Western leaders and media outlets. It's marked to say the least and there's little chatter anymore concerning proportionate responses. Make of that what you will.

I did think that too. I knew what he meant but it's important to distinguish. Many Jews are horrified because they're human and too familiar ethnic cleansing.
I think a genuine mistake from Bob. Suella Braverman however makes no such distinction between Palestinians/pro-Palestinians and terrorists. She's vile and starting to make Liz Truss comments in the Ukraine conflict seem quite calm and reasonable.

There's probably a long uncomfortable inappropriate conversation to be had about what terrorism is.
The Suffragettes were responsible for bombing and Arson. Has there been many major changes or a coup against powers that be done without violence? I'm not sure there has.
@Stive Pesleyin another thread arguing about Just Stop Oil etc and was saying these ridiculous stunts that piss people off are the only way to make change. I remember arguing against him but I think I'm wrong. I mean to what lengths and where these protests should be I suppose is a debate. But I understand now what he means. Nobody listens to the sensible guy in the corner. It has to shock. It has to reach beyond the normal audience.
Anyway, this isn't helpful and borders or even oversteps the mark of justifying Hamas attacks on innocent people. Which is equally as disgusting as the state terrorism we are seeing in Gaza.
It's impossible to justify terrorism. But at the same time we brand it differently when it's in the history books and the outcome seems morally sound, no?
I wonder sometimes if Hamas' official line was "Free state of Palestine" that would this group be seen differently?
But again, behind Israel and Hamas are lot of very powerful people who prod them both to fight. People who live safely in USA, Britain, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia etc etc

And the last mainstream UK politician who did try to negotiate peace  in the Middle East was smeared as an anti-semite terrorist sympathiser for even trying to have that dialog, so it's little wonder that no current politicians daren't go near the idea 😞

basically, tell the world that there was a Hamas commander in amongst the innocent you slaughter. Simple. Nobody will ask for evidence.

The problem is, you never know the real truth. It was a Hamas target. It was Hamas that bombed the car. It's a deep fake.
Any or none of which may be true.
Is it a legitimate target? I genuinely have no idea.

Do you ever look back through history at the villains and think how on earth did they convince enough people that this clearly evil campaign was justified? People would have to be so stupid to be so easily led
This is how. I still see so much support for what Israel are doing. The mainstream media in western countries are still very sly in how they cover the conflict fairly.
"Since 1,400 Jews were massacred on 7th October, the worst attack since 9/11" ... has to be included in every story. You have to pretend every death before that was just banter. Then you keep Israel stories personal. Keep Palestine stories on a wider scale. And either side of any Palestinian suffering make sure to frame it with Israel sympathy.
Any "fair" coverage also starts with acknowledgement that Israel have been naughty in the past. Once you admit that, then you're free to support ethnic cleansing, Apartheid, genocide.... anything. You clearly have no bias because you spent 4 seconds criticising Israel (but not really)
Very tedious. But only barbarians from the East fall for propaganda. We're all free thinkers. Liberated from dictatorships.

Certainly that's the way the Sunday Express are leaning (no surprise there).
'Free' speech and the right to demonstrate should be abolished according to their hysterical headline this evening.
It's a slippery slope - and they are oiling the runners of the sled.

The thing that gets to me is, ok, we turn them into a team that fights more and wins the physical batles, but when we do win them, then what? From what I've seen of the season so far a tiny bit more actual nouse in the final third probably would have us top six.
I hate this every time there's a "board of passing to each other lets gets a proper aggressive get at em manager" our team is 💩 at doing it and our fans hate watching it. No one is looking back back at Gary Rwett's side with misty eyes and Nigel Pearson was an abortion.
    Fed up.
Going nowhere trying to pass and move and score perfect goals is preferable to going nowhere trying to make skilled footballers out thug thug teams who are just better at it.
