  1. I dunno. In my youth in London I've lived in some seriously rough old spots. If I'd been an elderly or vulnerable person, then I might have thought the security aspects were comforting, but I agree, it's not something I feel I need personally and if I did, I'd probably build it having read this thread. I guess the point is that it is a service plenty do value, but maybe not as much as Amazon do. I'd love to see the context for the hikes. Tech and rack space pricing has increased, but at nowhere near the rate the increases suggest. I'd be pretty miffed to be fair. I was actually going to suggest to my dad that he got one, but I won't bother now.
  2. Obviously folk start off paying because it was reasonably priced and convenient, but I guess those who understandably baulk at the increases could provision their own recording device to maintain the recordings without using the 'service', though there might be something in the Ring T & Cs though. Either way, I agree it's too steep a charge and will irritate existing users and put off potential new ones. You can build the functionality with OEM tech for a one off cost of about £35 or use existing home tech to mimic it. https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-save-video-ring-doorbell-free/
  3. I think your cunning linguistics used in your thread title deserved so much more love 😂 On thread, it definitely is a sting though. You know their overhead isn't getting anywhere near that much dearer so it's basically a 'we want more money or we brick your device' type piece of marketing. I hadn't even realised it is a subscription service, as I thought it's just an IP camera attached to a doorbell. What service do they provide?
  4. While we had lost 3 of our starting back 5 and and ended up with Collo as our only fit striker, then been unable to recruit cover during the window. Every team has injuries and we've had plenty ourselves, let's not pretend otherwise.
  5. Are you suggesting that Posh fans are right to be mithering then? I think you've provided the wrong example, have you not? Yes, you and others were mithering (and some continue to), during the poor run in January, but remind me, where do we sit now? I think you were in such a hurry to defend a position, that you've answered a question nobody asked.
  6. I think 99% is a huge exaggeration, but if you mean worthy of contempt, then absolutely, yes, but what does that materially change? Does it make Tucker less contemptible because there's other people just as shallow and grasping? I'm not really seeing your point here tbh.
  7. I was responding to your comment below. Anyway, I'm out.
  8. Agreed, but while we shake our heads at Russia and remark at how unrepresentative their leadership is, I'm mindful that right here on our own doorsteps we've allowed a bunch of crooks to line their pockets with Treasury money while sneering at the great unwashed. Not comparable to Putin of course, but salient to the point you make about the need for states to maintain a veneer of democracy nonetheless. IMO, we do that too.
  9. Chin up lad. Keep challenging yourself as you seem to be, look after your health, sleep regular hours, eat well. There's lots of obvious stuff, but you are at least self aware and already making good changes, so that's the hardest step out of the way. Also, it's great that you've posted on here, but you could also have an informal chat with your GP, maybe get your bloods done just to make sure there's no physiological reason for the tiredness. Anyway, stick with your new regime mate, don't deviate if the benefits are not immediately obvious. Give it time. That'd be my advice. Hope you're in better spirits very soon in any case mate.
  10. Needs to book only ground floor hotel rooms moving forward. This has somewhat become the forgotten war with the advent of the war in Gaza, but the West don't seem to mind it rumbling on as it keeps old Vlad busy, while they crack on with carving up the remaining oil and gas rights.
  11. I know I would be 😱😋
  12. I don't really you can attribute his career to luck. I'm not his biggest fan but I can't knock his record and he would and did fight anyone. Some of his fights were stonewall classics, tear-ups from start to finish and that puts bums on seats and that's what earned him a place at the top table. The only thing that always irritated me was his relentless love-in with himself. As for Calazaghe, yeah, different levels, though the list of fighters who couldn't beat Joe is a very long one. In fairness to Froch, I do think he really believed he could beat Joe, but I think the Welshman would have absolutely schooled him. It's a fight I'd like to have seen though.
  13. People will defend Musk to the hilt, even though he'd not give any of them so much as the time of day. They did the same with Brexit, Boris and Trump and yet screech when Musky attracts a bit of pisstake because apparently any criticism is just 'political'. Well yeah, duh!! Pretty clear to me that he despises those he leads around by their noses as much as those who criticise him, not that his supporters will ever see it. I'm just glad that we have him to protect our children from the queer disease and to decide what I should and shouldn't see on my feeds. Oh, that and preserving the light of human consciousness. That's the real kicker. As for Carlson, well he doesn't do journalism, he's a media whore, rentable by anyone, at any time, to push any message. Pretty sure he admitted himself that he doesn't even believe half the shyte he has promoted over the years, but as long as his invoice gets settled, it's all good. Go Tucker!
  14. Yeah, the milk of human kindness has evaporated on this forum. Do feel for the lad though, They don't seem to be more than your typical strains and tears but it seems his body takes a disproportionately long time to mend from them. Poor lad was crying his eyes out and hid his face when he was being taken from the field for this one. He knew straight away he was done. Assuming that's him done with Derby now, I'd still imagine he'll find a club after this one without too much bother, but his career will be on a downward trajectory unless he finally gets a run at it injury free. Hard lines TJJ. All the best son.
  15. Not really suggesting he's done anything RAW. Think we've all known from the off what this is about. Just having a laugh at RBR's expense really, but I'm not unhappy that it's Horner in the scope, given the accusations he's bandied about over the years. What goes around.
  16. But he was the guy BT mentioned. I thought that was what you asked? *Sorry if I'm being dim mate. Long day!
  17. Niall Ennis. Went to Stoke instead.
  18. And yet Posh 5th, Portsmouth 11th and Oxford 13th. Hmmm... 🤓
  19. Well colour me surprised 🙈
  20. Not sure folk are desperate per se, but personally I'd love to have him as an option. He has a big class edge over what we have already and to be fair, if Ipswich thought he could add something, then he'd surely do some damage in L1. As it is, it looks very unlikely as I'd assume it would already have happened if it was going to. Looking forwards, Washington is going to need a handful of games at least to get match sharp and that assumes no further relapses. Waggy seems to be struggling with no imminent return in sight. All in all, it seems a big risk not getting anyone else in. Just my opinion, mind!
  21. So, sadly, it seems Christian Horner is not a serial shagger (boring!) and the complaint actually relates to him acting in a 'controlling manner' towards a female co-worker and not any sexual impropriety. Meanwhile, we are also told Red Bull themselves are advising him to resign, rather than risk removal, so this does seem like it could potentially be the end of the road for Horner at RBR. In an interesting twist, it appears both Horner and Adrian Newey have clauses in their contracts that if one leaves, the other can. So, wild conspiracy theory time: Horner & Newey > Ferrari > Hamilton joins them in 2025 Couldn't happen, or could it? 🤔
