Mucker1884 got a reaction from uttoxram75 in Officially getting old... and...
Still agile enough to pedal. They do say that despite them being easier (than a non-pedal assist), they are that great, you actually use them more often/for longer (time and miles), so end up taking more exercise than if you had a "normal bike"
Anyway(1): I'm months away from needing a mobility scooter, yer cheeky sod!
Anyway(2): Just feck off! ?

Yes.
One of the few options we had to actually view in the flesh.
Very helpful advice from them, but ultimately wasn't drawn to any models they had available, be that aesthetics, or spec levels. ?

I doubt that's his missus, if that's his name at the top of the page.
She ain't no Mrs Dainty. ?

Mucker1884 got a reaction from DerbyRevolution in Derby County v Port Vale - The Matchday Thread
Over a month for me... Aug 27th v Peterborough... due to holidays (missed Plymouth & Wycombe), and not being arsed about pizza cups (missed Grimsby).
I'm absolutely gagging for it, in truth! ?

This game has taken an eternity to come round with the international break and then the away game.
Come on Derby, huge welcome for Warne and 3 points the order of the day. ?

Have turned gender neutral, too! ?
Just confirmed an order for a couple of these...
Yeah... Yeah... I know!
But who needs a crossbar in this day and age! The days of getting my leg over are soon to become a distant memory!
Hired something similar for a couple of days when in France last month, as Muckerette had a bit of jip with her back, but didn't want to miss out on the cycling (the main point of the holiday) and I have to say, we were both immediately and exceedingly impressed at just how good these fancy battery bikes are.
It also made a nice change to not be constantly overtaken by 70 year olds! ?
Still need to pedal, otherwise the motor don't help at all, so it's not a complete cop-out, fitness-wise.
Decided to go full-on continental, and follow the lead of our highly regarded Dutch neighbours, so opted for the Mary Poppins stylee! After all, one man's "Ladies Bicycle" is another man's "modern unisex bike"!
Well, that's my defence, so laugh all you like... but I'll be laughing longest! ?

Have you thought about something a little less embarrassing like a mobility scooter?
I can't wait to get mine. Can even get covers on so the seat doesn't get wet whilst you're in the pub.

If I ever get old enough to consider riding one of those, please put me down. I've had my life.

Got the missus' bike from here, The Bike Shop, 100-102 Monk St. (off Abbey St.) Derby DE22 3QB.

Really good in there, great advice, after service, free battery replacement within 2 years if needed. Couldn't fault them.

That’s been my approach for a decade or so. The odd polo, and a fair few training tops.
I prefer the sponsor-less look… the cost (saving) is a bonus.

I’m the same generation as you and I used to not mind sponsors on shirts but I don’t like them anymore (especially if it’s something I don’t agree with like betting or alcohol). The shirts look far nicer without. I purposely bought our shirts without sponsors the last few seasons (if I can find them).
The big red Just Eat logo put me off buying some of our shirts all together because I thought it was just an eyesore and totally dominated the shirt.

The missus has got one of those. She uses it to get across town for work and stuff as she doesn't drive. Its quicker than using a car anyway for most of her journeys.

Yeah.. Sorry about that mate.
It's part of my cost-cutting regime, as not all of us qualify for help at Asda cafe, or the Iceland pensioner discount!
I appreciate what you're saying, but we all have limits... even you, I suspect, otherwise you'd have beaten Mr Clowes to saving the club.

Not myself obviously, she's won the lottery with me, and I feel like won the lottery with that she feels like she won the lottery.

Thank you for all the kind words and support.
Others have been posting on social media and there has been an article in DerbyshireLive ending with a plea to start the clapping at the 23rd minute tomorrow...

If you could mention it to your friends or people who may not have heard about it while enjoying pre-match drinks etc. that would be fantastic!
Once again, sincere thanks... And COYR!
