I would like to offer sincere thanks to Mostyn for being brave enough to share his problems and initiate a dialogue which has allowed those of us touched by depression and mental illness to share our experiences.
I have never before spoken about my experiences with anyone other than those of us directly involved. I saw Mostyn's thread and felt compelled to participate. I have found sharing my and reading of others' experiences to be cathartic, therapeutic and healing.
 
 

There are a lot of brave posters on this thread, far braver than I for sure.
 

Thanks for sharing your posts SaintsRam, like others have said that took alot of courage.
I hit abit of a brick wall recently, my friend suggested dfepression but I think it's just generally feeling abit down. I've found myself drinking more, finding it harder to get up in the mornings and alot of lethargy at work. Was a big reason why I chose to sign off from my current job and look elsewhere. 
What usually makes me feel better is getting out and doing exercise, most notably sport. I've been entering competitions and the success (or even failure) from that gives me a huge raise.
II think this time of year has a big impact on alot of people, it certainly is for me; dreading Xmas. Every one of my friends/family are in serious relationships and I've been on my own for about 6 months. There's nothing worse than being the token single guy on nights out.
I'm pretty positive about what next year brings, and on the whole this has been a hugely successful year, but still doesn't sotp you feeling down in the dumps on occasion! 
EDIT: Of course following Forest can lead to bouts of extreme depression. 

Right all you beerophiles get your selves down to Morrisons where this deal is on, including craft and Belgian beers @eddie
oh and @Boycie Jack Daniels £15 a litre  happy days 

I'm having the same again tomorrow night too.

Good job I didn't go to the Empire State when I was there a couple of years ago.. I'd have had the same treatment!
 

 
Here's me and my flag in NY.

This was me on top of the Empire State Building in May this year, two seconds later I was pounced on and wrestled to the ground and disarmed of my "unauthorised banner" the NYPD undercover officers thought I was mounting a religious protest ! What made it worse was when they said they had never heard of Derby County !! 

Enemy at the gates , on Film Four now , 10/10 .. Brilliant..
